Thanks Allen, good informative video on a real used boiler, if the auto air vent is closed after venting, it is no longer auto it becomes manual, always leave it open.
Hi Alan great video again pal, I'm a plumber gas trained (42 years) now, city and guilds basic, advanced, hnc. I then did the extra three years on top to do the gas qualifications, seemed like an eternity at the time, people can call me what they want as long as it's not to rude 😆😆 Keep up the good work👍
Excellent video your explanations are very good u need to be less modest abt saying your not a trainer as I think you explain very well. Keep the videos coming 😀
Congrats Allen. For one more time you are great. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience on gas boilers. You are the best. God 🙏 bless you.
Thanks Allen very helpful video for faults finding etc I’m new gas registered and always those videos helpful to earn more confident for new plumbers & trainees last thing we need is to practice or guess on customer appliances 😂👍
Am I correct in thinking the entire housing, with the pump etc, is proprietary to Ideal and therefore extremely expensive to purchase housed replacement partst? I was looking into getting one of these for my own home, but when I saw that design I ran a mile.
Hey allen, stainless steel everytime the big bore water way type as its nice access not the thin microbore one tho it does depend on the customers budget thanks the video 👍
Hi Allen, Hydroblock on this boiler doesn't have a by-pass pipe as in Vaillant EcoTec. Does py-pass make any difference really? And also Vaillant has the diverter valve on the right side of the heat exchanger beside the pump, on Ideal Vogue it is on the left side, does it also make any difference?
Great video Alan can you and Roy do video regarding gas fires remove the fronts and strip down as sometimes removing the front of fires can be quite awkward, firegem visas/Robinson Wiley easy but others can be tricky.😀👍
Love it Allen! Thank you so much for a masterful tutorial. Much appreciated. Do you have any plans to do a tutorial on a Keston Comb C30/C35 boiler model? Best wishes.
Allen can you please explain a little more about pumps. You said this was a 15/70 which means it's slightly bigger. Can you elaborate more on this. I think on baxi's 15/60 is quite a common size. What exactly does this mean. Sorry if my question sounds a little simple, Thanks.
I have the evohome system running 12 radiators. The control you have over individual rooms and savings for a large victorian house outweighs changing batteries every 18 months. Probably takes me 90 seconds per radiator. Evohome has an option to use opentherm and ideal can also do opentherm. Just not many heating engineers know about opentherm.
If these boilers come mostly with a 10 yr warranty would the parts not be included and never need to know what part is needed (as Ideal etc would send out the part if the gas engineer is willing to do it vs waiting for the Ideal warranty sevice team to survive)
After refilling/re-pressuring a combi system, the air vent cap should be open, otherwise the valve cannot vent air from the system. It can be left open, though after several days, all air should have been expelled. Only close the cap if it is leaking water
Great video Allen, I’ve got this boiler and do like them I like the thought of stainless steel heat exchanger Main thing about the vogue is the display an control 👍
It says on my Plumbing NVQ certificate from City and Guilds "Mechanical Engineering Services, Plumbing Level 2" and that is before any gas training. Engineer or not ?, Well they seem to think so 🤔
_Engineers_ are graduates. Someone who fixes gas boilers is a _serviceman._ In some countries an _engineer_ has the the title _Engineer,_ like we use "doctor". You may be called _Engineer Smith_ for e.g.
Hi Allen . I use to watch your all of videos, in every video you tells that you are not a trainer. but I think you are a first class trainer. when I started to watch your videos I dont know any think about domastic boilers. now I can understand how its work's and the sequence of it. Cause you explain its very well . Thanks for sharering your knowledge . Thanks Ferguson
The Ideal Vogue is one of the best boilers on the UK market in my opinion but unfortunately, not all installations are the same. If it was badly installed then it could have damaged the boiler. I have no idea of the history of it. Thanks.
Your videos are amazing. Since I decided to do a course to become a gas engineer I’ve watched all your videos. Thanks for that and keep up the good work. Ps: I’ll start my course on the 29th May. Wish me luck 😁
I feel uneasy calling myself an engineer. I’ve been in commercial heating for over twenty years and don’t know a thing about plumbing, so I’m not a plumber. Oftec refers to us as technicians, but nobody in the real world does. I call myself “ The Boilerman” or “ The heating bloke”.🤷🏼♂️
I'm commercial too. I get a bit miffed if I get called a plumber and my friends know it too. They rib me all the time. I started off as a combustion engineer on furnaces. After years away from home I got into commercial heating and domestic after. Me personally have no interest in fixing a toilet. Ya not alone pal
An engineer understands the what he is fitting, he will now where to fit it and the regs behind it. a technician will only know how to do certain things on a product without fully understanding
I’m a electrical maintenance engineer and the operators call me a fitter🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 I suppose some people have called you a genius when they have there heating back
I am getting the 100-W 35 kw (2021) installed in 6th May 2021, reason chosen for me new low CH turn down to 3.2 kW, the baxi 636 or the ideal vogue were my other choices I would also been happy with except for the turn down
i am looking to replace the ariston microgenues its been over 15 years now all modern boilers use plastic hydroblocs except baxi every one is offering Worcester Bosch i don't like plastic the reps are getting kick backs from Worcester Bosch valliant the only problem i have is 22mm mains gas dont know if i can i can run baxi 836 or platinum on this gas line i had ariston mocrogenus 28 mffi

Is that the same as a Main Eco Compact and if it is why fit the more expensive versions?
The Vogue is quite a bit more advanced and also works better on bigger systems. A lot of it is similar to the Baxi/Main though. Thanks.

Baxi 836 or Viessmann 100-W 35kw (2021) this is a hard decision.

Definitely recommend
