Wow,What wonderful footage.I enjoyed so much,I watched it again. It’s such a magical little bird, and when it flew out of the barn ,wow what a moment! Obviously a difficult bird to capture,so thank you for all your time in making it,it certainly was worth it.What’s coming next, can’t wait,👍Alison.
Thanks Alison, I really enjoyed spending time with the Owls, such addictive subjects and amazing to watch them hunt as they quarter and glide over the long grass! Plenty of projects coming soon. R 👍
Wow Richard that was fantastic the opening footage, of the Barn owl coming out of the barn and rising above the roof truly magnificent, and the Barn owl hunting in the field was outstanding, had to watch it twice well done Richard thank you for sharing your video and photos Regards Martyn.
Thanks so much Martyn, great to have you watching and supporting the channel! The videos took quite a bit of time and due to the time of year working with the Owls is always difficult but I wanted to get it in early to hopefully help others to get out and enjoy the owls early in the season. My pleasure as always Richard.👍
Magical little video Richard. I love that opening shot with the Barn Owl appearing out of the barn. They are such beautiful birds to watch as they hunt silently over the fields. Great series. Cheers Keith
Thanks Doug, really enjoying doing these Vlogs and to include some viewers pictures was nice to do and some great images. Top bloke Steve with a good channel 👍
That post is exactly why I subscribed to you in the first place !! Excellent results Richard!!! Really love the film 🎥 footage of the Barn Owl just brilliant!!!!! Can’t wait for your next subject!! Again great Saturday evening viewing! Take care as always 🖐🏻👍
Thats superb of you to say and I really enjoying doing these Vlogs, lots more projects to come from me and especially as the spring is just around the corner. Plus I will be visiting a new site for Barn Owls very soon, it's in an amazing location so more to come there! Cheers for now, Richard 👍
Thanks for watching Matthew, I couldn't agree with you more, they never fail to give me such a great Buzz! Barn Owls & Hen Harriers are my favourite by far! All the best R 👍
Great video Richard, loved the footage of the barn owl hovering. Fab stills as well, thanks for the mention mate, much appreciated. All the best Steve.
Richard I've watched your videos on the barn owls and been out this evening to a site I saw owls last year I took your advise regarding bad weather and when I got there the heavens opened for about 15 mins until just after 6pm then it cleared at 6:25 the barn owl was out hunting for about ten minutes thanks to you I put what I learnt into practice many thanks
Thats awesome news Steven, great to hear your story and fingers crossed for many more experiences like that in the coming months. Barn Owls hate bad weather and often cache lots of prey to get through lean times, but after a while they run out! All the best R 👍
Hi Richard Once again stunning photos and video. Nice to see the other photographers photos too amazing images . Thank you for bringing all the hard work and time n effort to these videos really enjoy them and learn so much thank you .

Thank you Richard for putting the series together. Wonderful footage with great music to complement them, which also added to the enjoyment factor. I look forward to putting into practice what I have learned, now I just need to find one, but that's all part of the fun hey. 😀
Thanks very much Dean and it's my pleasure and so glad you enjoyed the series.. Fingers crossed you get lucky, please let me know how you got on. All the best R 👍

That’s great to hear Steven and so glad done if it helped. Well done on getting some great views, I hope you manage to get some great shots as well as memories. All the best R 👍
Hi Richard. I discovered your channel this morning. I've been told about a potential barn owl 'site' close to where I live and I was searching YT for barn owl photography methods. I've been transfixed this morning and into the afternoon watching parts 1, 2 + 3. I've really enjoyed watching this series and I have learned some things along the way. Thanks for sharing. I worked with a pair of kingfisher last year, I am licenced at a nest site. I got some keepers but I'm hoping to do better this year now I'm more confident and know the area better. I'm going to watch your kingfisher videos now. thanks, Dale.
Hi there Dale, thanks very much indeed for Subscribing to the channel, and really glad you liked the series of Barn Owls, certainly one of my favourite birds to watch and photograph! Thats awesome news on the Kingfishers, another great favourite of mine but as you've probably seen if you watched my TH-cam video success wasn't very good, lol... Something I hope to spend much more time doing in the New Year! Fingers crossed I get some result as do you. All the best and have a great Christmas. Cheers Richard 👍
@@RichardBirchett Yes very lucky with the light mine came out before sunset. The first minute of my Sony A 1 part two video of my latest video features these owls awesome birds !
Excellent video Richard plus the stills shots from your talented contributors, this 3 part vid got to me so much I had to have a go and at my 2nd attempt bingo, my 1st ever shots of a wild barn owl, 6.15pm terable light and a bunch of grainy images can be seen on Facebook , Somerset Nature Photography. But the experience was amazing, mainly thanks for your inspiration, I thank you more than you can believe,
Hi Mike, so kind of you to say means a lot and even more glad you got some shots even though the light was shocking, lol.. I will be sure to check it out, the experience I find is always so much better than any photograph, but that certainly is a bonus! Really pleased some little tips have helped. All the best R 👍
You just have to love a barn owl, jus a shame they are not down here where I live in southern Germany, we do have quite a long eared though. Great vlog Richard.
Hi Ian, thanks very much for watching! That is a shame but a LEO! Wow, quite scarce here in the UK, I've still never seen one! Maybe one day. Cheers R 😀
Spectacular images of such a beautiful bird! Great video, Richard! I think I need to change my name to Steve for a better chance at capturing Barn Owls!
Excellent stuff again Richard. Lovely to see a good friend of mine in Steve Reeve have some of his work featured too 👏 Keep on keeping on as the saying goes, I really enjoy your vlogs. 👌

Nice vid Richard. I must admit I don't bother with barnies until about late April onward. Low light high iso images don't clean up so well in my experience. Great to watch though.

Evening Richard can I ask your advice yet again is it ok to keep my camera and lens in my camera rucksack all the time. I am just wondering if it's ok obviously being in a centrally heated house could it damage them in any way thanks again for your time. Carl
Hi Carl, its not a problem always happy to help out where I can, as long as its well protected it should be fine. Just keep in mind if you go from a cold to warm environment condensation can build up in the camera body and lens so its better to gradually introduce it back in to a warm environment to stop any fungal build up. Put inside a plastic bag or leave it so get use to the change in temp. Use silica gel packs in the bag or cupboard to reduce any moisture. Hope that helps. R
