First off, I love the slight Southern Accent with the English. It gives me hope that I too can learn! In regards to coffee, in Peru, we would order either cafe negro o cafe con leche. Essentially you would receive either a cup of hot water or a cup of hot milk, then a small servette of espresso syrup to add to your level of preference. This was a daily routine at the hostel where I stayed.

Hi Danny! I’m one of those 60- somethings somewhere between principiante e intermedió always learning in spits and spurts. Anyway love your teaching style that seems directed at me! My SUGGESTION is a lesson following up on the “I’m sorry we’re out of that entree” here on the proper usage of I’M SORRY in Spanish. I could instantly detect that I was incorrect when a friend told me that his mother had died. I responded with a heartfelt “Lo siento” which visibly shocked my friend who immediately said, “Oh, it’s not your fault”.

I think these are very useful. I find no matter what country I visit if your language skills are limited the locals always appreciate someone trying. It is a sign of respect. If they speak English they are more likely to meet you halfway and help you out Tourists should at least make an effort as to assume everyone speaks English comes across as arrogant and quite rightly can get anyone's back up.
Useful phrases for restaurants, shops, doctors chemists, directions and transport are some of the most useful to learn even if your time is limited to learn a whole new language.

Hi, this is a super helpful video thank you! I have some questions about how to say things while in a restaurant. Help me out TH-cam comments!
What are some descriptors for how the meal was?
I like to tell the staff it was delicious/very good/amazing/this is the best meal I’ve ever eaten/ I loved it! Then I also like to tell my girlfriend when it’s not so good.
Is there a lesson on ratings/opinions of a restaurant/tour/place? (Mainly interested in the restaurant as we love to try new food)

I actually watched this video in its entirety to see if you were going to touch on "buen provecho". Usually, in eateries that are not fast-food, or open air (come y vete) Yes, that is a name for open air, usually stools surrounding a large square service counter; it is considered polite to say "buen provecho" to the table closest to the exit. You don't have to break your stride; you won't get a reply, but it's a sign of good manners. You actually don't even have to make eye contact; simply; ¡Buen provecho! and continue on your way. You may also find yourself in places where you will be sharing a table with strangers; again Buen provecho is good manners and it does not have to be said in an exuberant tone of voice. Buen provecho does wonders; you may be eating on a park bench and a passerby may say it; you can reply gracias if your mouth isn't full. Re: Tomar o beber: some older more conservative people may arch and eyebrow if they're asked "¿Qué quieres beber?" That is because the thinking is that animals beben, but people toman. Don't worry too much about; languages evolve, so beber is seeing more universal usage.

Hey Danny great pronunciation and presentation of the material.. One frustration for me however is you not giving us time to repeat the words or phrases… you end up over talking while i am trying to pronounce …. so I miss what you are saying AND can never finish the phrase. before you have moved on.. I recommend you add pauses

Helpful hint - you could pause the youtube video.
