Always learn a lot watching your videos. I just saw that Pandora’s LP this past weekend. Cover looks like a take off of The Shadows Of Knight “Gloria” album. Thanks for posting and keep digging
Hadn’t heard of the Crushed Butlers, but when you said they would take on the Stooges I was intrigued. Checked them out and liked what I hear. Found an online copy and will have my enjoyment in about a week. Thanks for the suggestion.
Nice entry, broad strokes indeed but it's still rock & roll to me...found that Count Five in a thrift store a few years ago, that was a good day indeed...good luck, cheers Rich!
I liked your take on the "broad strokes" genres. Very different then most other entries including my own. And I really enjoy your stories like the Sky Saxon stage takeover story. Good luck in the contest! Take care. -Bill
Cool, Pat! Your entry is my favorite because you went a little against the grain. I was thinking of doing it the same way because my collection is almost strictly variations of rock - garage, psych, paisley underground, power pop, jangle pop, grunge, punk, etc. Love the Pandoras. Need to get that album. I need to look up Sky Saxon. Thanks for bringing them to my attention. Hope you win! Good luck. ~Hanna
Good stuff Pat, like your take on this. Just shows how broad a church rock and roll can be. And clearly there's a lotta good stuff to worship in Casa del Vinyl Richie. Haha, that Pandoras story is excellent👌 that Sky Saxon pick up album sounds like it's punching above its weight. Good entry and good luck Pat. Cheers- Dean
Hi Richie, such a rebel on your entry, thanks for keeping the punk ethos going Fun stuff and of course a few things I have never heard of. Crushed Butler looks great. I have Angry Samoans on CD and have not found it in vinyl yet, hard to find. Great stuff. Thanks for showing your stuff. Steve
Love the look of that Sun Elvis LP. I only really like his Sun stuff, which is a bit of a cliched thing to say I know. I remember you showing Crushed Butler before. You said the same thing about them kicking the Stooges' ass last time as well. In my opinion AC/DC didn't turn into heavy metal until the Brian Johnson era. Front 242 is a new one on me.
I didn't really make it clear but in the 70's Hard Rock and Heavy Metal were pretty much the same thing. Metalheads now claim that AC/DC is not Metal at all. You have a good memory. Lol.
Wow!!!! You just pulled 3 albums by Front242!!!! Oh my gosh man. One of my favorites from my childhood. I’ve never seen anyone else pull them in the VC ! Mad props for having those. I’ve been looking for them for a long time but can’t seem to find any usually. Not in the wild at least. I have most of their stuff on CD though. Check out the bands Delerium and Front line Assembly if you like Front 242. It’s Rhys Fuller who was a member of Front 242. Awesome stuff here dude.
This was a nice switch up for the contest. This idea would make a great thread. So much of it is new to me. I'm looking for a Goth girl friend if you know any ?
Suddenly One Summer - such a good album.
I love it.

I had never thought of it before but it very well could be a take off on the Gloria album cover. Same style of music.

Good to hear you liked Crushed Butler.

I still need to pick up that Pandoras album. Digging all those different styles of rock.

Sky Saxon was the singer for The Seeds.

I was pulling a Country album, a Disco album, a Blues album etc. but just wasn't feeling it. So I went with my first true love, Rock.
Solid selections. Top notch across the board~

Great idea for the contest. I could never get into the Psychotic Reaction album. I only like a few songs
I really dig Count Five.
You have one of the best names ever! 😆 Great show, too!
Ember Ash is also a great name.
Vinyl Richie Thanks!

I will check out Delerium and Front Line Assembly.
I think sameway about AC/DC. To me it is heavy metal, but I can call it also hard rock.

Very good take on Andrew's contest. Did you get the Sky Saxon for the Red Kross involvement or was that just a bonus? Thanks, Chris
I bought the album because of the Redd Kross involvement but was blow away at how good it turned out to be.
AC/DC doesn’t sound heavy to me anymore at all but it used to

I stay away from the Goth girls now.
