    How did you apply vacuum to the engine so you could hear the leak without starting the engine?

    I believe the latest revision is 06F129101P for K03 and 06F129101R for K04 cars. Cheers.

    Great video .Excellent.Bought a car with pcv delete and smoking a lot on overrun.Fitting oe pcv to make it breath better.
    I noticed that the pcv replacement has a small hole (seems to be to atmosphere) while the old pcv didn't !Why is that ?Is it part of the updated pcv ?Cheers

    The one that you put on does not have the little tube that was blowing air out of the other one? why is it different?

    I have a 1.6 BGU engine, not a TSI or TDI, there's a circular part of some kind that looks like a PCV, leaking hot exhaust gas(?) however it's under the center manifold. Anyone knows if its the PCV or not?

    How loud would this noise be?? My 07 golf started making a really loud whistling/whining noise when my wife got home in it the other day. She said it started just as she was parking the car, It was really loud. I could hear it from inside the house, and she parked about 20 meters down the street from our house.

    could this be the reason why mk5 Gti is idling so roughly and revving from around 800-1200 on its own?

      William Piper thanks mate, will have to get it checked again tbh... car starts up fine an power doesn’t seem to be lost anywhere in the Rev range... just had it serviced too

      Nah, there could be lots of other reasons. But this one too. If it’s the same, try changing the engine mounts, or cleaning the carbon build up on valves, or diverter valve, etc

    Just curious what codes if any did you have pop up that had you do this job?

    Hi, a few days ago the car accelerates alone, it even comes under the 2000 rpm without me touching the pedal also the engine seems not to go well, then I tried to remove the oil cap is powered access, suddenly he started to mumble and he did like a suction of air and he lost shots, what do you say is the broken pcv? also I should also change diverter valvle? that piece that's underneath?

    • @williampiper1015
      @williampiper1015  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Could be pcv valve. But also check the spark plugs and ignition coils. If the diverter valve goes you should notice a drop in power at the high end of the rev range, I replaced mine anyway.

      @@williampiper1015 ah ok I already have a new pcv, but it is a piece bought on the internet that is slightly different, but that's okay for my mk5 gti? I'll try to assemble it and I'll let you know .. thank you very much

    Had a hissing sound after stopping the engine, right after a cam follower replacement. isnt sure if pcv or brakebooster leak.

    • @williampiper1015

      +Fungist aka (B-laze) The easiest things to check is the dipstick and oil cap. If they are not loose then try putting your finger on the pcv valve like I did in the video to diagnose it to that. If that's not the problem then perhaps your diverter valve at the back of the engine or there could be a split in intercooler piping perhaps. Hope this helps.

      You don't need to replace if it hasn't failed, but if your car has significant miles I would replace it because they do tear frequently

    Will this make the car show a cel?

    • @williampiper1015
      @williampiper1015  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      A check engine light maybe shown as a result of a faulty PCV valve. Replacement of the valve may remove the cel after a few miles.

      Can you see or how can you see Its a bad one?
      My roadster TT 2.0 tfsi is Burning lot of oil, i can’t see any leak.
      Also i have cel, because of P0441.’can you help?
      Thank you

      @@sarfrazashraf5912 You will hear a hissing noise if the pcv valve has gone just like in the start of the video. As for the oil. These engines drink the stuff, it's quoted as 1 litre per 1000 miles

    Why not just do the common pcv delete kit instead?

    • @trash08
      @trash08 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Its not really for performance, more of convenience so you never have to deal with this again. Its just one of those things that make the car overall a better more reliable car when the manufacture fails. Should still consider it :)
