Stalkers will never not be a great enemy. Seeing the stalker nest tagged, knowing you've gotta go down there, knowing as soon as you get within a certain range of it they'll be coming to hunt you.... Then seeing that cluster of dust pods go off in the distance, for "no reason" and then the slight hesitation as there *must* be a reason and then the transparent silhouette of a stalker materializes a dozen yards in front of you and you just gotta unload your gun into it and kill it before it kills you. Man what a rush.

Welcome to the war Helldiver! I replay these maps so I do get quite familiar with where things are, at least for the earlier objectives. Play enough and you'll start to recognise certain tiles even with the procedural generation too, which helps in planning your approach even on fresh runs.
Love your content, Spiked. Reading how you did these runs down below is enlightening and actually even more impressive, to be honest than simply doing it on the first take. The sheer amount of patience and determination to redo the map over and over, even so you get clean choreography is really inspiring. I managed to solo my first level 7 mission the other night and was super proud because i did it with bots and an arc thrower, but it wasn't a full clear, just objectives. One of these days i hope to be even a quarter as good as you are at this game. Keep on spreading democracy, Helldiver. You're an inspiration to us all! o7
Congrats on your first solo! How was the arc thrower vs bots? I'm guessing tricky until you get in range, then it shreds? And thanks for the kind words - I'm still learning the game with the rest of the playerbase, so many little intricacies with the different strats and weapons, we're all learning from each other!
@@newspiked7385 Absolutely shreds. Despite it's look it has deceptively long range. I'm talkin I'm pretty sure I've hit stuff at like 80-100m out. Since bots tend to prioritize range, it works REAL well on them and can even take out the striders in about 3 shots from the front or 2 quick taps (i think sometimes 1) from the back if you hit their pilot directly. It's also great for killing commisars, though Hulks not so much. It can take them out but the AMR or something else will probably work better on those. Also great on the devastators with shields because it bypasses their shield entirely. About 3-5 taps and they're down while you also shred their cover fire. I imagine pairing it with a smoke grenade or EMS / Smoke orbital and you have an absolute bot destroyer on your hands. The only problem I really have with the arc thrower is that it randomly decides it just doesn't want to fire at enemies. Had it happen multiple times. You can also fire it really fast. THe initial shot requires a full charge but after that you can effectively quick fire it in a rhythm at around 30-50% charge. Once you find the sweet spot for it, it actually fires really fast and can take out anything other than hulks and tanks really well. For everything else there is stratagems.
This is nuts to me, i would have died 90 times on that first encounter. And doing it with the Firebat loadout no less was so good I think my favourite part of this was seeing how you use terrain to your advantage so effectively. So many times i would have stopped to fight but you were really good at funneling the bugs and herding them into killzones Crazy good shit!
Thanks! Yeah, hadn't really been funneling bugs much until this run, the flamer really benefits from it. Even for other guns, it helps so much for avoiding sneak attacks from hunters.
Flamethrower + shield gen is mandatory combo for fire. Stops you burning from your own flames and prevents hunters staggering you while scorching a horde. Amazing skills by the way. I really want to run 4 players all with fire, just for the meme.
You're a mad man. I found you first doing stealth solo missions against the bots, and that all made sense to me, so it's what I do now. A one-man inferno against melee heavy bugs is insane. Keep up the good fight and I hope to see you against the bots!

