I can't believe I bought my very first Harley Davidson Sportster. Can't wait to bring you more content on this motorcycle! - ยานยนต์และพาหนะ

The literal owner of the HD dealership doesn’t care what you’re riding as long as you ride. That’s dope.
And THAT is why we do business with Bert’s
Berts the man!
Respect to Bert!
My local dealer isn't bad. But definitely nowhere near as cool as Bert seems to be.
@@shadetreesurgeon I have my issues with HD as a company.. That said, Bert has impressed me as a person through your channel. If I end up in Orlando, i will visit. I think i need a black widow challenge coin :)
That hunk in the grey jeans what’s his @???! He thicc 😍
Lol
Think his name is dankwheelie or somethin
Lol you ain't right
😂🤣😂💀
When the bike broke down it appears his swamp ass was leaking through the jeans lol
Congrats on becoming an official HD babe! Remember, If you need parts .. Flips bike is right there! It literally never moves 👀 😆😆
LMAO!! So much truth in that!!
you probably dont care but if you are bored like me atm then you can stream all the new movies on instaflixxer. Been streaming with my girlfriend for the last weeks =)
Seeing this for the first time (I know, 2 years later).
Hope you are well, still riding, and having fun.
I bought my first Harley at age 60 after retiring from the Army just a few short years ago. 2004 Fatboy with 76k on the clock from my local Harley dealer.
It has been flawless!
Still riding and having fun.
Note:
I assume nobody sees me and ride like everyone is TRYING to kill me.
Best way to stay safe and ride defensive.

Minor bump in the road. I have two HDs, a 2003 Road King and a 2005 Deluxe. I bought both new and both have been very reliable, no breakdowns, easy riding. Enjoy the new bike! You will look great on that machine.
Forreal I have no idea where anyone gets the idea that they aren't reliable.Yea the old ones leaked oil all the time but not once have I heard anyone breaking down on the side of the road with one.
Holy 💩 the circus bear got loose and took off on a Sportster 😂😂
That would be funny, but I like Josh to much.
@@stupead24 too funny
Tell Josh that when he runs out of gas because he didn't check the fuel reserve, he shouldn't blame it on the weather.
What is so cool about this endeavor is that Josh can impart his knowledge as you go. There really is an empowering feeling knowing you can fix anything on your bike. Just remember sometimes the surgeon likes to do the same fix twice LOL.
Congrats! Sportsters are great! My wife rode one for 5 years. Still got parts from upgrades in the garage ... if ya need a low profile seat. (LePera Bare Bones solo, carbon fiber)
I’ll buy that seat off of you!
Another good video! Diggin' the new channel! Your uncle is a big reason why I got into riding in the first place, so glad to see that you're making it work too! Enjoy your new (old) sportster. A sportster 1200 was my first bike, hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed mine.
those 1200 sporty's are badass, all motor little frame. you will have a blast
little frame??? you never had one apart huh??
Congratulations, what a beautiful bike! I don't know when I've been more excited to see someone get a sportster! I'm cheering you on, on this adventure! I've got one but I've been so nervous to ride it. My hubs had to do alot of work getting it set up for me as I'm 5'2". I'm currently riding my Honda rebel 250 trying to gain more experience. Seeing you on your journey gives me much needed encouragement! Short and little folks, unite! 😜👍
HD breaks down on the way home. Classic.
they do that when you dont check the gas in the tank and its empty
Chey, love the intro. You've got the best "take no shit attitude!" Loving the sporty. Best bikes to mod and work on. 👍 This is gonna be fun!!
KEEP THE SUZI.... That way u always have something reliable to ride!!
yeah she should keep it...
I own 2 hd no problems, one with 64,000, the other 30,000. I also own a Honda with 63,000 it's break down at least ever 10,000 mile. So go with the H.D.
I love my Suzuki still!
@@Cheyleesi I bought a new Soft tail Custom in 1999, did 44000 miles in the 2 years that I owned it with no breakdowns or mechanical issues, and i drove that bike really hard, some bikes you can be lucky with, others not so
@@Cheyleesi I like all bikes. Just a lot of people thinks H.D. are not good bikes but they are. Been riding for 55 yrs.. You name a make I been on one of them. Love them all. H. D.
got a bad rep cause of the A.M.F. yrs of ownership. Have a great day and I wish you the best on u2.
"Sportster Chea" ! You go GIRL !
Been riding for 56 years. Right now on my 3rd Sportster, a vintage black 90 XL 883. They are the longest running produced Harley, since 1957. You fit well on one of a classic
breed. Ride On...
Right on!
