Bass clarinetist on the right here, if you saw that look I gave Annie at the end there it’s because SOMEBODY DIDN’T INFORM ME THAT HER BASS HAD A STICKY KEY (we swapped basses)
I love how Sleigh ride POV’s get recommended to me every year around November/December and guess what our director finally let us play sleigh ride in wind ensemble class So I can’t wait to make my own POV video finally
Good kind bass clarinetists - take a queue from the first player on the right and have *fun* with this, like at 0:22 and 0:53 where you have that legato ("and that ain't all") passage that can be smaltz'ed up. 1:11 where he feels the pain of the whip. Annie at 1:17 that's the spirit ! Sing and swing with the long legato passage. More moments like this! And thanks for sharing.
Our band director last year AND this year has us believe that there was no bass clarinet part because he had us play the tenor sax part. Now I know he just wants to torture us
@@AdamTheClarinettt Or perhaps Eb contra, as opposed to the larger Bb contra. The Eb instrument can play almost as low as the double bass or the standard range of the BBb tuba.
@@bobjacobson858 Which is a contralto... an Eb contrabass is a contralto lmao, unless you're thinking a whole octave below the contralto, which is defiantly not the case here.

Bruh we got like 140-160 or something close to that (Unrelated)Litterally all of the tenor saxes in marching band this year (except me ofc) is playing a different instrument in concert season. Litterally me, an oboe player, a bass clarinet player who can't play or march for their lives, and a clarinet player. And for our concert tenors one graduated last year AND THE OTHER ONE SWITCHED TO PERCUSSION LIKE WTFFFFFF But it's okay because our other bass clarinet made all-state last year somehow so the skill level balances out
I play contra alto and I’m new to it, but I’m confused on which parts I play, do I play with the bari saxs? Do I play like alto clarinet but an octave lower? Or do I just play the background or bass clef music
@HelloIAmNextToYou contra alto goes an octave down than the alto clarinet but I'm pretty sure u play with the basses ex:tuba, bari sax, bass clarinet ect.
I love how it’s just a clarinet thing😭 when one of us squeaks, we all eye each other😂
Lmao so true 😂😂
Lol true it always happens once before 😂
Same kinda with saxes
@@jjdjdjdbdrhrhrhfj4668 band kids are js awesome in general lmao

Sorry! 😢
Why'd you swap?
My bass goes down to C, his bass only goes down to Eb, so we switch sometimes so we can both have the low C
@@anniebassclarinet Ah, that's really nice of you!
@@anniebassclarinet you have a low C with that type of neck? I play on a low C and it has the neck of the guy on the right

A CONTRABASS LET'S GO!!
Contra alto
Not contra bass, contra alto lol
@@AdamTheClarinettt Or perhaps Eb contra, as opposed to the larger Bb contra. The Eb instrument can play almost as low as the double bass or the standard range of the BBb tuba.
Idk why but band directors just like to call a contra alto a contrabass. Maybe because they both have contra but one is in Eb and the other in Bb?

Annie what do you think of the instruments I play French Horn and Tuba 3/4 size

cool
Did the contra alto have its own piece of music or did it use the bari sax part
I had my own part
Pretty sure it plays alto clarinet piece an octave down, but written with same part as BC and bari
