Yep that was the worst phone call I ever got and the worst day of my life. I miss that man every day. Glad you guys are doing what you’re doing loving the channel.
I really enjoy how you and your dad work well together and laugh often. My dad passed away 26 years ago and I miss having those times with him working on projects together. Love the channel
It is so good seeing you and your Dad teaching those younguns how to do mechanical. Teaching young kids how to turn wrenches is awesome. You and your channel has come a long way. Buddy I hope it continues to grow for you. I enjoy watching the farming life.
I remember exactly where I was on the day I heard Jesse passed away. I was standing on a cedar rapids screen deck on a crushing job in Elsinore. I got to know Jesse when I hung out at their house with Michael all the time. He was part of my inspiration to be a mechanic. He helped us all out with our dirt bikes and stuff growing up. Definitely a good man.
We love this support group with the kids observing and helping out changing out the air bags. Good video of Shane and Sean changing the old air bags on the Peterbilt and picking up a load of retainer wall blocks. Good times and memories!
You and me both driver. I love driving big trucks, even the sound of him flipping the splitter gave me an itch that nothing else can scratch. I would go back to it if I could still log on paper. Pretty sure those days are long gone.
Don't know who the young girl is, but thought it was really cool to see her along with 3 generations of family working together. Thats pretty dang awesome!
@@frostys64, she was right in there turnnin' a wrench helping (and learning) how to put the air system back together...that was cool! Hopefully she will be learning to weld, fabricate, beef-up-things, back trailers, all kinds of things from her Dad and her Grandpa. Lizzy was a cool part of Matt Wetzel's MORR channel, now Katelyn is a big part of it...girls doing automotive, building, farming, competing, etc. is nice to see, especially if they really want to learn it.
Sean and Dad, Just Amazing thanks for taken us along on your new journey. Your leap of Faith has Blessed us all in ways we haven't realized yet. As always my very best to your family.
Man what a rough story. So sorry that things like that happen. My grandfather was crushed in a trench he was digging for a sewer line. Just heartbreaking to feel like you couldn't have stopped a bad accident. Sorry guys.
Great seeing 3 generations and Grandpa teaching the kids. Hope more find the channel, content is great, always different but always problem solving, instructional and interesting.
So sorry to hear about what happened to your brother. It's easy to discount the force that compressed air can provide. Many, many years ago when I was going to school for auto mechanics the instructor was rebuilding a brake caliper. He had a blow gun stuck in where the brake line normally would go. As he was about to hit the trigger on the blow gun, I reached into the caliper and grabbed the piston, to wiggle it. The instructor stopped what he was doing and started yelling at me, saying stuff like "don't ever put your hand near the brake piston" and "if that came out it would have crushed your hand". I was embarrassed because this was in front of the whole class. I was like 18 years old. I'm glad today that he didn't hit that trigger. Both my hands still work.
Man that's a rough story. Sorry for your loss. That story will definitely help others realize how important it is to inspect your airbags and replace if needed. Thanks for sharing
Thanks for another great video. Thanks also for calling attention to the dangers or changing air bags. It was a good public service announcement for your viewers. Sorry for your loss. Was this brother Merlin's father?
I love that your Dad is in just about every video. You will always be able to go back and watch them later in life. Wish i had videos with me and my Dad and Step Dad 😢
I’d personally like to see more of your peterbilt on here if that is possible, if not I enjoy everything else you guys post. Thanks for another great video
Stripe out! Flat bedding isn't bad. I did it for 25 years, had a good time doing it! Never had to wait for a dock, never had t worry about an animal falling while driving etc..
I really like that you chose 89 to be a part of your channel's name. We travelled 89 more times than I can count over the past 40+ years. Have always lived near or on it most of my adult life in Arizona. 89A is about a mile from where we currently live. Have spent a lil bit of time in the Kanab area, too. Really enjoying your videos! You and your dad are interesting and fun to watch!
Thanks for sharing your story of Uncle Jesse, been wondering what happened to him. You did them air bags the right way in my opinion. You didn't just change the one bad one. You changed them all! That's what I do on my Kenworth. I change all 8 at same time. I have never had one blow out. I lost one once on a used grain trailer and when I fixed it, I replaced all of them. Good job guys!
Lost my mom and dad in my mid-twenties. Never stop missin em, and think about them often at 72 years young. You are so fortunate that you can work with your family. Continue to be blessed abundantly Shane and Sean. John here, photographing the beautiful back-roads of Northeastern Tennessee, y'all.
What memories I drove a beverage truck for many years going through that port of entry! And delivered many cases to the old Settlers Cove truck stop right there. Just seems like the other day? Keep up the good videos I sure enjoy seeing them and the area up and down Hwy 89.
Straps are easy, try 8 foot drop lumber tarps. Nice job of not using your rub rails. I have seen “professionals”, either hook their straps to them. Or they go over them, and then to the frame. The DOT just loves improperly secured loads.
That little project went well. The air bag swap and the trip for the blocks for the retaining wall. Looking forward to seeing the retaining wall build and see what it looks like finished.
Love the bond you have with your dad. Complete opposite of a certain reality TV show were dad and son built chopper bikes but it was all fighting and drama on every episode. 89 Built shows what a great American family is all about. Stay humble and we will always support your channel.

