Uh, quick aside, the Persona 4 crew use the glasses to see through the fog in the TV world, NOT to summon Persona. They do that by forming their corresponding Tarot Card which they destroy in some way. The crushing of the card unleashes the power of their personas
And, very obviously, the glasses are meant to reaffirm the game's theme about seeking truth by being able to see through the fog of lies. Perhaps because it was my first Persona so there's quite a bit of bias, I've always appreciated how simple 4's symbolism on the characters were versus 3's and 5's. Nothing wrong with them, but I liked that P4 hit the right amount of subtlety for me
@@Soulferno P4 is also my first Persona game. I'm hella biased towards that game for many things. But personally Persona 5's way of summoning persona always clicked with me.
I won't give any spoilers, but don't play through the P4 spin-off games (particularly Arena and Dancing) until you complete Persona 4 and Persona 3 first!
I tried to quickly summarize the plots of the game without providing spoilers. Persona 1 - A rich billionaire tries his hand at world domination with the power of technology and demons. Also a possessed mask takes over the school. Persona 2 Innocent Sin - Rumors are becoming reality. Featuring demons, a questionable historical figure from real life and Lovecraftian horror. Persona 2 Eternal Punishment - Rumors are again becoming reality, Lovecraftian horror wants revenge. Persona 3 - Teenagers fight a supernatural entity that wants to destroy humanity. Enemies are no longer demons but now the entities born from negative human emotion Persona 3 FES - The epilogue for P3 is a time loop. Persona 4 - Jojo Part 4 + Scooby Doo murder mystery. Persona 4 Arena - The canon fighting game sequel, featuring some characters from P3. Persona 4 Arena Ultimax - Part 2 of the fighting game. Persona 4 Dancing All Night - The canon rhythm game. Persona 5 - Phantom thieves fight back against a corrupt society. Persona Q - Questionably canon first person dungeon crawler crossover between P3 and P4 Persona Q2 - Electric Boogaloo featuring the cast of P5. Persona 3 & 5 Dancing - Questionably canon but unlike P4 Dancing there's like no plot. Persona 5 Strikers - summer vacation of the P5 cast but Dynasty Warriors.
So 4 Arena and Ultimax hav different ones?! I just followed the playlist and added the last two on the end, but thanks for letting me know what I missed out on, might have to check them on on stream 🫡
to answer two of your questions p3p has the female character and the dog activates his persona because his evoker (gun) is a collar so he can summon it
Another cool thing about Q2's opening is that it has all the main vocalists singing together from 3 through 5, not just Lyn and Lotus Juice. Also it passed by quick but it showed the femc from p3p too in the opening.

I've only got two things left to do to Platinum Tactica. Reach level 99 in NG+ to fuse the Final Persona, and buy a total of 50 *different* weapons. I hope that means across saves, because otherwise it's gonna take a ridonk amount of grinding to get the cash necessary. TToTT
17:26 The reasoning behind this could be that the dog has already (as an animal but all the same) accepted death and its mortality into its mind since they have to be aware of this for its instincts to be honed towards survival, for humans they don't usually think about death and their mortality every day but it could be easier for an animal to summon their persona since it doesn't have a lot of capacity for thought like the human mind to be worrying about anything else, for context Persona 3's theme is centered around death and that's what dictates a lot of the symbolism behind its mechanics.

Huh... you played probably my favorite (P4G), but unless I missed it you missed the P3FES intro, which goes hard... probably my second favorite intro in the series and it actually makes me cry during P3 Reload's Credits.... no lie, literally why I cried like a bitch during the Credits was the P3FES intro.
So the story of persona as a series is interesting Originaly it was Shin Megami Tensei If... Where it took place in essentially the same place as the OG SMT but a few desicions where different with other MCs which lead to another result Then from this the first Persona was made, it was actually in the same place of If..., but once again another MC, BUT, you can find and talk to the If... characters in it, so technically both stories are happening at the same time, but it becomes its own complete series apart from SMT
Not saying any more than this as I don't wanna spoil things, but once you go through the earlier games there's a point where you find out more about the butterfly
You probably saw by now, but yes, the persona 4 spinoffs are indeed canon! Arena and Dancing You even visit where Persona 3 took place if you got that far Labrys is a character introduced in Persona 4 Arena she’s another shadow suppression unit who was kept in isolation due to malfunction
Appreciate that you react from official ATLUS channel, not the compilation that other reactors use. That one is too out of context and came with bad aspect ratio. This is the best way that it should be react to.
