I highly recommend fighting all opponents in Hearthome Gym as they are the only trainers in the game with a Drifloon (which you need to see for the National Dex). Otherwise, you can only see Drifloon on a Friday next to Floaroma Town (and no, you can't get Drifloon by changing the Switch's date, doing so locks you out of all time-based events for 24 hours)
Don't it work if you change the time to 1 minute until Friday then load into the game before the minute passes? (Pretty sure it'll still lock you out of time events though)

Platinum you can get an Eevee in the story, as well as backlot. Fortunately the remakes make this all the easier if you want to move it from Pokémon Home or previous generations.
Considering that you get one from Leo (is that how the Kanto-Johto PC guy is named in English?) also just like that in Kanto and Johto games, I'd say this was and still is a nice detail reference to keep in.
I remember being a little kid playing Platinum (my first game) and being miserable there was no legitimate method to get Mew, my favorite Pokémon. Here we are over ten years later and they're just handing them out like lollipops. I don't know if I'm happy or angry that modern children playing the game will never know the agony that was following convoluted fake TH-cam tutorials telling you about one specific grass patch that has a level 50 Mew that can only be found after releasing your starter pokemon and naming a Magikarp Gary.

@@Anotherdonny Jirachi is more of a support w/ moves largely benefitting a Pokémon in double battles or itself, as a result it's better off with that role. Mew is pretty flexible and can learn every TM/HM so you have a choice on what Pokémon you want it to be good against, so I'd go for Mew. Give it a move effective against dark/ghost to be safe tho!

@@RebirthOG And ORAS are RS remakes yet many quality of life updates were added. These are "faithful" remakes and still make massive quality of life updates. The grand underground? Literally having more than 2 fire type evolution lines before the end game, one of which being the starter? Bede giving an Eevee earlier in the game makes the evolutions being in the trailer less scummy. So unless you have a way to catch wild Eevee before the league, them being a pretty shown off set of Pokemon just means the marketing team threw darts at the wall for popular Pokemon.

@@Anotherdonny Jirachi is more of a support w/ moves largely benefitting a Pokémon in double battles or itself, as a result it's better off with that role.
Mew is pretty flexible and can learn every TM/HM so you have a choice on what Pokémon you want it to be good against, so I'd go for Mew. Give it a move effective against dark/ghost to be safe tho!

You'd have to register all 150 of the Sinnoh Dex Pokémon as seen, so one full playthrough should be enough as long as you fight every trainer.

To get the national you basically have to battle every player in Sinnoh, at least until it's home compatible.

@@RebirthOG And ORAS are RS remakes yet many quality of life updates were added. These are "faithful" remakes and still make massive quality of life updates. The grand underground? Literally having more than 2 fire type evolution lines before the end game, one of which being the starter?
Bede giving an Eevee earlier in the game makes the evolutions being in the trailer less scummy. So unless you have a way to catch wild Eevee before the league, them being a pretty shown off set of Pokemon just means the marketing team threw darts at the wall for popular Pokemon.
