I actually only found out about these guys a couple days ago, and quickly marathon through their discog, i was missing out man, great band, awesome review Chrisitian :) (Lustration is so good!)
I totally agree that circa is amongst the best/most underrated bands in the world. they can punch you in the face with songs like "get out" and "child of the desert", yet they're known for being very ethereal and trance-like. they have a lot of depth and meaning in each song, "flesh and bone" and "the amulet" are great examples. That, and any time i see an interview with anthony green it just makes me love them and just all music in general so much more.
My favorite song is The Amulet. The harmony and vibe of the song is the gem of the CD, like Only the Sun was to Decensus. Rest of CD is great too. Been listening to Circa since Juturna was released and one of the few bands I still listen to after all these years

Flesh and Bone has already become a new favorite song of mine. I've been digging their slower, melodic songs from the last few albums like "Phantom", "Nesting Dolls" & "Think of Me When They Sound"
I'm a huge circa fan but I would definitely say the amulet isn't even close to being a perfect album. It's not their worst and even at their worst they're still a fantastic band but I think this is a fair rating. If you want a 5/5 circa album listen to on letting go. BSN was good but it was definitely the shift in their songwriting towards their more pop-y sound.
I love every song from circa survive. From the inuit sessions all the way to appendage. Violent waves has a few good songs but the amulet was a complete miss. This album has none of the emotional intensity that most of their other albums have. Circa is my all time favorite band but this album was just boring

Check out some Hail the Sun. Lead singer Donovan, to me, is very similar to Anthony.

Snail Man This album and Brand New' s new album are so damn good. Probably one of the best years of releases in a VERY long time.
you should listen to the new Counterparts album as well.
