GWR Castle Class 5043 visits Ely on the 23rd Nov 2013

4-6-0 5043 'Earl of Mount Edgcumbe' heads The Elge Explorer excursion from Tyseley to Ely, arriving in Ely in unexpected bright sunshine at about 11.45.
Later, at 15.22 the train departs in somewhat duller weather on the return trip, passing Ely riverside.
The loco made a round trip light engine to March to turn. A trip of 40 miles tender first, not too pleasant for the crew!
