I've gotta say I love seeing Johnny Cage's progression in these games. It's so much more entertaining & fulfilling than the old games' depiction of him.
the mortal kombat games have some good transition meaning if you've played one game the rest will just kind fall into place everything will feel the same but the timing will feel different making the game feel fresh and allowing you to do things not possable in other mortal kombat like mk10 i think is the only mk that you can actually run in and using that enables you to hit some one across the screen and run after them to start another combo or catch them mid air
Sorry I missed the live stream but I'm glad you were able to experience the story. Idk if someone already told you but the opening cutscene is the conclusion of the battle from MK Armageddon, the last main story MK game made by the original studio Midway. This reboot was to show the transition and rebranding into NetherRealm Studios (NRS) and the new direction. So most of the plot points of this game are literally the plot of MK 1-3 that you guys might have played, but with changes that drastically affect how the story went. Hope that helps. Can't wait for the other streams.

Sektor was always evil even as a triborg, he kept the same alignment. Bob Carter voices MK9 Shao Kahn. 1:13:50 is Kintaro, another Shokan just like Sheeva and Goro. The comics are canon and Daniel decanonized that they are not canon and yet again retcon.
It's not shown in the MKX Story Mode, but Sub-Zero was reverted to his human self by Quan Chi in the MKX comic book tie-in. Quan Chi literally exploded Cyber Sub-Zero's robot body and recreated his flesh and organs to have him become a Revenant -- that's why Sub-Zero is evil and human in the beginning of MKX.

For the next MK games, as well as Injustice series, you should react to VMan's gameplay. He did whole story modes for those games and his gameplay is on point. Plus you could experience the fights, as well as VMan's funny comments.
I happened to watch MK 9 last week, I liked the story and SPOILERS (including some for MK X and 11)....... The ending was really sad, to see all those fighters die and becomes evil remnants, Unfortunately Raiden did not realize what his vision meant until it was too late. The only ones left for Raiden at that point were Johnny and Sonya alongside Fujin and the blind guy (I apologize, I did not memorize his name yet). No wonder Raiden decided to use the medalian at the end of MK X, he lost so much that he can't accept any more suffering, even the Elder Beings did not decided to help him until Shao Khan broke their rule. This was more like Raiden' story from MK 9 to 11.
It wasn’t Sub-Zero that killed Scorpions family and clan, you will see in MK X what really happened, you can even notice in the MK 9 Story Line before Scorpion kills Sub-Zero, Sub-Zero says THAT WAS NOT ME! So before you start Watching MK X just know that Sub-Zero is innocent, and that he was framed for that massacre because he was a threat for the villains, just like Raiden said in MK 9 HE ONCE DEFENDED EARTHREALM FROM BOTH SHINNOK & QUAN CHI!

Great run! Sorry I missed it when it happened, I had a busy last few days. I LOVE this game, kind of redefined and set a new bar for what the story mode could be in action fighting games. Netherrealm Studios has been knocking it out of the park with their campaign modes from this game on, with not just MKX and MK11 but also Injustice 1 and 2. One thing to at least be aware of when you do the Story Mode for MKX, they have a few parts during cutscenes that use quick-time events where you have to press a prompted button quickly for things to play out the way you'd prefer them to. I don't think any of them outright end the story in a failure if you miss them, but you might end up having to do an important fight with less health to start or something. I didn't much love that inclusion, myself (and Injustice is WAY worse, some of the cutscene minigames are outright tedious), but thankfully they did away with it in MK11 in favor of a more pure storytelling experience. I can't wait to see more of this to come! These last 3 Mortal Kombat games have been SO good, and I personally feel the quality just goes up with each new installment. Glad you guys are getting to see the full story! Also, idk if anyone has mentioned, but when you watch the character endings, keep in mind that very few of them are considered canon. They're more like "what if So-And-So won the tournament completely, how would their victory and choices influence the fate of the realms?" Fun little scenarios, some great and some less so lol...but all are neat to see how it could have gone down. :)
I love this game mkX and Mk11 my favorite characters are noob, sub zero (the second one) and Ermac min,y because they are 3 I played in Mk9 in mkX I have played most of the roster and in mk11 I played noob and sub zero again. Cool characters that are dlc are kratos (from god of war ps3 exclusive) he was in mk9, tremor a rock elemental ninja was in mkX and some older games as well has a great cast of dlc like alien, predator, leather face, Jason vorhese, and bo ri cho (one more i don’t remember) but mk11 added in a bunch of classic characters and other cool dlc guest like spawn and my favorite The Joker. I love the games and the way they add cool guest characters as dlc.
Also noob is behan (could be spelled wrong) the fist sub zero the one scorpion murders. The second sub zero his brother is the sub zero from all rather games after and his name is kui leang (again I can’t spell the names well). I just like dropping facts that people my not see or realize small details and I have played the games so much and enjoy them even if I am mediocre at the game.
I just place the game in the absolute easiest difficulty, cause story mode makes you play every character and I don't have the time nor the interest to become proficient with every character. Most I'll ever do is learn how to play two characters.
Yeah we read that even in easiest difficulty it can be tough though. Which seems silly. Like if we just want to play and have fun and see a good story, can’t they just make the fights stupid easy 😂🤗

Whoever kills him gains omnipotent power he merged all the realms with a thought when you see him blazing. But Raiden can change time so that gives him a huge edge lol. Then he becomes all powerful and kills Shao Kahn as you saw and then does something to Shinnok that's messed up lol. I missed joining the live-stream this time, but will try make it for the MK 10 one. :) Ps3 is a good console (mine's always ready for further use, but has so far ben placed in the shelf since Ps4 got in the house). Know (coco)nuthin' about advanced pc-stuff and so, but if capacity is the issue for the card not working, maybe Ps4 are more compatible with it. The price for that platform might be/get lower by time, when 5 starts getting sold more after it's issues are eventually fixed. ^^

Kingdom Hearts is a great series. But the story is unnecessarily convoluted and it was a bit of a dick move to have to own multiple platforms to know all of the story

To be fair, this was first intended to be a livestream playing the game and then due to our capture card not working we switched at last minute to just watching the storymode because we had already postponed it several times for personal reasons 😇🤗

I missed joining the live-stream this time, but will try make it for the MK 10 one. :) Ps3 is a good console (mine's always ready for further use, but has so far ben placed in the shelf since Ps4 got in the house). Know (coco)nuthin' about advanced pc-stuff and so, but if capacity is the issue for the card not working, maybe Ps4 are more compatible with it. The price for that platform might be/get lower by time, when 5 starts getting sold more after it's issues are eventually fixed. ^^

Kingdom Hearts is a great series. But the story is unnecessarily convoluted and it was a bit of a dick move to have to own multiple platforms to know all of the story

Don't be ashamed of not going through the story mode via a video, I often do that when I wanna see the story of a game I just am not gonna be any good at doing. To be fair it mostly pretains to games I'm interested in but I'm more or less an absolute loser at the game.