The percautionsion that the two of you took with the airbags were outstanding. The small talk was awesome. I enjoy the family helping. Thanks for sharing 👏 😊
My sister and myself were always at odds and we did nothing together. Always bothered my mom and she always would say why don't y'all get along. When she passed, it was like she did something. We have gotten along ever since and actually spend time together and do things. I know it's my mommas work❤
I so much like watching you and your Dad work together. My Dad and I did a lot of stuff together. He passed away close to 20 years ago and I still find myself doing something and thinking Dad would get a kick out of this. Keep the memories happening guys!
I think it’s great that the young ones like to check out what you all are working on in the shop. I’m sixty myself and grew up on my dad’s chicken farm. He did all the mechanical work on everything, tractors, electronics for the egg room, you name it. He always took the time to show a kid what he was doing, why he did it, and how to diagnose the problem. It’s a good thing giving your children a bit of mechanical abilities and to know how to fix stuff around the house. Myself I spend a lot of time in my shop, it’s Heaven to me. Great channel, keeps getting better and better. Have a great Thanksgiving and be safe.
You just brought Me back a couple of memories when I was trucking. I used to haul 48 bails of hay for a outfit I worked at & when You talked about the scales about back up, pull forward part, well this happened with Me. I had that happen with Me & was in a brand new Volvo, still getting used to it, Screwed up in getting gears correct, felt like an idiot. The scale man just laighed about it, after of course "Park, Bring Papers" then asked "going back to yard?" Yup" OK continue. As for cleaning carpets, I too along with My Brother-In-Law had a steam cleaning carpet cleaning business. I sometimes miss trucking now.
Years ago when I was driving a service truck for a tire shop the state patrol had 3 "truck cops/Commercial Vehicle Inspectors, aka C.V.I's" parked along the road that lead to the shop I worked out of. The CVI's were pulling over dump truck drivers that were hauling Bobcats; they were hitting them due to they didn't know how to correctly chain down a skid steer tractor & with that the CVI's decided to give their rigs a look over to find any "DOT Infractions"; i.e. brakes out of adjustment, bad air bags, air leaks, etc.
That's almost freak level accident, I've seen a couple brake chambers come apart and hurt people, but I've honestly never heard of an airbag breaking loose and killing someone.

sorry to hear about your brothers accident- we just had a guy get killed close to my area working on a dump truck loaded with asphalt . it dumped on him. it was terrible
I enjoy seeing your kids are getting involved in helping with repairs that is an amazing father figure you are and I am happy that you show your kids how to be safe while working
I haven't drove a rig since 1993 do you have to keep log books now. Weigh stations, log books, and grocery warehouses/distributors took all the fun out of driving for me.
Sorry to hear of your Uncle's fatal accident. I changed bags as a shop mechanic. I had not heard of this danger. I would drain the system of air to change bags to avoid any unknown danger.
In 1994 I was coming home off an 18 tour with my 10 month old tour bus and the right front bag blew. Apparently Goodyear put out some faulty air bags. Before I left for some reason I had the head mechanic order a stear bag and a drive bag because it was a new model and we didn’t have those bags in stock. Couldn’t get anybody to come out to change it so on with the coveralls. Now lf you look at buses the wheels are in a wheel well. Without a pit or lift it was not fun changing it but it got done and an hour late but we made it home.
Sad about your brother, I saw those kind of things over the years, one was a long time farmer in his 80s working under combine header when a Hydraulic hose broke dropping header down on him. Taking that extra time for supports and safety is important. Loved seeing kids in shop. 😊😊😊😊😊
Well Shawn just failed his driving test for his CDL, lol, had two friends go take there test for CDL’s back in the mid 90’s and they did same, opened the door reach in give shifter a shake make sure in neutral and turned key and started from standing out side and instructor said well you failed already to both and they had to both reschedule tests. Shaun, I could not agree more with a twist in a strap! I worked offshore for a long time and when your bunk is under the heli-deck and the wind is blowing…. It was against the OIM (Offshore installation Manager) orders but I changed that (the helicopters landed just fine) and got some sleep ! some times you have to do what you have to do!

Your dad is a youtube star in the making! Just him being his authentic self.
Don’t tell him that he’ll get a big head!! Haha 🤣

You have a good thing going being able to work with your dad and having the kids around too. Yeah that would be a easier way to build that wall!
Keep on trucking Sean😊
Will do
Looks like the same block Paul put in his yard.
