One of the very few who sounded just as great live, he had it down with his singing talent and a great band. Miss him, don’t see this kind of talent today. Thank you for posting this! ❤️
TH-cam is awesome in this regard. So I was born in 1982. I wasn't interested in music in the slightest until the mid 90s, went on to pick up guitar, drums, bass, and still play to this day. anyway, Saw this vid in the feed a few times, didn't think much of it, decided to have a listen. Well now i've Listened to a bunch of his shows Every show i've listened to, he has such a skilled and professional band with him. And Robert himself, after song or two and he's warmed up; such a great voice, great stage presences, always looking sharp in a suit, does that casual dance back and forth across the stage having a good ol time. and I almost just listed the entire band just now... one after another, song after song, they are all bad ass musicians. (Probably the biggest thing I appreciate about this vid is the fact that the music and musicianship DOES ALL THE TALKING, no fluff, no crazy costumes) Great stuff Thank you so much for sharing =)
The year 1982, my beautiful daughter, Katie was born. Christmas Day 1999, she became my angel after falling asleep in her car, driving off the interstate near Tallahassee, FL. God’s peace be with you always, wishing you much happiness. 🤗🙂🙏🏼🤗 ☮️ ❤
Saw the late great Robert Palmer at the late great Ontario Place Forum and also at Roy Thomson Dogdish which is a poorly designed hole with shit acoustics. The Forum' rotating used to give everyone a good view and the beautiful ceiling of this outdoor venue was apparently acoustically a treasure.. Here's a story from Forum day I hope is interesting. I was meeting two of my girl friends who didn't know each other One was able to go earlier and therefore grab better seats. Theyr depended on me to get there to join us all up. I was running late starting to panic. There were no available cabs. On a main street. Thought I was truly f-ed and so were my friends. Finaĺy thought I saw one, started crossing the street on green , found I was mistaken and when I started doubling back a car running a red light hit me. @$%!**%#! In the split second I had, I somehow remembered everything I'd ever learned about rolling in a parachute landing! I ended up on his hood relatively uninjured with camera case intact ! The driver stopped, every bystander started to scream "sue him! Sue him ! We saw it!" I climbed into his car My whole right thigh wasn't feel so good but I said, in the lowest most dangerous voice I could must. "No f-ing hospital. TAKE ME TO ONTARIO PLACE FORUM. FAST." I was the last person they aĺlowed through the gate.. Met my friends and we all joined up for the best time. He was perfect. I had a huge bruise from knee to hip and a foot wide AND IT WAS ABSOLUTELY, COMPLETELY, TOTALLY WORTH IT
This Man was Something else.. Very Very special to the. Music Business. A hell of a Singer. One of the Greatest of all times Hand's Down. Much Respect Due.
UB 40 would have had a task on their hands following Robert and Co. The band is tight as a ducks and he was one of the greatest white soul singers of all time, if not the best.
