If animating is sure to result in victory then you must ANIMATE! Valve said that and I think he knows a little more about SFM than you do pal because they invented it! And then they perfected it so no living man could best them in the ring of popularity! Then they used their animating money to buy 2 of every character in the world. Then they herded them on a map and then they animated the crap out of them. (I do not own the copyrights to the text, may contain mistakes)

To clarify, Valve have used the SFM for pretty much most of their game trailers so that includes the Portal trailers, the Left 4 Dead trailers, the Half Life trailers, the DOTA trailers, any of the gameplay or major cinemtic scences they have shown were all developed with the SFM, meaning that with creative ingenuity and good experience with the filmmaker, anyone could surpass what Valve made.

It's not explained at all in the video, but it looks like that if you select an area and an animation set you'll see the value of the first frame in the first box and the value of the last frame in the 2nd box.

If you re-position your workspace (Slide drag a tab to a different position), you can grab the tab 'animation set editor' and slide them next to Viewport 1 or 2. This makes room to expand other tabs while taking in lesser space. At least I've got the input windows back.

Got stumped on the whole F hotkey thing, didn't work for me. Found out the button for it is called Normalize Curve Display, right above the graph and next to where it says Keymode [Spline]. It's the two wavy lines with the arrows going up and down. Hope this saves some headaches.
Edit: After going back, the graph still wasn't properly working, so I had to move the camera directly to change the curves. Not sure if anyone else is getting these problems, but if you don't know a proper way to fix it, hope this helps.

To all the people who are being incredibly ignorant and writing ridiculously stupid comments, insulting the person who is trying to show us how to do this-
If you do not understand, re-watch the video, and remain calm. Animation takes time, and if you are not committed enough to re-watch a video a couple of times, and mess around in the program until you get things right, then animation obviously isn't for you.

Yes, except in TF2 it works for 1-2-1, 1-3-1, 2-1-2, 2-3-2, 3-1-3, and 3-2-3. In SFM, it's only 1-2-1, 2-1-2, 1-3-1 and 3-1-3. Basically what I'm saying is you can only quick switch between two of the three, and one of them is always the first tab (timeline).