Hobbit style Sportster, because you can't just walk into Mordor.
😹
Congratulations, you just won the interwebs for today! Best comment of the day. All genres, all channels. Phenomenal.
Should have bought a Dyna Low Rider S Chey :) #twincam #110yooooo
I wish I got one instead of my iron 1200 lol
You always bring a smile to my face, your enthusiasm is beautiful as you are
1 week ago:first time riding a sportster, next week buying first Harley, Hell yeah
Thats a great looking sportster you purchased. Love the amount of Chrome it has. Also "Cool Shades" Good luck with the build.
your a natural. I'm excited to watch this channel grow
Thank you so much!
CONGRATS on your new bike..... sounds so good.....miss mine. I had a 2006 Streetbob. Had to sell due to financial issues around 10 yrs ago...miss it. I've been bikeless for around 10 yrs now. Josh and his channel has definitely gave me the fever really bad... maybe the Spring will put a bike back in my life. Ride safe!!!
I knew it was coming! Congrats girly! Ride the wheels off that damn thing and enjoy!
My first Harley is an 02 Sportster xl , it broke 4 miles down the road ; and it’s still my favorite bike ever !!!!!
Congratulations!
Congrats! We liked, subscribed, and hit the ding dong diddle. Ride safe!
Thank you for all your help! We love yall so much at the Brap Star Garage
Nowhere near Florida, but Bert's get a new subscriber cause you guys are the dealer everyone wishes they had
@@ericb065 same...
My 2001 XL-1200C, which is my first Harley, never broke down! Still riding it and it still handles like a charm!
Is “I’m a witch I’ll melt in the rain” code for I’m wearing a white shirt and no bra? 😂😂😂
Why can’t it be two things
Well you’re a woman so it can mean 5 things. I’m a pretty submissive guy so I’d just be like yea you’re right sorry I questioned you
HaHa Too Slow how do dudes manage to be pathetic in TH-cam comments? Just stop typing and save yourself the embarrassment.
M J well I don’t feel pathetic or embarrassed. So I’ll continue to comment what I want. If it gets some laughs, it did it’s job
@@MJ-ck9xk are you some militant feminist that becomes enraged whenever breasts are mentioned?
Extremely unfortunate for us Chey did not get to ride her bike in the rain.
I just realized your intro is the sound of link swinging his sword around
Hyrulians assemble!
The Harley smile. It’s addictive. Honestly I had more major problems with my Yamaha FJR than my Harley. It fried the main wiring harness. Under warranty but stuck in the middle of nowhere for a time
The PNW Rider I’ve had a timing chain snap in front of the dealer when they started up my brand new Suzuki. Naturally, killed the engine. I have had an overheating Kawasaki in front of the dealer while it idled. Stuck thermostat. It overheated and blew a gasket. Warped head.
My Sportster 1200... about to hit 80,000km. Nothing to report.
Congrats on the “new” bike. Looking forward to the journey.
Awesome, I can't wait to see how you make it your own, also super impressed by how good you are on camera for only producing a few videos to your channel, keep them coming!
That into cracks me up so hard. 😂 Congratulations!!!
so awesome, just found your channel searching for some inspo to buy a sportster for my 5’2” petite self. you’re hilarious, I loved this!!

My wife is 5 feet and followed the exact same route, she bought a Savage 650, rode it for a year and traded it for a sportster, It had a 19 inch cast wheel in front and then I replaced the rear shocks to a shorter Progressive suspension shock. She had a solo seat that a friend took and shaved the foam in it just a little. The bike fit her perfectly and she enjoyed it much more than the Suzuki. I hope this helps and good luck.
Remember, blue loctite and a wrench and socket set are your friends.
Welcome to the Harley Family! Congratulations! You vid reminded me of my first Harley purchase a year ago. Believe me when I say that once you get your bike Dailed in the way you want it, you won't even look back at your Suzuki anymore. I cam off a KLR 650 and a Suzuki GSX 1100. But my FXBR Breakout stoled the soul.... Good luck, and safe riding..
So now Cheyleesi is ofically a Harley Davidson Girl .. I wonder if she will have to get some HD Tatoos now ???
Great video! I've been fortunate to have known your Uncle for a little while now, and it's nice to see you following in his footsteps! It is people like YOU who are the future of this thing we call motorcycling! Hope to see you out and about the next time I run into him! Count me a subscriber.
Congrats, welcome to the hundred dollar club
Dude this is badass, as a former Harley salesman who sold shorter riders sportsters but never saw the end results I’m stoked to see what you do
Hey, look, a Harley in its natural habitat -- a pick-up truck.
