    Hello ASL Heroes!!!
    Hey, I could really use your help.
    If you’ve enjoyed having access to an expert in ASL you can help me continue my work for you.
    A small monthly donation from you would instantly make a big difference here at the studio because teachers don’t earn much and I could use some help paying for server and domain hosting for Lifeprint.com.
    Right now you can help out a humble (not to mention kind, caring, generous, compassionate, helpful, friendly, fair, and hard-working) ASL teacher -- just go here and a few clicks later you too will be a true “ASL Hero!”

    For more donation options, see: Lifeprint.com/donate
    Thanks!
    - Dr. Bill
    p.s. Warm regards and love to you all.
    :)

    I could literally watch Casar fingerspell all day. There's just something about it - so fluid and beautiful.

    I just saw an example of "not-need" coarticulated, look-like "who-~~~", yet it was separate signs "not" and "need" signed with anticipated handshapes~

    • @sign-language
      @sign-language  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I can easily picture that in my mind! Great example of coarticulation!

      Also, "think for-yourself" or "leave it to you", the L handshape brushes across the forehead, then thumbs-up outward, before I categorized it as a new sign that isn't taught, but the L for think maybe that's also the same kind of coarticulation, things that can initially break receptive for rigid thinkers like me~ I've gotten sooooo far in 33 months, and yes, I still track the time like it's growing in me~

    What's the best way for me to set up a curriculum plan to for a group of homeschoolers to follow along with together? Would it be best to follow the lifeprint home school syllabus, or is there a benefit to doing the ASLU $59 subscription- is one more updated than the other/easier to follow, or does the subscription perhaps track quiz grades? Is this a horrible way to ask you this? lol Just wanting to make it simple for other homeschoolers to follow and be on the same page for the tutoring group. :) Thanks! (and I also plan on grabbing the USB drive for myself!)

      If the homeschool students use different computers and/or you set up separate user accounts on a local computer then the ASL.tc program at $59.95 per year is nearly impossible to beat in terms of value for a homeschool program since it includes a computer generated certificate of completion that can only be obtained by students actually doing each of the exercises. The reason why I mention the "different user accounts" is because the course Learning Management System uses cookies to track the student's progress.
      Plus the ASL.tc program has multiple levels and is not a fee-per level but rather the student do more than one level within the same subscription duration. Just set a calendar reminder to unsubscribe a day or two before the year is up (if you only need one year).
      ___________________________________________________________________________________________
      For those people who are reading this who may be interested in the ASL Training Center.
      ASLTC is a subscription online learning program offering multiple levels of American Sign Language courses and is generally based on the ASLU (Lifeprint.com) curriculum.
      ASLTC offers two subscription plans.
      1. Monthly at $9.95 per month
      2. Yearly at $59.95 per year
      You can cancel your subscription at any time.
      Pros: Low cost, structured, authentic, works on most devices, quizzes, automatic grading and score tracking, computer-generated completion certificate.
      Negatives: Does not involve live instruction and may not be suitable for students needing signature documentation. (Note: For sure there is A LOT of interaction but it is computer-based).
      For general information about the low-cost ASLUniversity subscription-based courses, see:

    Hello Sir, your videos are awesome and really helpful. Now i am an IT student, and i am researching about ASL recognition therefore it can be helpful for deaf people, currently i need some information about certain asl hand shapes which are same for different words and can be distinguished by fascial expressions, like late and not yet. I need to know how many of those and which are those. please give me some information, link, suggestion or something else which will be helpful for me.

    Neither I nor my deaf friend can understand Casar finger spell starting at 15:55. Even at slowest speed, looks like BEYON....Y?

    • @sign-language
      @sign-language  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Here's a clue:
      th-cam.com/video/4m1EFMoRFvY/w-d-xo.html/
      __________________________________________________
      Beyoncé - Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)
      Casar is spelling Beyoncé but chooses to spell the name with a "Y" on the end. Such "alternate" spellings and/or muddled spellings are very common in the Deaf world so it is good practice getting used to real life communication.
      I knew who Cäsar was referring to but at the moment I could only assume why. Then later someone commented on this video regarding the Single Ladies music video and I knew instantly that Beyoncé must have done a front and back display of her palm (as in showing that there is not a ring on the hand).