That aigis with her arm destroyed and 13 arcana cards lying on the floor is her in 1999 during her battle with death in the bridge like that massive long bridge in usa, the main protagonist is also in that bridge that day, his mom dead during those two battle, with the boy the only person left, death is too powerful for aigis to handle so she seals death in that boy body instead. Aigis is the last anti shadow robot with ai that survives the event in 1999 where death is born by the kirijo group then destroyed and escaped the place, chased by aigis. I wanna spoiler many more but oh well, too tired to type.

Does anybody know if P3R is going to have an enhanced version? Similar to p4 with golden, p3 with fes and p5 with royal? Just curious if I should buy now or wait.
atlus has said that they won’t make an enhanced version. stuff like the answer is 100% going to be dlc, both a leaker and a list of future dlc in reload’s files has confirmed it.
Depending on your tolerance for FOMO, there is something to waiting for the inevitable story dlc that was leaked and see if the game will also go on sale when that happens. As of right now, $70 plus another $20-$30 for an epilogue story dlc is pretty high after all. I myself am also debating it given that Reaload looks good but doesn't include all of the original P3 anthology content
I don't know how much this should be taken as a grain of salt. But I BELIEVE i remember them stating in articles/interviews that stuff like The Answer and what not wasn't going to be implemented at all, idk if thats actually true. I also saw stuff more recently of people saying that now that P3R released it's going to be full focus on P6 for the Persona team, as their new IP Metaphor Refantazio is being worked on by a new team I believe. But I honestly don't see an "Enhanced" version for P3R since well, this is basically already the enhanced version of the originals. But maybe "The Answer" DLC???? In regards to Metaphor, it seems they're pulling all the stops for it in terms of development teams, likely so it doesn't flop as a new IP, as Shoji Meguro (The big music director behind the more recent Persona games) as well as Lyn (the singer) are working on Metaphor, and Shoji stepped down from the Persona team for this role.
I'm not meant to spoil you, just to say. Kasumi is key on the DLC's plot. Just so you fon't miss any of the DLC content, try to max out Maruki's confidant before 11/18, prior to sending the Casino Palace Calling Card.
The butterfly thing from the very first intro is poorly translated. It comes from a 4th century BC poem by Zuangzi (Pronounced kinda like Souji in Japanese): “Once upon a time, I dreamt I was a butterfly, fluttering hither and thither, to all intents and purposes a butterfly. I was conscious only of my happiness as a butterfly, unaware that I was myself. Soon I awaked, and there I was, veritably myself again. Now I do not know whether I was then a man dreaming I was a butterfly, or whether I am now a butterfly, dreaming I am a man. Between a man and a butterfly there is necessarily a distinction. The transition is called the transformation of material things." The basic philosophy is that there is no distinction between a dream and reality to the mind of a person, so you are what you believe yourself to be in the state you currently exist.
If you want to know where Persona came from, it is a spinoff from Shin Megami Tensei and has its origins in a Super Nintendo game called "Shin Megami Tensei: If..." that was never released in America. SMT If... is basically a regular SMT game, but with a school setting and school kids as characters. Demon stuff happens, everyone goes through some stuff. Very basic story. Persona Revelations was a minor evolution of If...'s formula, and did well enough in Japan to see an American release on the PS1 where it was ABSOLUTELY BUTCHERED by the localization team. They tried to Americanize it and remove all references to Japan and Japanese culture, even going to far as to change character's races and names. Persona 2 is a 2 part game, Innocent Sin and Eternal Punishment. the first part was NOT released in America because one of the major bad guys is an angry German man with a funny mustache and his army with double lightning bolt insignias.

PQ2 intro has all singers from P3 to P5
Huh... you played probably my favorite (P4G), but unless I missed it you missed the P3FES intro, which goes hard... probably my second favorite intro in the series and it actually makes me cry during P3 Reload's Credits.... no lie, literally why I cried like a bitch during the Credits was the P3FES intro.
So the story of persona as a series is interesting
Originaly it was Shin Megami Tensei If...
