I agree. This is 100% the best this kit has sounded on any single demo Mostly including Roland’s own demo. It’s totally insane. I feel like this guy actually tuned the brain to sound awesome with the triggers, something Roland should do from a factory reset position. Starting to really think electronic kits will be the perfect use for in the studio when recording for an album. No need for tuning, changing out heads, no need to shape everything with mixing and stuff. Can already record yourself within the module with an SD card. They really do sound like real drums

@@PEP. I’m with you there. I don’t understand al the hate this module gets. The prismatic sound engine cymbals sound fantastic to me on al the mew kits 07/17/27/50x. I also see lots of people say they hear “machine gunning” on td-50, maybe I’m deaf or dumb , I don’t detect any of that MG effect at all. The new updates sounds on 50 have been long time coming. There was quite a drop in number of sounds from td-30 to td-50 and I absolutely understand the gripes about that. I also understand some people don’t like the “ Roland sound” it’s definitely has some extra processing and that’s not for everybody. I have both td-17 and the strike module. Love the drum sounds on my strike, but imo the cymbals sound soooo much better on Roland modules. Great looking kit, I’ll neve be able to afford one unless I win lottery or something similar, it’s nice to look and dream tho

Honestly Rolands Kit demos feel like random encounters in a guitar center compared to you. You play to the strength of every kit, lean into the specific features of the pads and play to the triggering limits of the processor.
With all due respect to Craig etc. Roland should give you royalties for touching their kits honestly.

I own the Cherry VAD706, and it's BRILLIANT. I came back to rewatch this video, the one that convinced me Roland was my future.
Things: The hi hats are sublime!! You don't have to think about playing them. You just... play. They're perfect.
Digital snare is fantastic, but the module is so much better that it makes the snare great. I plugged my Strike pad into the module and it's better and more sensitive than with the Strike module.
Digital ride is really sweet, but in my use, it's not much different. Not knocking it, hear me. It's a beaut. But the same test with my Strike ride, the Strike ride is well upgraded with the Roland module, that it's enough for me. Jazz players may disagree, and demand the digital ride.
EVERY PIECE is high quality, down to the hardware and anti spin cymbal bits. Heads, shells, even the packaging was outstanding. Better than my brand new acoustic kit was packed.
Sounds awesome, plays awesome, looks awesome. I could NOT be happier, regardless the price. Could've got way more pieces, drums cymbals etc with other brands, but I wanted THE BEST.

Great video 👏🏼 I love the look and the sounds aren’t bad individually, but it feels like they haven’t figured out how to mimic the sound of overhead mics. Everything sounds so isolated and the blended together in a mixer rather than listening to a good recording or live performance of a set. With the advancements in amp sims and IR tech that mimics room sound, this sounds like it’s been left behind.

I am using the mimic in combination with drum-tec 14´ and 13´ snares (+old roland td-20x toms/bassdrum) and ATV-Cymbals; my dream comes true haha!!! I dont understand why Roland Sounds are this bad for a flagship module! I truly like Roland Hardware but the drum-sounds are a complete no-go!

Awesome drumming like usually, Ralf! Thanks for this!
The responsiveness on the snare, the ride and the hats is second to none and best in class. The sounds are usually over-processed, especially snare and kick. However, they sound nice for a drum module and could be used in live situations (most people wouldn't recognize a difference anyway). What still drives me NUTS though are those toms, because they still sound (and always did) like plastic trash cans on ANY Roland module.
So, if you'll spend 8k on an electronic drum kit, just go the extra mile then and invest a few hundred bucks more for Superior Drummer or EZDrummer or any other decent VST.

All the articulations & positional sensing work really great, but in the end it also depends on the snare sound which is currently selected, how obvious the position on the pad changes the sound. It looks completely out of proportion with the rest of the kit. There's absolutely no need for it to be that long. It just takes up stage space for no reason and looks kind of dumb in my opinion. Not to mention long kicks are going out of style already in the acoustic world, they're pretty 2010. There's no doubt in my mind it plays great, and sounds good in my opinion.
