I just sold my Tamron 17-70mm, found it really annoying not having an aputure ring and exposure jumped around a lot when zooming. Way prefer my 18-35mm + fringer combo. Recently picked up the new Fuji 23mm f1.4 and it is amazing! More costly than the canon 24mm but probably the same size when using the fringer also. Loving your content bro!

suggest you try fujinon 18-120, as 27-180 field of view of full frame, though not ture par focal and has a bit exposure issue when zoom, it is only 699 with wr and ois, perfect for travel, TH-cam, small projects
i’ve never seen that one before! looks cool. i think i would prefer having at least f2.8 with most things i am filming for versatility but for someone i’m sure that would be great 🙏🏽
Do you find that canon lenses with OIS don’t exposure jump while zooming? I like having a lot of movement zooming in while recording, and it seems all Fuji lenses suffer from the exposure jump. Wondering if the new mount Sigma zoom lens also jumps while zooming and recording... 🤔
@@Viewtimebro Good question. The Sigma 24-70 EF has a very subtle exposure shift around the 35mm mark when zooming but it has never bothered me. Since these lenses are not par focal, I am never really needing to do zooms in camera with the lens. When I have had to do them for a few very stylized shots for music videos, it was quite easy to correct in post. Hope that helps

Got my sun as someone who uses canon glass, is still trying to find the best canon adapter and want to keep a minimalist set up until circumstance yeilds otherwise. I’d sift around TH-cam trying to find TH-camrs like yourself whom have shown the hidden potential in cameras such as the xt3 and xh2s etc. really sound and authentic not to mention high quality content. Thank you... Toy here in Florida, but from KC, Mo.... Love your videos and how you break things down. Due to watching your and a few others content on the X-h2s, I will be purchasing 1 in the near future... Solidifying the deal, I did end up purchasing the Tamron 17-70mm you shared on this video. I think it will have what I need to get started.. I am ok with switching to Fujifilm from Canon in this season... I was going back and forth on getting the EOS r8 and r7 or going the fuji route and getting the h2s and a x-t4. with the enhancements on this latest h2s and the look I like from a camera, I am going Fuji and deep diving in. I didn't have or could not afford Canon glass with the side work I do, so, getting rid of my canon M50, cage and 5 lenses (except the nifty-Fifty) and going Fuji. I'll get an adapter if I decide that I desire the canon glass in the future.

I really needed this video. I recently purchased the xh2s, Already having the Sigma 18-35, I decided to get the fringer pro ii for it unfortunately I don't own any native lenses to make a comparison, But so far I am happy. I was surprised to see the 24mm pancake lens on the list, which I also own, however I find it slightly slow and grainy when shooting indoors, albeit i love how compact it is. Maybe it's just my lens in particular. Would love and appreciate a video tutorial or advice on movie settings and focus modes.
Glad you found the video helpful! I haven’t had that experience with my 24mm but I use mine mostly outdoors for travels. Would love to do some more tutorials on settings in the future. For now, go watch John Stambaugh’s XH2S menu walkthrough. We use pretty much the same settings and setup.

Got the 18-35 paired with xt3 and i love it, the 18-35 is the best lens for aps-c sensors, i love this lens so much that i think about cameras that would fit the lens xD

My favorite lens and workhorse is Sigma 17-50mm 2.8. I've got it over the 18-35 because of the stabilization, since my old Canon and now xt3 doesn't have it. It also has hard stops on focus ring, that helps with follow focus.
The tamron 17-70 is on my wish list for next wedding season for it's great autofocus. This with viltrox 33 1.4 for lowlight are only 2 lenses I need for the whole wedding day 🙂
And for the zoom vs primes fight:
I'm definitely zoom guy. I can get 3 or 4 different shots in manner of seconds and that saves so much time instead of swapping lenses.

Samer here. Paired my X-T3 with Sigma 17-50mm 2.8 and Fringer EF-FX pro II adaptor and been very happy. I also have Canon EFS 10 - 18 and EFS 18 -55 lenses. I wanted the image stabilization these provided. Just mention these in case it helps someone else.

@@jtchalatsis ops I thought I've already replied 😅😅 well the viltrox is really great. The AF works even in low light conditions, picture quality is pretty good for my needs.
First I bought it mainly for photos due the AF but man, it works for video also 🙂🙂 10/10 would recommend.
Now I'm looking for the new viltrox 75mm 1.2 as new portrait lens.

My 18-35 lens has trouble quite often finding focus in both photo and video... Sometimes won't even be able to find focus at all. Nonetheless thanks for all the informative content!
Thanks so much! I do not have issues regularly but would encourage you to double check your settings with my XH2S best settings video to make sure things are set correctly. Use point based AF not the MULTI mode. Place your subject in the box and move the box around need be. Use face tracking when tracking a single person in the frame, but off when there are multiple people in the frame.
Just ordered the Tamron 17-70 f2.8. i went with that for the image stabilization and focal range. Im planning on using it for wedding's on my Fujifilm x-t3

13:17 I have both the the Fringer adapter and the Viltrox Speedbooster. I use the Adapter with my 18-35 works great, autofocus is consistent great product. (But expensive) The Viltrox AF is unusable. However I still like it when used with my ef adapted Nikkor AI-S lenses. These Lenses have a lot of character themselves, and I don't use them if I need a perfectly clean image, but if I wan't some character it does what it is supposed to do. Basically it is a Manual focus only speedbooster with some character.
Yeah I have heard similar things about the viltrox 🙏🏻
I just picked up the 18-35 + fringer combo for the xh2s and love it! Have you tried the 50-100mm yet? I may rent it out to see if its worth the size/weight.
Love that. I haven't used the 50-100 as I think it would be too tight for most my needs but if it's anything like other Art lenses then I'm sure its amazing.

