This is why i bought two 36" black flags Ian, all my walls are white! I know how frustrating it can be micro adjusting again and again. Feel kinda normal after watching this video though! cheers...

The best way to learn is to make mistakes. You'll never forget this one.
And what's in it for you? A huge amount of knowledge about light. And how to get it done quickly and well.
It takes a few drops but then you also have something 😅😅😂😊
And again: I like your BTS and honesty.

Hi, Ian, I am a fan of your channel for long time and love you works. You made your portraits photos becomes very creative and artistic but in very simple ways. Thanks for sharing. In this video, I think you still miss the continous light ON for video recording during the photoshoot @4:19 and we can zoom out the RAW result you provided and still see 2 light sources (the main/key light on the right of the camera and other fill light - video light on the left ) in your eyes. Same as the second case, change the black flagand open the doors, the video continous light still on during the photoshoot and we also see it with the key light in your eyes, in last photo. The details or your right ear and hairs, your head of the right side, flagged and reflectted with black flag, but still see easily because that accident fill video light. So, there were not only one light source in both cases as you said. Sorry if I am wrong, but I hope not !

Hey 👋 yes you might very well be right but I did take an ambient shot with the available light (video light) and it was pitch black. Good point for sure for future 👏 hope you're well

Hi Ian. Just found your channel. We've commented on each others images in the past. Think it was on EPZ.around 2010 or so.
Your work was good back then and always creative but WOW! now it's another level. Fantastic work you do.
I always remember you being creative but one thing that always stood out, was the amount of creative ideas you had. On a daily basis at times from what I remember.
Not done any photography myself in a very long time for one reason or another, as well as losing creativeness.
Anyway, I just wanted to say well done and good on you :)

I'm sorry Ian, I dont' understand when you say the name of where you've bought your backdrop at 4:03 .
It sounds like "slav hand painted backdrops". I've googled it and not found it.
Can you please tell me where it comes from ?
