9 Years on and this is still the best carding tutorial on TH-cam. Thanks so much for an excellent straight forward explaination.

11 years and counting. So many of the other tutorials talk a huge amount and left me still unsure what I’m meant to be doing. I love videos like this.

The best carding tutorial I have seen on youtube! This is exactly the technique I was shown & taught including the way you hold the carders. Fantastic well done video, very simple & easy to understand!

Absolutely perfect, very easy to follow, no rubbish or over complicating of anything. Short and simple. Had me giggling too :) you're a natural to teaching and it's made my week finding this. Thank you so much, I can't wait to start carding now xx

This was incredibly helpful. I'm very new to spinning, and by extension carding wool, and this video explained some things that I found quite difficult earlier in a very clear way.

Once, at a rare breeds sale I saw a Jacob ram which looked as if the seller had gone over it with hand carders. It looked like a giant puffball, I thought it looked hilarious, but it not only fetched a great price, it won first prize in the show beforehand! Maybe I'll card one of this years lambs in the summer and make a video just for fun :)

Years ago in the US, I did that when showing a Scottish Blackface ram lamb. First washed and dried him, then carded him all over. ( No crimp in their fleece so what did it matter?) Judge was not familiar with Scottie’s. He won!

Hello! I've recently gotten into working with wool and have been looking around the internet after good handcarding tutorials.
Thank you so much for making this awesome video!
You're straight to the point, but you provide excellent examples of what to do with the carders. As well as what to expect with the carded wool. Thank you! =D

I've been watching a British comedy where the protagonists are attempting to become self-sufficient. One of the episodes centers around them attempting to make wool into cloth so they could weave it.
I wanted to see how carding actually worked, thank you so very much for this informative video.

Oh, that's a pity. I've known a few people who are allergic to animals with very fine hair, my youngest daughter can't go anywhere near my pet rabbits. There are a number of plant fibres you could try such a silk, cotton, flax, bamboo, or my favourite ramie. One day I'll get round to processing some nettles for fibre .....

Good morning, I have just found this and want to share a small bit of it with a primary school class; I am doing an art project with them about bogs. We will be looking at natural fibres and also doing a small bit of weaving on cardboard looms. I wanted to show them how the raw fleece which I will bring in, can be first carded and then spun into wool yarn. May I please have permission to share this with them? Many thanks, much appreciated, Lucy
