Wonderful video! Im the same way theres stories and memories attached to all my toys and cars!!!! so refreshing to hear someone feel how i do about these things
@ yeah something to think about. i know of a few youtubers we both know that have surpassed that. and live in a hoard of hot wheels, guns, knives and failed relationships.
12:36 When I saw this casting the first few times I went "oh that's pretty cool" Then I saw the Lamley video where he spoke to the designers about working with Aston Martin and the enjoyment that the teams got out of collaborating. I took a real good second look at it the next time I was hunting and I picked up two. I have a loose one now, and honestly it might be my favorite casting. It Is a new casting representing the year I started My adult life Hot Wheels collection. I'm really looking forward to the yellow one in 2025, and my fingers and toes are crossed for the gold STH!
@@DrivingGod21 I had a similar perspective! I kind of thought it was just “okay” initially but then when I saw it in person I was blown away. Hoping you find the STH version I’m crossing my fingers for you!
I collect toy cars my whole life. I’m 47. I still have most of my childhood cars. My collection as an adult expanded a lot but I’m more into older releases. The other change is: for the past 25 years I collect them carded. I love the art and I think it’s part of the “ludicness” aspect of the model. I don’t follow the hype of new releases. Ofc Some new releases catch my attention and I have a few. However the 80s,90s and early 2000 are the ones I love to collect. Bottom line collections are like finger prints. there is not a single identical collection.
For me it was a part of my childhood that I enjoyed and I can't afford the real cars that I want so this is the next best thing. No insurance, and No storage fees!!!
Very fun video! You hit the nail on the head with your point of view about collecting. Us collectors have a passion for miniature cars. Why is that any different from anything else other people collect? As I think about my collection, there are certain pieces that I can remember which store I was at, or how long I was searching for that particular model or any number of circumstances that was part of making that particular discovery. For instance I was searching for the Ecto from Ghostbusters. Had a very difficult time finding it in the wild. I was searching for about a year. Till one day I hit a Walmart to do some hunting after work. There was a younger boy looking at the hot wheels so I stayed back and let him do his searching and gave a fellow collector some space. Then I noticed the ecto on a peg right in front of him! I stood my ground and waited hoping he wouldn't see it! Not gonna be a jerk and reach in front of him! Then I heard his mother calling him from another aisle. As soon as he left to locate her I swooped in and scooped it up!! Thats one of my stories as you say alot of your collection has a history behind it. As far as the Tomica brand, I really like them as well! Very detailed. I wish there was a distributor in the US as most of my purchases of those cars has to be through ebay at a higher cost. Anyway, cool collection! Good luck hunting!
@@bskor9722 I love this cool experience you shared! I have countless stories similar to yours and it is so fun to remember them just by looking at the car on display. Thank you for your kind words 😌
The main reason I collect is because I own 3 VW Beetles, first one I bought was for my dad and the closest thing I could get to owning one was these diecast cars. I had never even intended on getting into it, it started started from a family member having bought a VW beetle punch buggy from Jada.

@@Naztalgic refreshing for me as well! It’s such a beautiful way to store memories and experiences.
But sometimes it turns into more than a story it becomes an obsession and your room gets filled up with more than memories .

Very cool collection. I like all the memories you had for each cast👌 Sharp display case. Does it have a cover to keep the dust out?
Thank you very much for watching and for your kind words also! No dust cover for the display. It was purchased off of Etsy in 2019.

Collecting at my age right now is just me fulfilling my childhood desires, couldn't afford it before but fortune came.
