Heh, don't fret the valves, it happens. Was playing 1776 in a pit under the stage, we were all miked, the horn player next to me (I'm on trombone) had valves that were noisy and it was driving the sound crew batty. You sound great and I shared your sleigh ride with that same horn player. He loved it.
Very, very nice! Question for you: are there speakers that you "listen to yourself" while playing a particular part? (Meaning, you do not wear headphones. How do you sync one part to another and then the whole piece?)
I do the sound and the video separately-it's easier to record straight mp3, easier to edit out mistakes, and easier to get good videos when I don't have to look at music or make sure I'm positioned in a space where I can get good sound quality (because my best recording setup is definitely not aesthetically pleasing). So I edit sound first, and then I play the final product aloud while recording and try my best to play along (or just totally fake it, depending on how well I think I can play the part by ear). Then I sync each video to the final track and edit out the actual sound. What you hear is me playing correct notes, and what you see is me playing very wrong notes with a lot of confidence!
Nice playing! I must say, that left hand position looks a bit uncomfortable. Have you tried shifting it toward your body a bit (sliding perpendicular to the plane if the circular tubing) so the fingers aren’t perched so high above the keys? I think this would also keep your knuckles from buckling. I have a horn strap that makes it super comfortable and takes weight off the pinky. Something else to consider. Nice final chord!
Very first-rate performance. And it gives folks an idea of the ludicrous range the horn is capable of. I'm having trouble hearing any of the issues you said to ignore. But maybe it's just due to cheap speakers in my monitor. But I hear everything else just fine. You can make a chair squeak work in your favor, like in this short example of Richard Wagner's Siegfried's horn call: th-cam.com/users/shortsHsIYol_MZys
Wow wow wow with the bass part! What a sound in that low register! Does this recording ever show the versatility of the instrument! Bravo!
Duuuuudddee sttoooopp cuz this is too good 😭😭

The pro is that I could double as a percussionist! :D

I wondered this question myself! Your answer is honest, enlightening, and hilarious!
Great arrangement!
