A cracking video of the day's proceedings my good sir, 5043 & 7029 seemed to put in some stunning performances; they stormed Hatton Bank at 62mph on the return, a sight & sound to behold from my point of view! The line-up of four Castles at Didcot looked fantastic too, it must have been a great day for those in attendance.
    All the best,
    Adam 🙂

I saw them at Oxford and Banbury on the return trip and they were going like the proverbial clappers through Oxford! That footage is now on TH-cam, but the footage from Didcot will have to wait for another day.

Curiosity question, what does FWC mean? I was thinking of Collet, but his initials were CB. Great video, thanks for sharing 👍👍👍

Greetings from Alsace! I've mentioned this before, but I'm still looking for an answer. Watching the motion of the two castles, it is apparent that there is a small difference in the rotation of the driving wheels. This suggests that there is a small difference in the driving wheel diameters. Any ideas, anyone?

Loco driving wheels were removed from the loco, put on a lathe and reprofiled a time or few in their lifetimes with the overall diameter being reduced slightly each time. I believe the difference in radius (or is it diameter?) between a wheel with new tyres and one that's been reprofiled for the last time is about two inches.

@@mikemorley3647 Merci! A very reasonable explanation.
      Thanks again

Has a Castle ever been painted in BR express blue like 6023?, I think that'd look pretty amazing
