QUESTION please, my 2000 XJ transmission is now dry/shot/fried. Used working takeouts are like $500-700. Any idea hours/cost to get that installed by some decent generic shop? 4-5hr about right?

Depends, 4x4 adds a couple hours. Pretty sure the book in this job was 8 or 9 for 4x4, maybe 6 or 7 for 4x2.
