These videos are years old but still the best on you tube, and it's so much easier to watch a video than page through my manual with my eyesight! Just done my engine and transmisson oil, but forgot to reset the oil change light, so I need to watch another MicBergsma video... Many thanks Mitch, these vids are fantastic!
Thank You! My first time ever changing the oil in anything myself, and your instructions were clear as can be. Appreciate You!
Great video! Changed my oil and filter on my 03 Burgman 400. Video was on point. Took about 15 mins bc I was looking at the video to confirm. Thanks!
Very well done. Instructive, thorough, tidy and without annoying background music!
Excellent Tutorials Mitch, Very clear and explainitory. Beyond compare
Excellent, easy-peasy, lemon squeezy, thank you!
And next time, wear your helmet for the test ride, we need those brains to make more helpful videos.
Thank you! First change on the scoot and other than getting gushed on it went well!!
Thank you for the vid! It's going to be my first oil change, on my first scooter. You have the same one so I'm hoping you have other videos for spark plug coolant flush, ECT...
If not it doesn't matter this video was great!! Enough to get me started I'll check out your other videos thank you again.
Lol I already have the oil !!!! Just making sure haha so happy third day I’ve owned my Bergman just put 350 miles on it up the mountains !!!! I love this tourer !!
Even tho the video doesn't recommend an oil, I use Traveller (Tractor Supply) diesel oil 15W40. An almost-exact duplicate of Shell Rotella T. Extremely tough oil. With the itsy-bitsy filter, I would recommend changing every 4K or 5K, or one year, whatever comes first. BTW, you can get the Traveller oil on sale at TSC for $21.99 for 2.5 gallons ($2.20 a quart). Or sometimes you can find it for $9 a gallon ($2.25 a quart). Also, putting some synthetic oil in is very beneficial (synthetic oil chemically bonds with metal surfaces). Take your pick: Shell Rotella T6, Mobil One, etc. Like, the first 8 ounces?? Or, go expensive and just use synthetic oil (Shell Rotella T6 at wallyworld = $21.36 a gallon.)
no problem, I think best to stay with OEM bolt... but you can try home depot, hope they have the right one - metric
You cannot see the level by threading the rod, you have to insert the rod and without threading it, see it
This is interesting)) thanks for this material. very useful for my Suzuki
hi Mitch,
Thanks for all these great videos!
I have one question about oil consumption. Do you have any solution about it? new different pistons 82+mm or whatever?
Thank you very much!
Nice oil chang video! Wonder how long those tires last in miles. Buying a used one with 6k mi. to me that's almost a new bike!
you can find it on suzukipartshouse website or call the dealer :)
Hi mate iwatch your videos from here in the uk, i am just about to get a 06 burghman just wondering what grade oil you recommend when i change the oil. Thanks Neil
fantastic video thanks very mucj
Hello. I need to replace the bulb in the front light on the Burgman 400 K9. Do not you have a video?
Маслом фильтр не пропитал перед установкой, может порвать при первом пуске двигателя.
The oil does not impregnate the filter before installation, it can tear when the engine is first started.
You have shown the incorrect way to check oil level. You screwed the dipstick in completely to check the oil level. THIS IS INCORRECT. After removing and wiping the dipstick, replace it in the opening, but do NOT screw it in. The method you showed will always leave the oil level TOO LOW. Check your owner's manual.
And I think that's a mistake. In my instruction for Malaguti Madison wrote that one should not howl.
I hope my oil indicator light goes off with the oil change, i ran it a bit low and added a quart. GREAT video!!!
+aci hawaii "Low" doesn't mean "add a quart". The high/low area on your dipstick doesn't represent one quart, as with automobile dipsticks. I suggest adding 4 ounces and then recheck.
if you need to ad a quart that's more than a lire she,s f,,,,,,,,,,d
Thanks dude! They pretty much have it all but, still having a hard time finding that black bolt :( Would it be okay to take out the other one and try to match it at Home Depot? Or stick to OEM?
Thanks.
I think I remember it's on right side on the engine... find valve clearance on 03-06 400 video you would see it...
Guys, there is a video on replacing the gasket pump?
Hey mic,
I see that you're taking the burgman on long trips..
I'm thinking of taking mine for a 2000klm trip..
Do you think the belt and engine can handle a trip like that while running at 80kph?
Hot engine better....gets all particles out, Any 15/40 w diesel oil is fine....has Zinc in it, like JASO MA oils.
excellent video
Also it helps with draining if you take the dipstick out before the sump plug
Que aceite podría echarle ala burman porque lo consume que podría hacerle claro que no sea habrirla
Can someone tell me the part number of one of those two black bolts at 16 seconds?? One flew off of the scooter while on the highway and need to replace. Thanks
@1951abcd ya that's fine
Hi Mitch: I couldn't find your email address as I was going to email you a photo of Page 52 of my AN400 manual regarding checking your oil for a 2004 Suzuki Burgman. It states that the oil stick should NOT be screwed in after filling to check the oil. In other words, the oil stick should be stuck into the crank case, but not screwed into the crank case to check the level on the level indicator. Otherwise, you are short-changing the oil level in the crankcase. Just thought you'd want to know
I've changed my oil, reset, and a week later my oil light come back on. There is enough oil in the tank and its clean with a new filter. Anyone have any idea what the light is trying to indicate.
Thanks from 'Italy
I would've put in Royal Purple oil.
@jihadmassih1 hmmm..... royal purple, amsoil.... with full synthetic
Ok which is it... I have an 2004.. Does the arrow go up or down on the casing.. I have seen it done both ways anyone ??
what a guy!
is it same process on models 2001-2003 thanks for reply..
+Mladen Mikic I think so, might be little different
hey guys, what is the other drain plug for? (same size). you can see it at 0:15 seconds. by mistake, i first unscrew that plug and little oil got released. afraid that I did not let other oil go out - have a better image here (drain plug is marked red): drive.google.com/open?id=0B3sFO9075ZPkeGJJcW1ZWU9XQlU
I think 1800 ML...
Anyone have a link to an 03-06 Burgman 400 air cleaner replacement video? TIA.....
Don't have a vid, but download the manual - it's on page 2-4. You can wash the filter in water + dish soap.
Thanks Bro-ham.
hey man..what is the best motor oil used for burgman AN400??
I am putting motul scooter expert 10w-40 in my suzuki epicuro 150 it is the best oil i can find for her
I guess I should have looked at the previous comments before posting mine! Duh!
Mobil 1 Racing
You DON'T thread the dipstick in to check the level!!
correct I was wondering when or if anyone would cop that ???
THE OIL INSPECTION DIP STICK IS A BITCH TO UNSCREW... CANT GET YOUR FINGERS IN THERE ...SO TIGHT ... AND NEED A PLIERS TO FINALLY GET IT OUT.. .. THEN ON THE 07 THEY PUT IT ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE BIKE..??????
THE MANUAL SHOWS A PICTURE WITH THE ARROW DOWN. NO WRITTEN COMMUNICATION IN THE MANUAL
You have the wrong manual. This is a 2004 Suzuki. The one with the arrow down, in a newer model, like 2007.
