I am taking elementary Spanish for class and almost after every class I am literally in tears because I struggle so hard to get the concepts. I stumbled upon one of these tutoring videos and I PROMISE these videos have been SO helpful. The level of understanding is phenomenal. I would recommend this Professor and these videos to everyone. S/N, the tears are because as a 44 year old back in school, not understanding the concepts can get overwhelming. Kudos to this WONDERFUL Professor ☺️

Hey, I hope you've been doing well with your Spanish learning (two years after you first posted this). As a Spanish teacher, I can tell you that mostly it's just a matter of practice and repetition. Kids learning their native language don't get "concepts" ... they just hear all the vocabulary and grammar thousands of times and it penetrates their brains and eventually sticks, and they don't even have to think about concepts. Dr. Danny is great; I had my students watch many of his great, detailed, entertaining explanations. 😀

Another brilliant concise explanation. I am 60 yr old abuela learning Spanish for the first time trying to keep up with bilingual grandchildren, that's never going to happen but they think my efforts are amusing!
    Thank you.

This is the best breakdown I've heard for the verb "gustar". This makes it really easy to understand why gustar is not conjugated like other verbs. It's easy to think that 'me gusta' is just "i like" until you start trying to apply it to multiple things or multiple people liking something.
This video definitely helps you build a solid mental framework for this verb.

I am currently taking a higher level intro Spanish class in college, and as a current freshman who learned Spanish in high school for two years, I soon realized that my teacher first off barely taught me this subject, but also taught what she did incorrectly. So now I am relearning the most basic forms of Spanish. It’s been hard, but this video helped me so much. Thank you!

Hello there Mr. Evans. I'm a native Spanish speaker, and I really enjoy watching these videos because on the one hand it's very interesting for me to see how my language is taught to foreigners, and on the other hand I can improve my English with your explanations. But it'd be really interesting that you made a video explaining one of the aspects of the language but completely in Spanish. That way, it'd be a bit more challenging to your students. Please consider my suggestion and make at least one video with explanations 100% in Spanish. That would be great.
    Regards from Paraguay.

    Hi Danny,
I have tried many on line spanish courses over the years. I lived in PR for 12 years and never got the hang of the way they speak spanish. it's like is has a time limit, they speak Very Quickly and drop consonants whenever it suits them. There is no discernable rhyme or reason . . .
Trying to learn spanish in PR is like trying to learn english in alabama. (no offense alabama but y'all know what i mean) Anyway I digress, so glad I stumbled upon your channel. I am now living in Mexico and your channel has and is helping me so much. Thank you for all that you do. Muchisimas gracias mi amigo! No hablo por nada pero, I'm getting better with your help.

Extremely last-minute deal. I can speak Spanish, but just don’t know the theory behind the grammar. I was feeling confident until I found out that we were covering this horrid friggen word “Gustar”. I wanted to ask about doing the sound of r, rr in spanish. I personally cannot do it and i feel like most people who are not native cannot do it also. did you always know how to do it or you got it as you learned spanish? maybe you can do a lesson about making that sound? Excellent, I have spent hours in the past trying to understand 'gustar'. I think I nave finally got it. From what I have seen elsewhere do similar rules apply to 'encantar' and interesar'. If so what is the literal translation of encantar ? I cannot think of anything that makes sense.
