Wow man. Mad respect to you for continuing to put out content despite all the BS people say who don’t even have channels of their own. This was a confirmation for me. I noticed my skills improved tremendously since I stopped trying to find the perfect location but focused on creating the perfect shot. It’s definitely rewarding and a true confidence booster. Keep doing your thing champ!
8:00. No judgement here brother. You did the exact same thing I’d do. Leading Lines☑️. High speed sync ☑️. Cover model with soft box and use the sun to saturate the background with color☑️. Love the pics
honestly, that is why I love you manny because you are legit and what I mean by it is that you did not change much from a few years ago I've been on your channel for a few years .. I like it how you don't take bullshit from no one. doing something is better than doing nothing while sitting on your chair and writing criticism instead of going out there and making something for yourself. love it looks like you are having much fun. btw great video
Manny! Thank you for this! I am in PA in December. Nothing good to look at; no snow. I am used to seeing you shoot in prime locations. I loved that you did a video like this! It made my day.
When on location I know I tend to forget everything I’ve ever learned. So I know about the pressure. But thankfully as things go along, the photoshoots end up being fun and successful.
Besides your skills, your humility and transparency are your biggest assets. All your videos are magic and inspiring. Thanks for helping me get better!
Back in the film days, I still do it today, we used to use 35mm slides with the film removed to look thru to help visualize composition. The closer to the eye was like looking thru a wide angle and hold it out further from the eye would be like looking thru a tele.
Blurring before looking through the lens is brilliant. So simple and never considered it myself. The little things...great job and thanks for today's bit of gained knowledge.
A really great vid, Manny! It's so easy to be in a fantastic location where the light is working, the colours are popping and for vloggers it's easy to just choose the videos where the conditions are right. So thank you for reminding us that you are just like us, sometimes in average locations but still able to make the best of the location if we just take the time to open our eyes and see 📸 love watching your videos and always look forward to seeing them, thank you!!!
Talent facing the Sun to light the background, and using the strobe to block the Sun on the model, controling the amount of light with the strobe on the model, was an awesome tip. Thank you for posting, Most Sincerely Ron.😎
This was super helpful. Love the seemingly obvious tip of focusing the foreground and then “previewing” what the background looks like blurry. Can’t believe I didn’t think of that! Lol
Killed it! Always a pleasure watching your content. Those shots were so good! I'd love to see a similar video, without using a fast lens. Just straight composition with everything in focus. That's what I struggle with 😭😭😭 lol
Bro, that lens/lighting combo really renders some amazing separation. The colors you pulled out of that dull location are great. Especially love the yellows.
Excellent tutorial. I struggle with this during the winter but I’m looking forward to trying these techniques now - thanks! And Julie is a beautiful and talented model.
Respect on the camera! I didn't realize you were shooting with a Nikon body, thought you were straight Sony, but that's cool that you're willing to shoot multiple brands and not just press one over another.
I love your work!!! Love it! The colors in your photos are fantastic. I wish more people would keep the colors more natural the way you do. Excellent stuff!
This video helped me a lot ..... Whenever I am shooting in a bad location .. I end up getting pretty bad images, but your video helped me and I am now able to shoot at a bad location 🙏🙏 . . Pls make a video on how to retouch the images and how to color grade them because people like me are not able to buy your presets 😅😅
I have this issue so much living and working around an Industrial market town! The biggest part of the town is a steel works plant. I'll definitely be using this info to help get better photos.
Those photos were AMAZING! And compliments to the model for being brilliant. She actually looks very much like Alicia Silverstone, especially ”that face” at 4:48. :) great inspirational video.
Dude, incredible tip focusing in front, and looking through viewfinder while everything is blurred. So simple but never thought of that! Thanks
You can Manual focus so the background is blurry then do a 360 view to see what will be the best background.

Manny .... How to take amazing photo’s in ugly locations.
Manny .... “Let me introduce a stunningly beautiful model”.
Me .... Hmmm
And using a 105 f1.4 to destroy the background.
Good way to guareentee 😀😀😂
So basically , do everything the location does not matter😂
Photography life hack 🤣
seems one of those people who buys a lot of gear and then thinks he’s a good photographer. i do not see anything special in his work
"Everything looks different when it's blurred out" - Manny, 2020
Also me, when I remove my glasses 🤓😂
Hahaha
Everything looks different when its your first time on a new location. Lol

thank you for literally GOING OUT and doing these. Super helpful. God bless.
That location is actually great compared to where i mostly shoot
The Z6 & a 105 1.4 is super crispy
Manny! Thank you for this! I am in PA in December. Nothing good to look at; no snow. I am used to seeing you shoot in prime locations. I loved that you did a video like this! It made my day.
Love the red bush pics.. So the whole defocus techniques from other video of yours has saved me a couple times. Awesome vid bro!
Manny, you never disappoint, I always find new ideas in all your videos. Great job and keep it up brother!
I use the unfocused background technique every time I shoot now! Thank you!
Back in the film days, I still do it today, we used to use 35mm slides with the film removed to look thru to help visualize composition. The closer to the eye was like looking thru a wide angle and hold it out further from the eye would be like looking thru a tele.
Great photos Manny and Julie. Julie must have been freezing. It is always nice to see your photos. Gives me inspiration.
next time: Amazing locations, bad model.
Bad kinda harsh maybe inexperienced lol.
How about photographing the lighting guy next time?
“They see me rollin” 🤣🤣 I’m ded, that was perfect.
Blurring before looking through the lens is brilliant. So simple and never considered it myself. The little things...great job and thanks for today's bit of gained knowledge.
Fantastic
Manny getting better and better

