Ok, so how do you get it working with an Android phone?
You should be doing how-to videos for the official Chevrolet channel. Their videos just show off options, but never explain how they work and how to set them up. Great video, and very informative and easy to follow.

mY rext messenges was coming though on my iphone, then I signed up with XM and got a new iphone and unsure which one of these changes happen that I no longer could get texts
in my cruse my texts will not show up or is the the icon on screen in car lite up. I have tried the above video tip but no luck. Any suggestions??

Thanks for info. I have 2018 SIlverado that I just bought. I was using Car Play for texting, but was wondering about this feature. Car Play, works fantastic for texting, I love it. I'm gonna give this feature a whirl though.

I agree with Glenn, and I am using an Android. When I bought my Spark I was shown a few things about operating it and I was to read the owner's manual. The manual wasn't much help, but my roommate knew how to set up bluetooth. But Glenn is tight--their videos should be how-to for us visual learners.

My incoming text/message on MyLink screen did not work anymore on my 2019 Equinox when my iPhone 8 updated to ios14. I had to turn notifications ON under the ‘I’ Thank you !!!
I have an iPhone and 2015 Tahoe. The hands free Siri button won’t send a text message. I can only lick from the Predefined” list of 3 items. When I push hands free, it only allows calling or other searches, not texts . Help!!

To those of you having trouble getting your phones to work. What I do whenever there is an issue is I go to my Chevy guy and have them show me.
Be polite but firm with them. If they refuse to help you tell them you won’t be purchasing any vehicles from that dealership in the future. Then write a letter to that dealership with your experience. That should take care of it. Remember, you bought an expensive product. Don’t be afraid to ask for help
If your phone is paired with the truck to receive phone calls do you have to pair it again to receive text messages?

I have an IPhone 6 and just purchased a 2017 Silverado. I have followed all the steps that were described several times. I paired, changed to show notifications, un-paired and re-paired. I can send texts through the voice recognition but the MyLink still will not display incoming texts. Any suggestions?

Jerry Luna you need a different radio. You probably have the io5. The io6 has the texting feature as well as factory navigation. I'm stuck with the io5 for now but I'm hoping to upgrade over the summer. I want to upgrade so that I have the free factory navigation instead of the lousy OnStar navigation that you have to pay for.
I've done all the steps but on phone doesn't show notifications .
I’m not a tech with this stuff but I need my phone plugged in to the vehicle for it to work. I use an apple 8 and talk through Siri. Hope this helps
I have a 2015 Chevy Trax. my screen doesn't look anything like yours--no colorful icons, just menu lists (vin KL7CJLSB5FB060148). do I have an older version? can I get an update at my Chevy dealer? I can't currently get texts on-screen (or at least everything I've tried has failed), despite being connected via Bluetooth. I'm using Android OS.
Jody, Great question! The 2015 Trax uses a BYOM (Bring your own media) MyLink. That interface does not support on screen texting. If you're using android you can access your voice commands on your phone by pushing and holding your talk button on the right side of the steering wheel. This would help you dictate and have messages read to you. Thanks for watching and let us know how that worked for you!
i have a Chevy 2016 equinox does not show Chevy my. link,but it does show my car..i almost have given up ,when i get a text the phone just vibrates...nothing shows on display,at wits end thanks,rick
Rick, Your 2016 Equinox should have standard MyLink but may not have this "texting" button. The best thing for you to use is the "Siri Eyes Free" option if you have a iPhone. Once your phone is paired with the Equinox, you can hold down the "voice command" button on the steering wheel until you hear the Siri chime over the audio. At that point, Siri is listening and will function as normal so you can fire away your questions and commands...like "Text so & so...." "What is the current weather"..."What does the fox say"....etc. We hope this helps :)
Try plugging it in to the truck. My iPhone will only work that way. Technology is so confusing as I’m older and not into this stuff
i have a 2016 silverado with 8" screen but has on star so it doesn't have the iPhone icons how do i get my iphone icons instead of onstar or am i screwed?

well i bought a Silverado in August and totaled it in sept and that truck had the my link that would do the apple CarPlay (the icons on 7" screen) the replacement silverado is a more expensive truck and it has the 8" display with on star and lost the ability to connect phone via a lighting connector in the armrest i now have to use turn by turn navigation i think its called but at the end of my 6 month free i will have to pay something like 35$ a month for the service and i wanted to know if i can ditch the on star and have apple CarPlay instead? sorry if I'm a little long winded
You may have purchased a Silverado model without the Apple CarPlay software. Some models were released without the CarPlay. I can easily tell you if you provide your VIN number
I have a 2016 with an iPhone. I need my phone plugged in. The truck basically told me what to do to set up once I plugged it in.
Take it to your dealer and ask them to get it working. You paid for the truck so they should be willing to help you out. If not tell them your next vehicle will be purchased elsewhere. Stand your ground but be polite