Congratulations! That's very close to the model I'm looking for! Pre- rubbermounts are the best!
The smile on your face when you started the bike says it all. I love it! Beautiful bike. Ride safe.
Congratulations, Girl! Welcome to the Harley owners world! Enjoying your channel...keep it up! 👍
Good luck with the sportster Chey. Looking forward to watching the project.
I have that same identical bike. 2002 Custom 1200 same paint. I too had spark plug wire problems. Replaced them runs like Lighting. Love It!
Have to admit, one of the coolest Harleys I've seen was a Sportster. I *think* it was an XL1200S with flat clip-on bars, rear set controls, minimal chrome, short pipes and a deep royal purple paintjob. It came away from the lights like a rabbit with a firework up its backside and did make a lovely noise with the rider laid out on that skinny little tank like it was a drag bike ;-) My first thought was pretty much "I want that, but in midnight blue!" :-D
@cheyleesi I didn't realize you bought a 2001!!!! Welcome to the solid engine mounted sportster club!!!!! Mines a 2000, same displacement. In the next few weeks you will find more quirks than you ever wanted to find in your new ride, but once you learn them, the bike will take on its own individual personality and attitude.
Seriously CONGRATS!!!
Giirrrlllll Congratulations!!!! That bike is beautiful and fits you very well can't wait to see your seat and control modifications!!! I have been riding almost 3 yrs and my 1st bike was and has been a 2004 Suzuki Volusia 800 which has been giving me alot of carburator issues BUT 3 weeks ago I bought my 1st ever Harley 2020 Sportster Iron 1200 and I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!! I love that its fuel injected and just has so much more spunk then my Suzuki and is smooth as butter!!
Hell yeah! congratulations!
@@Cheyleesi Thanks!
Yay! So happy for you! You look great on the Harley. Cannot wait for it to be set up for ya to ride. ☺️
Loving your channel, you have the best comments. “ It’s pretty but is it worth it” and “ water melts a which”. I’m dying but yeah, it’s worth it!
Congrats on the new bike! Also great channel progression already with such a new channel!👏
In time, your Sporty will reveal its true self. Take care of the bike and it'll take care of you. Ride safe, Chey.
Love the Green paint on that Harley!!! - My guess for upcoming mods are, reduced reach seat, mid controls, lowered rear shocks, lowered front suspension, and maybe different bars.
She might be able to do everything so mentioned but keep the bars. I would recommend that as a last item if needed.
Thats awesome cant wait till see the other videos on this build
Congrats on your first Harley purchase! I got mine beginning of this year and love it! ride safe!!
Congrats on the new to you sportster. Looking forward on what you do to make it your Harley.
Congratulations! Can't wait to see the modifications... Good luck with your new adventure.
Even though im a bit tall 6'2 and 180 pounds, i absolutely love my 2002 883 Sportster! Pretty quick in the low gears too! It'll be awesome to see you mod it out! I definately had alot of fun customizing mine!
Congrats on your bike. My uncle gave me advice on my first Harley. Love your channel.
Fuck yeah 🙌🏼 look forward to seeing the vids following. Texan living in Melbourne, Australia, I ride a Harley here. It’s an addiction, a strange love and community to have one. I’m a 6’3” woman riding one having to make mods on my own for my height, look forward to following your journey. You’re a legend 🤘🏼
Good luck with the new bike. Can't wait to see what you do with it.
I viewed Josh's vid first but I'm here watching just the same. Killed it with this vlog, Chey! Congrats on your new to you Sporty!! That's gonna be an awesome project series. Be sure to label all episodes with something to indicate modding out for short statured peeps. That's certain to garner traffic. Can't wait to see y'all make something magic out of that poor no longer neglected bike. It has an awesome new owner after all. Love that Bert's let y'all drive it off the lot before you even actually paid for it! That's a beautiful thing. You guys have built a wonderful working relationship with them.
See ya next vlog! 😀✌👍
Congrats!! Can’t wait to see the build happening!!
Way to go Chey! New bike that we’ll get to watch you make your own and Marley on the back too! You’ve done good.
Hell yeah Chey! New bike day is ALWAYS the best day.
It really is a beautiful bike love. Congratulations. You'll love your bike so much more when you have made it your own and done all the awesome modifications to fit your style. Love the channel thus far 😁.
Welcome to HD!
I had a similar problem to yours....
But I was to big for a Sportster.
Im only 6' tall, with a 32" inseam and I still felt like I was on a kiddie bike.
Mid mount foot controls and wide semi tall flat track bars fixed everything.
My very first motorcycle was a 1960 Sporty, with a flat saddle and a tiny gas tank.
