I did a full day Land Rover experience at Dunkeld with my old man last weekend. I couldn’t believe how capable the discovery was. Definitely a talent compensator for getting you out of everything put in front of it. it’s a shame that most of are never used to their potential. It’s also funny seeing the Taggarts badge. My dad did his apprenticeship with them when it was Taggart and Wilson. It’s now a Lookers dealership.
Great vid, very refreshing to see a complete novice and seeing the realisation of the Range Rovers capabilities. There’s a lot of GL vids out there but this definitely one of the better ones out there. Very respectful to the GL environment too which is unfortunately very rare.👍
Excellent video, always great to see an L322 out on the lanes. Some really good lanes - I drove one of the lanes in your video recently (Parkamoor - the one overlooking Coniston Water) and loved the views, though it was tight between the dry stone walls for the Discovery 5!
Great vid, thanks for sharing. I have a 58 plate 3.6TDV8. I love it. I bought it for £5000 however I have spent £5000 approx on it since I got it. The main big expense being £3.3K completely stripping and rebuilding the gearbox. It has its niggles, I wouldn't go anywhere without my goloo just in case the battery flattens, however since the gearbox refurb and a new set of Pirelli scorpions it drives amazingly well. I've also done the Land Rover experience in Perthshire, well worth it. Looking forward to some snow. I would agree don't buy one if reliability is at the top of your agenda or if your not mechanically minded and wouldn't have a clue where to fault find if you get stuck somewhere.
Instant subscribe! I think you nailed it, what makes these so special is that combination of luxury and massive capability. I accidentally took mine up a mountain one night whilst on an impromptu adventure, dunno how I made it up and down but OMG, the car was incredible.
They are brilliant off road, if you have one with a locking rear differential, they are unstoppable. Most people will bottle it long before the vehicle will ever struggle, and they take everything in front of them with easy, throw AT’s on them, and they are transformed
Enjoyed that. I’ve done them a few times in my l405 with the verdas it has on with no problem. Really good fun, if you get chance do the Land Rover experience at coniston and the one at skipton. Easy but great fun.
L405 actually weighs substantially less than the L322, thanks to generous use of aluminum in its construction. Nice to see an L322 out in the mud though!
Great video! Lovely scenery, when you get a chance, could you stick the link in the description for the route? Would love to see if there are any sections I could take in next time I'm in the area.
I drove the new one L460 on the Land Rover experience day and I was amazed what it could do in the South African bushveld with 22 inch Pirelli P Zero tyres
Awesome video, I've done that first lane a couple of times, gets a bit tight through the gorse bushes 😅 what camera and lens do you use for the still shots?
Nice video, may I ask what tyre size you have on? They look quite nice and sturdy, I have 20” but I am thinking about going down to 18” in order to have more chunky tyres and bigger wheels. Yours look nice and they also “look” quite comfortable off-road (as far as comfort can be looked upon 😅). Nice drive, amazing landscape
I think they’re 275/55/20. (I don’t have the car anymore to check). Be careful going down rim sizes! If you’ve got the 4.4 the minimum rim size is 20 to get over the big brakes on the front. 👌
The majority of L322’s didn’t come with locking diff’s buddy. The petrol supercharged models came with a rear locking diff as standard and I think there was a certain model 4.4 tdv8 came with it and that was that. They purely rely on the clever traction control system to get you out of the shit. If you change your screen to the 4x4 Info section there will be a padlock over the rear diff that opens and closes automatically when it thinks you need it if you have a rear locker 👍🏼 the Rangerover is a capable beast off road though! Like off-roading in an armchair! Mate of mine greenlanes a 4.2 supercharged 😬 look us up, “The Welsh Mud Club” 👍🏼
I think calling thr range rover luxurious is not really accurate. I changed from a 2004 lexus to a 2011 tdv8 and it was a downgrade. They're good, they're ok but I wouldn't say luxury having had one for four years
I’d have to disagree. They’re definitely a luxury product compared to 90% of cars on the road. Especially for the year it was built. (I’ve had 3 now)… Discovery 4 was a massive downgrade. Defender is just a glorified tractor. Even compared to an Aston Martin Vantage, still on par with luxury / comfort.
Absolutely brilliant video, and what stunning scenery, both vehicles did really well.

I've just come across your videos and the videography and edits have blown me away! What on earth! It pleases my head! 😯
Wow, thank you!
Great driving and scenery

Much appreciated!

Glad you enjoyed mate. Super tight through those walls. Especially hairy in the dark and rain!
Loved this, so refreshing. Thanks (landy owner)👍
Loved the video, and great camera work, very atmospheric. And I know from trying it’s very hard to make off-road driving look good on camera.
Awesome video, thanks for sharing.

Good grief you must be loaded 😮 🤑

Appreciate that John!
Really good film, good to see what they are capable of and really nicely shot.

Interesting!
Class video! Always wanted to buy a l322 and do some green landing but its so hard to find all the routes and lanes!
Glad you enjoyed!
Great film 👌🏼

Really beautifully shot, would love to see a breakdown of your equipment and colour grading!
Tight is right 👊
Awesome video, I've done that first lane a couple of times, gets a bit tight through the gorse bushes 😅 what camera and lens do you use for the still shots?
Thanks! It’s an FX6 and an A7s3 with G master lenses. 24-70 2.8. 70-200 2.8. 50 1.2. 👌
What are your camera set ups, I'm looking to record a few lanes but sick of seeing those boring dash footage type shots
FX6. A7s3. G master lenses. 👌👍
What was the route you did please?

Good to know. Thanks for that! Defo like off roading in an armchair for sure!
Hi love your range rover I I'm thinking about getting one but I'm too scared to lol keep thinking about the problems they have
Well… you’ll see in my next video that’s coming up that you’re probably best not to buy one for that exact reason. 😢
You need a the dpf egr fixing to make it last
What size tyres have you got on your l322
Think they’re 275/55/20 (haven’t got the car anymore to check)
@OLLIEHEELANDTOE why do you not have it anymore. Did they rub at all
@@pagett81 You'll see why in my next video! Just rubbed a little on the insides on full lock.
We used to have way more in the lakes but all the southerners moving here ruined it
Lager shandy drinking southern p****rs
@OLLIEHEELANDTOE 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Great video, I was expecting tyres off rims and missing bumpers
The good thing is that they introduce camomile tea and kale sandwiches and most have rainbow coloured hair so you can spot them a mile away.
Southern bloody fairies!ATB👍👍👍
Classic will Cane a L322 in Off Road Situ- though granted L332 Will Cruise better
