Lauren Shapiro, MD, Moses-Weiler Internal Medicine Residency Program Director, discusses the various individualized learning pathways that allow residents to pursue their medical interests. She also walks through the yearly structure of the residency program, while explaining Montefiore’s belief that mentorship, autonomy in decision making, and real-world experience creates well-rounded physicians who are incredibly prepared for a successful career.
This video was created as part of a series in which current residents openly share their experiences in the Moses-Weiler Internal Medicine Residency Program at Montefiore Einstein.. The goal of the series is for prospective residents who could not visit campus during the COVID-19 pandemic to get a true sense of whether or not the program is a good fit in terms of academics, structure, and mission.