Where it took place in essentially the same place as the OG SMT but a few desicions where different with other MCs which lead to another result
Then from this the first Persona was made, it was actually in the same place of If..., but once again another MC, BUT, you can find and talk to the If... characters in it, so technically both stories are happening at the same time, but it becomes its own complete series apart from SMT
17:27 shock collar, it’s hilarious
I could get hehind an Isekai Quartet-ish type of anime with P3, 4 and 5's characters.
Not saying any more than this as I don't wanna spoil things, but once you go through the earlier games there's a point where you find out more about the butterfly
36:34 Her name is Ribbon-chan, anyone who says otherwise is wrong
Its funny on how you're so clueless about all these references lol nice video mans
The cool thing about Persona 3 reload is you can make your psp upside down to see the female version
42:30 HE SAID THE THING HE SAID THE THING
You probably saw by now, but yes, the persona 4 spinoffs are indeed canon! Arena and Dancing
You even visit where Persona 3 took place if you got that far
Labrys is a character introduced in Persona 4 Arena she’s another shadow suppression unit who was kept in isolation due to malfunction
Appreciate that you react from official ATLUS channel, not the compilation that other reactors use. That one is too out of context and came with bad aspect ratio. This is the best way that it should be react to.
24:05 “Where the protag at?”
Bread too burnt.
@@jesterjaded73 He stayed behind to make toast but keeps burning it with Orpheus
Lots of new people becoming interested in the Persona series
I’m not new to Persona LOL
@@ChocolateKieran didn't necessarily refer to you, but I have seen lots of people reacting to the Persona openings recently
Love to see it
My guy 💪🏾
What if ryougi from p5 is the that kid with the yellow shirt from p3 strength social link ?
The kid was in the 4th grade in p3(2009) and in high school in p5
He also loved track and the teacher in p5 said ryougi dyed his hair yellow which looks like the kids favorite color and ryougi in p5 talks about the p3 high school
Funny thing is that P2 you just summon your person in the real world. Yes. They use persona in the real world and Time stop is a thing LOL
1:09 butterfly dream, Zhang Zhou
P4D's opening is just pure joy to watch
now you can play them all
Yeah, that’s the plan
additional icharacters n story on p5 royal is good bro
P4 Dancing has a true story in it unlike 3 and 5 dancing games
Does anybody know if P3R is going to have an enhanced version? Similar to p4 with golden, p3 with fes and p5 with royal? Just curious if I should buy now or wait.
I dont think it will. Apparently the Answer content is gonna be dlc so no rerelease i think.
atlus has said that they won’t make an enhanced version. stuff like the answer is 100% going to be dlc, both a leaker and a list of future dlc in reload’s files has confirmed it.
@@Soulfernop3r includes pretty much everything vanilla p3 had + aspects from fes and portable + more stuff
15:42 ahhh yes. Ages my favorite robot persona character
In all fairness, that actually is how you pronounce Aegis. "Eye-giss" is specifically a P3 pronunciation .
I'm not meant to spoil you, just to say. Kasumi is key on the DLC's plot. Just so you fon't miss any of the DLC content, try to max out Maruki's confidant before 11/18, prior to sending the Casino Palace Calling Card.
Personae is mask in the old greek theatre :)
The butterfly thing from the very first intro is poorly translated. It comes from a 4th century BC poem by Zuangzi (Pronounced kinda like Souji in Japanese):
“Once upon a time, I dreamt I was a butterfly, fluttering hither and thither, to all intents and purposes a butterfly. The transition is called the transformation of material things."
The basic philosophy is that there is no distinction between a dream and reality to the mind of a person, so you are what you believe yourself to be in the state you currently exist.
Persona 2 is a 2 part game, Innocent Sin and Eternal Punishment. the first part was NOT released in America because one of the major bad guys is an angry German man with a funny mustache and his army with double lightning bolt insignias.
im gonna spoil you all, the music in persona fukin slapssssssssssssss
im gonna mid tier yap here so basically persona 2 innocent sin was uhh about rumors becoming the truth n the gang finds some stuff and yeah (no spoielrs sorry) ( I havent finished it but thats the scuffed explanation of it yeah )
lol its so funny that seemingly half the games you started and then did not finish
Yeah the only ones I've beat are Vanilla 5, 4 Golden and 3 Reload now. But I need to go back and finish Royal, I might pick strikers back up but we shall see