Changed both of those parts and I was fine.
The next were a 76', it was ok.
The best (for that time) was the
1984 XR 1000 she shook, spat and was very loud and was the fastest Sportster I had to that point.
Notice how the riding positions got better as the years passed?
The latest one is a 2010 XR 1200, a good bike but it's to
"Well mannered" it doesn't shake and roar.
When you get around to it, maybe you'll look at a pre 2000 Sporty.
There easier to work on.
Shinny side up!
T.
Girl you look great on that bike! I'm jealous of all the extra chrome you've got! I got mine right after you, a 97' 1200c
I love it! Got my sportster at the start of Summer, I've fallen even more in love with Harley's. :) I hope you have a blast!!!!
I'm a short dude and two of my Sportsters have Burley Slammer shocks, super thin but uncomfortable Sully's Customs seats and mid controls. They fit me perfectly.
Congrats! Can't wait to see the progress.
Harley's ride like no other bike. To me they feel alive and I'm being honest. The term iron horse fits because I feel like I'm on a horse. I can't tell you how many times I've felt like I need to tie the reigns up when I stop.
Wow, great dealership! Shadetree in the house! Loved it...and congrats on your first H-D! That sportster 1200 is a beast! Good for you! Let the adventure begin! Liked and subbed. Glad I found ya! 😀😀😀😀😀😀😀
Congrats on the new bike its a smart buy. It'll also be a great content generator with all the modding you'll have to do hopefully you tape it all so we all can go on the make it fit you journey with you
I have an 03, 883 Anniversary Screaming Eagle II. I recently installed the 1200 Hooligan kit and doubled the hp. Sportsters are way under rated. I have a Mustang seat that lowers the stance on the bike and is nice and comfy.
Great looking bike Chey! I love my Iron Glide...haha. Stay safe keep those vids coming..looking forward to the bike upgrades..
Just subscribed after seeing such a lot of you on Shadetree. Great looking bike great video and the best of luck to you.
Really informational! Great video, loved it thoroughly! Keep it up!
Seen you on Shadetree and think that's it's so awesome that you got your first HD. I know you've been riding for a while but I still want you be safe and have lots of fun on your adventures and please take is with you. I just subscribed and I look forward to seeing your content. So lots of luck with the new bike 👍
So freaking awesome Chey so excited for you , welcome to the club , why am i so excited like i got a new HD
Congrats on the new machine! The green is awesome 🤘
Congratulations on the new bike! I'm happy for you. I can't wait to see the changes you make to make it yours.
Looking forward to seeing the bike finished to fit you. Dig the color.
Enjoying the channel and Harley Davidson content so far!
Hi Cheyleesi, I just happened upon your channel and I must say I subscribed before the first video finished. I really like your content and I think you have the perfect personality to make an awesome TH-camr. It's really cool to see that women have finally climbed off the back of motorcycles and grabbed onto the controls themselves and really enjoy riding. On top of that, It's good to see young women like yourself who are interested enough in bikes that they have gotten their motorcycle licenses and now own their own bikes. No more riding on the bitch seat. Now it's riding alongside, way cool! I hope you have great success with your channel. I'm sure your subscribers will grow really fast. Good luck to you and stay safe out there.
Gnarly stoked for your project bike 🤟🏼
Careful Harley don’t ruin your channel, love your work mate
Congratulations on the new bike! Welcome to the HD family!
I owned and rode a 2001 1200 custom sportster for about 6 years . I loved it and wish I had it back. The bike was almost identical to yours. The bike gave me very little trouble but above 65 it vibrated a lot. My front rim was a little screwed from a fuck up , maybe that was the problem. I had a lot of trouble with the mirrors getting loose so you might want to look at that. I'm enjoying your journey . Be careful out there.
Congrats! Still on the same sporty i bought new in 2004. Tons of mods later I'm still in love. Mine has never broken down once. Check out the xlforum for awesome mod tips and general sportster info.
Good stuff
Got a project bike and can’t wait to see y’all ride 👏🏽
Awesome!!! Have fun, stay safe, and post more videos please. Can’t wait to watch some more.
Wonderful choice, as the Sportsters are the most reliable, most design-flaw-free bikes ever made. Enjoy it!
Congrats! Enjoy! You got a fast growing channel keep it up!
HELL YEAH! Congrats on the new ride Chey! I've got a 1200 from the same era and they're great bikes, you're going to have a blast with it. Take no shit from the Sporty haters! - Pat
Oh finally got your HD.
Congratulations 👏 and have fun with it.
Congrats Chey!
Make her your own, be well and ride safe. Remember, rubber side down, front wheel first...