Started watching you yesterday and I'm looking forward to watch your new videos bro. You're such an inspiration. 😌, that's how I judge you! 😎❤️
Thanks for your channel. I’m just starting out and this is the real world advice I need. You do excellent work
Talent facing the Sun to light the background, and using the strobe to block the Sun on the model, controling the amount of light with the strobe on the model, was an awesome tip.
Thank you for posting,
Most Sincerely
Ron.😎
That tip about looking at the background blurred out is really good. Thanks!
Kudos to Julia, a real star given the weather conditions 👌
Love these tye of videos from you because I think we all struggle a little with not so good looking spots. Thanks Manny.
Great ideas love the soft box idea blocking out the sun
Yet another awesome video. Thanks Manny! Learned a lot here too
This was super helpful. Love the seemingly obvious tip of focusing the foreground and then “previewing” what the background looks like blurry. Can’t believe I didn’t think of that! Lol
Great advises, thanks man! Awesome to see that you used Nikon Z6!
Killed it! Always a pleasure watching your content. Those shots were so good! I'd love to see a similar video, without using a fast lens. Just straight composition with everything in focus. That's what I struggle with 😭😭😭 lol
All you videos are so helpful in this aspect Manny!! Thanks for teaching us 😀
Great video dude!!! I learn something new with you all the time! Thanks a lot!
I love Julia! She’s the BEST! Great video man!
Very useful video, Manny! I will use those techniques in my future shoots!
Great tips man!
You rock Manny. And Julie. Kudos to your assistant as well.
Bro, that lens/lighting combo really renders some amazing separation. The colors you pulled out of that dull location are great. Especially love the yellows.
Great, useful tips, Manny and props to Julie. She was a trooper!
This series of videos are my favorite by far!
Excellent tutorial. I struggle with this during the winter but I’m looking forward to trying these techniques now - thanks! And Julie is a beautiful and talented model.
Bro that wagon is brilliant!!!
@MannyOrtiz Please do a review on that wagon!!! get that sponsorship money bro
Wagon?
Respect on the camera! I didn't realize you were shooting with a Nikon body, thought you were straight Sony, but that's cool that you're willing to shoot multiple brands and not just press one over another.
Great job! I love how honest you are!!
Dude a beast! Those photos are FIRE!
Nice thanks for the tips. Just what I was looking for. Keep up the good work!!
Yeah awesome tip on front focusing blurring out the back ground. Plus a couple of others. Wonderful video as usual.

my new favorite TH-camr , keep doing it ..
Awesome work Manny and Julie!
I love your work!!! Love it! The colors in your photos are fantastic. I wish more people would keep the colors more natural the way you do. Excellent stuff!
This was fantastic! Thanks for taking us BTS and letting us in on your thought process. Looking for a background while out of focus... that's gold!
Great video! Your model and her posing is absolutely amazing too. Thumbs up!
Excellent and inspiring video once again. This is just the situation here in Finland like a 8 months in a year when enviroment looks like puke.
Thanks again Manny... another really useful video 👍🏼
And what a beautiful model 👌🏻
The shots look great Manny.
Thanks Manny, always a pleasure to watch you work :-)
Can you tell me the name of the hdmi recorder? It looks so portable
Good content right here. So many will say they do not have locations, but do if they work for it. This is solid.
with 85 f1.2 I can do this all day even in my kitchen))
Good video. For 135mm, I place my fingers in a circle in front of me to frame the shot. I never used the blurred method with framing. That's dope.
I live in Michigan so once winter hits my camera pretty much sits in my bag until this hell goes away, thank god I'm not a professional photographer.
That model is freaking stunning. I learned a lot from this video. Thank you
This video helped me a lot ..... Whenever I am shooting in a bad location .. I end up getting pretty bad images, but your video helped me and I am now able to shoot at a bad location 🙏🙏
.
.
Pls make a video on how to retouch the images and how to color grade them because people like me are not able to buy your presets 😅😅

Aye fam these were dope af. Definitely one of my sticking points is making the best out of the spots in my area. Sending love from home in Chicago!
the haters are clearly starting to effect you. you have wisdom share it and i pray in the future you ignore the haters at least during your videos
Excellent job bro. Great job I learned a lot
nice one, love watching these shots. Have you considered making a video about taking a good shot of your self in a crap location lol... well needed.
Love these tips! I would have never thought about unfocusing it like you did! Thanks for the info!
Good to see u returning to Nikon and Z6... 3.0 update did bring you back

Hey thanks man! Your content definitely inspires and helps me a lot!
Lol. Arm chair photographer. That is the best!!!
You can also use the light deflector/difusor to block the sun light in situations like this.
Such a cool tip about the focusing part.So you switched back to Nikon huh? Thank you for sharing the awesome tips!
Nope. I just like how I can record the EVF with it
@@MannyOrtiz yes I noticed that and thought at first you were using sony, lol.
Those photos were AMAZING! And compliments to the model for being brilliant. She actually looks very much like Alicia Silverstone, especially ”that face” at 4:48. :) great inspirational video.
