Well, I f el like the Little Train That Could . . . I CAN paint this, I CAN paint this. 😆 and I’m excited to paint it. 😊 Thank you, Kolbie. This is going to be great.
I am so grateful for your work, Kolbie! A couple of years ago, my teenage son and daughter and I tried our hand at art tutorials. My daughter was often frustrated with the results. When I saw your tutorial and said I wanted to try it, the kids wished me luck and told me that it I was probably wasting my time because it wasn't going to come out anywhere near that cool. At the end of 35 minutes, we were all blown away by what I had created. You made it so accessible, and I felt so accomplished. I used what I learned to teach my older daughter when she came home from college, and now she is practicing all the time, using it as a meditative break from school work, and hosting paint nights for friends at her apartment. Two of her friends asked for watercolor supplies for Christmas! We have family paint nights too. I love seeing how our individual personalities show through, even as we all follow the same tutorial. You have absolutely inspired us all to use to knowledge we have gained to to experiment and be creative regularly. I've lost track of how many people I have shared your work with because of the impact it has had on us. You are making a beautiful difference in the world!
Hi Kolbie, I just finished day 8! 2 more to go! I just wanted say that I have really enjoyed the challenges and your teaching style. Thanks you so much!
Such a pretty painting...the light really sparkles! So interesting to see how the deep dark colors make the light shine! Am lovin' this limited palette!
Kolbie, thank you for breaking this down. When I first saw it, I was VERY intimidated but you have given me a bit of inspiration to go ahead and try it! THANK YOU!
I am a beginner and was very intrigued when I saw watercolour scenes with light showing thru the trees. Thank you for showing how to add depth and light in a scene. Will definately give it a try.
Congratulations! You’ve won a copy of one of my books! To claim your prize, please send an email to kolbie@thiswritingdesk.com with your name and mailing address! :)
This was one of my favorites! I really liked the colors and learning how to do the water with reflections of the trees. One of the best things I have learned is to pause, step away and do lots of layers. Thanks You!
I love how you champion us- I came from Skillshare and I follow you on socials. I love how you champion us when we are not our 100% self. Whenever I am having a mental health check-in, an imposter syndrome moment… I go to your socials and do your mini tutorials. But equally, I find a pure meditative joy in your 10 workshops. What is art if not an imitation of life… a metaphor for it. I’ve learnt not to judge my art if I feel my art didn’t as well as planned…likewise I’ve learnt not to be too hard on my self… if things I planned didn’t end the way I thought they would. Thank you for sharing your art, an insight into your beautiful soul and thank you for telling us nay showing us to celebrate it all 🫶🏻 0:14 😊
Wow--that's stunning. Seemed scary at first, but the step-by-step instructions and your talking through the thought process makes me want to try it. "If in doubt, paint zig-zags" is such helpful advice.
Thank you for this course. I particularly enjoyed this painting and the clever way you achieved the light areas amongst the dark. Can’t wait for the next course now!
I am repeat-watching this over and over, it looks so easy but turns out so detailed. A bit scared to attempt mine but soon I will! Yours is… breathtaking. 😍
I've been working on this one for a few days. I love the colors, but you're right about it looking like a hot mess... until it doesn't! I've definitely been stretched these past 10 days and I love it!!
Your turned out so pretty - mine not so much. I am going to let is sit for a while and then look at it again. Thank you for teaching and for showing us the right way to do things and then going with the "flow".
Thank you Kolbie! I really enjoy your classes and tutorials. I’m getting better everyday.
I love the step by step break downs & the constant encouragement!