Instead a single stagger would be faster on canceling the breach most likely making slugger perhaps a cool choice, arc thrower handles chaff pretty well on long distance already) Have fun
@@kage_hunter Yeah, saw your announcement - will wait patiently for when you're back :) Teaming up would be great! Things may get a little busier for me on my end in May (we're expecting a super mini-citizen around then), but hopefully I can still find time to play *nervous laughter*. Good suggestions re: the arc thrower. I'm a big fan of the slugger all round, the stagger and armour pen is amazing. I just need to get used to the crosshair not resetting while firing, also I hear there's some new tech with reloading while shooting that I need to pick up.
I didn't liked new flamethrower tho. Too much time to kill a bile spewer (like 5+ seconds of non-stop firing), too dangeorus to kill teammates and almost a point-blank distance, making you vulnerable to these jumping fmkers. Auto is much more consistent and versatile imo.
Yeah, the need to magdump makes it risky for spewers and hunters. I think the charger kill is way easier though, and it excels at choke points. Autocannon has its own risks when used up close, or if a hunter flies in your face as you've firing. Pros and cons to everything!
I've seen some cool moves you can pull with it yeah, can get to high ground and flame them with impunity. Haven't practiced enough with the jetpack yet tho!
Just different strokes for different folks! Autocannon's probably more versatile since it can close bug holes as well and can engage from range. I like to mix things up all the time anyway!
...haha, dead-on impression of those dirty pacifist bot lovers, you almost had me going! Daily reminder: pacifism should not be taking lightly as a threat to Liberty, remember to report any suspected sympathisers to your local Democracy Officer.
The fact that bile titans are surviving the bomb like that is fucking stupid. This game doesn’t make sense in terms of balancing. Hopefully it continues to improve over time.
It's still one of the best strats for taking down titans, just could do with a slight AoE tweak. Too big tho and it would also be hard to survive yourself, it's a fine line. I find most success placing it in front of their path, so it detonates more or less in front of their face. Exploding under their ass is far less effective it seems.
Running towards a 500kg stratagem that's underneath a bile titan, and getting out entirely unscathed is peak Democracy

Have fun
@@kage_hunter Yeah, saw your announcement - will wait patiently for when you're back :) Teaming up would be great! Things may get a little busier for me on my end in May (we're expecting a super mini-citizen around then), but hopefully I can still find time to play *nervous laughter*.
Good suggestions re: the arc thrower. I'm a big fan of the slugger all round, the stagger and armour pen is amazing. I just need to get used to the crosshair not resetting while firing, also I hear there's some new tech with reloading while shooting that I need to pick up.
Whats the only good bug?
A dead bug! :D
Anxiety levels high..
🔥🔥🔥
Ah I miss the old patch's difficulty. Helldive just doesn't feel intense or as fun anymore
12:25 yo that's some max payne / james bond shit
Shootdodging feels so good. This game is amazing at generating so many action movie moments in every mission.
Dude..horrible ending, i wanted to see more bbq bugs before you extract and see if u actually extracted :c
Yeah, my bad, I should have played it out really, just wanted to keep that map seed. Next time!
Hellmire solo liberation when?
With all that fire you were not a helldiver but a hellsprayer
Your thumbnail is like a painting...
This game is beautiful
@@newspiked7385 Yes, but you have to capture the right moment as well as if it were a medieval painting. It totally worked. Nice work!
@@newspiked7385 This picture, this moment, should really be submitted to some kind of fan art, because it's a perfect momemtum.
If only I could get remove the UI after the fact! My photoshop skills are lacking
If you can do this on the new oil tanker order, I’ll give you ultimate respect but I don’t think you can 😏
I didn't liked new flamethrower tho.
What ship modules did you prio?
I have them all upgraded, but I remember prioritising all the Eagle stuff first, I'm a big fan.
@@newspiked7385 gotcha. I went with sentry’s first and kind of wish I went with eagles.
@@metallfinn No worries, you'll get them all soon enough!
How are you killing chargers so fast? By hitting their legs? My flamethrowers take a whole canister to get one
Yeah, aiming for a specific leg is much faster than spreading the damage!
Can you use the flamer with the jetpack? basically become fireball from running man?
I've seen some cool moves you can pull with it yeah, can get to high ground and flame them with impunity. Haven't practiced enough with the jetpack yet tho!
Noticed you flame the leg of the charger not the head?
This was before the nerf to charger head HP, so leg was the best target, not sure about now!
Would you prefer this to the autocannon build?
Just different strokes for different folks! Autocannon's probably more versatile since it can close bug holes as well and can engage from range. I like to mix things up all the time anyway!
thank you sir, your videos are helpful to learn how to effectively spread democracy and freedom to the socialist bugs and communist bots.
Go forth and spread liberty!
Another challenge is the no-kill run, with smokes and automatons if you will...
...haha, dead-on impression of those dirty pacifist bot lovers, you almost had me going!
26:16 why was that charger so tanky sheesh
My flames were bouncing off the body or ground, so they were actually missing the leg, ha