I am so excited to paint this forest. Formerly live in Washington State and all the evergreens. Now in Mesa AZ.
100% watercolour creates magic
Loved this impressionist style painting. No fuss over details.
Layering … this will test my patience 🤣 but should no doubt be worth it. Thanks for the stretch, Kolbie.
This one was SUCH a mess in the middle, but I literally told myself to trust the process like you say. So I did and was rewarded. 😊
I truly appreciate you sharing your talent with us. You make it look so easy. You make it OK to make a mess, and try again. Thanks
My heart is always in these forests
This was so fun. You can feel the quiet. The greens are hitting the spot after our hot summer and drought.
I appreciate the follow through message because what might be a big mess at one point could turn out beautiful.
I feel like I learned a lot of great new techniques in this tutorial - thank you Kolbie!
Wow painting forests have always been a challenge for me. Love these trees.
Hi Kolbie, I just finished day 8! 2 more to go! I just wanted say that I have really enjoyed the challenges and your teaching style. Thanks you so much!
Every video I watch I think I can’t do that and then I start painting and feel so amazed, I can do it!
As a fellow nature lover I can’t wait to follow your tutorials!!!
The color build up really created depth. Enjoyed the color palette.
These colors are so rich together!
start light and go darker! I shall! I had fun mixing and coloring. My painting looks very impressionist, I like it!!!
Love the light in the forest!
Such a pretty painting...the light really sparkles! So interesting to see how the deep dark colors make the light shine! Am lovin' this limited palette!
Lakes in wooded areas are a bit intimidating for me to paint, but they are also amongst my favorite scenes. Thanks for the help with them.

I also luv the rocks and how this all works out👌
I love painting with you 🙌🤩
I can't wait to sit down with this one! It is magical.
Love your advice about being okay with the messiness

This was difficult for me - but also really instructive. Thanks Kolbie.
This gives me such a peaceful feeling! Love these colors together!!
I am a beginner and was very intrigued when I saw watercolour scenes with light showing thru the trees. Thank you for showing how to add depth and light in a scene. Will definately give it a try.
I've never been good at painting forests. Can't wait to try this
Wow, your teaching approach makes the most impossible scenes seem achievable. Excited to give this one a try because it looks magical!
So lovely - both this painting and the way you explain your process. Thank you so much!
Wow! Just amazing! I love the idea of giving impression of the forest than actually painting heaps of trees! So inspiring!! Thank you.
Just loving the light in this forest! I enjoy this challenge so much, thank you!
Looking forward to coming back later and checking this out. Thanks again Kolbie
I am new to watercolor and have not learned to layer like this. This was a great demonstration and I appreciate the lesson. Thank you
You make it look easy enough for all to be able to do it… I know it’s not but I will try. Thank you again for inspiring…
Loved this! Another impressionist approach to the trees that makes it easier to make a forest!
I love seeing all the layers come together! I can’t wait to paint this now!
Love the rocks and lake colors! Amazing how you can bring to life "random" brush strokes!
Congratulations! You’ve won a copy of one of my books! To claim your prize, please send an email to kolbie@thiswritingdesk.com with your name and mailing address! :)

Stepping away has always helped me. I'm excited to give this a try!
Thank you for this landscape!!!
The colors of the forest are very beautiful and I hope to be able to paint the trees.
I think I’ll watch the video again before I start 😉
This one is so, so beautiful.
This is really pretty! I can’t wait to watch again and paint along with you.
I've really enjoyed the variety of these. Some have turned out better than others, regardless, I've enjoyed them all!
Can’t wait to bust out my jadeite for this! 🙌🏾
This one is so magical! ❤
Thank you very much!
That was amazing how it all came together! It really gives me confidence that I can paint this using watercolors
Oh my, what a challenge! I loved it. I started with this on for my 10 day challenge. On to the next! Thank you Kolbie! I’m loving your challenges!
Love the colours and depth in this one!
This was harder than I expected. I had to go with the flow and embrace the abstract outcome.
Really enjoyed watching this one. I found it so peaceful. It reminds me of a lake I grew up on. Can’t wait to give it a go.
Fun forest! Can’t wait to paint!
This was one of my favorites! I really liked the colors and learning how to do the water with reflections of the trees. One of the best things I have learned is to pause, step away and do lots of layers. Thanks You!
Love this forest and the water. Suggestion is so important and you make it do-able. Thanks Kolbie . Hope I have the time to paint this soon.💚💙

I experimented using masking liquid instead of gouache. It was fun. I really enjoyed today's lesson! Thanks Kolbie
This is so pretty - love your description of the painting and the process. I definitely am learning a lot. Many thanks for this series Kolbie!
Love the colors on this one! Beautiful!
I can't wait to start this one!
Aw man, motherhood struck and I didn't get any painting time in during naptime today. Hoping to catch up on this one tomorrow because it is GORGEOUS!
Thank you for the new series! I’ve been looking forward to it for weeks

Love the palette on this one!
This one was hard to trust, but it really did turn out very cool. I really liked this one. Maybe my favourite.
Your method of teaching makes me feel like I can do it!! (And it's OK if it isn't perfect...)