@@blasepivovar wow, that was fast! thanks for the response. I'm not owning any EF lenses and am thinking about getting the 16-55mm 2.8 from fuji. It's a little bit slower but 16mm on the lower end gives a nice bump for a wide angle and it covers a great range for one lens only. If you wouldn't already own the EF lenses, would you consider this an option? Or is it more important for you to have 1.8 and the ability to switch camera in the future while holding the lenses?

I do not own a gimbal but when I have needed one I have rented the Ronin S and it has handled my XT3 and 18-35 just fine. I assume the XH2S would be nearly identical as it is not much bigger than the XT3. Hope that helps!

Yo! I have only used the Fringer EF-FX PRO II adapter and don't have any issues with it! I'm not sure how the other models from Fringer perform but have seen nothing but praise for the PRO II.

Another amazing video, thank you for uploading!! I have the Tamron 17-70 2.8 you mentioned and I absolutely loved it for weddings. I've also been eyeing Fuji's pancake lens but that TTArtisans you mentioned is much more budget friendly so thank you for that, I'll check it out! One thing I'd like to ask is if you would recommend the Sigma 18-35 to someone who already has the Tamron 17-70, I'm really intrigued by the Sigma lens and I love the way it looks in every single video I've seen however it's a big investment (including the adapter) and so I'd like your take on if this investment is worth it or not? Aye Thanks Jonny! I am glad you can speak to the Tamron as I haven't got the chance to use it yet. As far as the 18-35 I would definitely recommend it. I get a lot of use out of both my 18-35 and 24-70. On weddings that usually looks like using the 18-35 most of the day and the 24-70 just for the ceremony/toasts. Nice to have the f1.8 aperture on the 18-35 for most things and I always gravitate towards those focal lengths over 50-70mm. Having both is also great for any 2 camera stuff you are doing like interviews. That is my hot take not having owned the 17-70 but hope it is helpful!

Have used a 1/4 BPM in the past but have landed on not using one the last 6-8mo or so. Having been trying to hone my skills doing diffusion in post as it offers more flexibility. My Meadow Film FX powergrade in my shop is a good starting place of some techniques I have been working with

Do you know how we can control the aperture without having the Fringer Adapter?
If you are using Fuji glass, they have a ring on the lens to change the aperture. If you are using an adapter without a ring, there is a way to adjust the aperture via the rear dial however I am not sure familiar with that function and how exactly to set that up :/

Don't really know the technical specs but a noticeable amount in Flog 2. Negligible amount in Classic Chrome

They also sell MF only versions so you wanna make sure it does feature the electronic connections for AF. I prolly wouldn’t trust that for so cheap on eBay although usually I have no problem buying gear there

I have good experiences with the Fringer EF-FX PRO II and also the one from K&F Concept. A buddy of mine has had bad experiences with the Viltrox so I have not even tried it out
May I ask if Canon EF 24-70mm f2.8 1st gen would be good? Can't find reasonable priced sigma.

Hi I really need help with choosing a lens for weddings for my fuji xt3 but planning on getting the xh2s I was just going to buy the tamron 17-70mm f/2.8 but im now seeing allot of people saying to get the canon sigma 18 35.
I would much prefer the 1.8 aperature for low light and better depth but does that mean I need to buy a second lens for the longer local length? And have to always be switching between the 2 lenses? I have never done a wedding before. Thank you!
I think the 17-70 would be a great all around lens. It's probably not perfect, but from what I have seen, it looks solid. Especially the fact that it will have lens stabilization as on the XT3 that is super nice. I think you can also get away with just shooting weddings on the 18-35, but the lack of IBIS or lens stabilization may leave your footage more jittery than desired.
@@blasepivovar for the reception isnt 35mm abit short? i thought i have to stand back abit? I do already own a sigma 16mm 1.4 prime could that be used along side the Tamron for certain shots or at night?
Yeah I personally like a wider frame for my wedding films but its not for everyone. 35mm is at times not as tight as I would want for some ceremonies and receptions. In that case I usually switch to the 24-70. @@edi18912

I personally only shoot handheld all day. I have never seen the need for a gimbal on a a wedding day but think if I had to pick something to use it would be a monopod @@edi18912
I have an XH2s but no Fuji glass yet. I own the Viltrox 56 1.4 and the new 75 1.2. Also the Fringer with 3 Canon lenses: 55-250, 10-18 and 135 f2. All 5 lenses focus very fast in video or stills.

@@blasepivovar Very nice. I use the 56 a lot for video as it's fairly light for 1.4, and the 75 for portraits. Both have very smooth bokeh. AF is fast. Amazing glass for the price. Super fast rolling shutter, wide apertures and Fuji IQ make for stunning images.
Your choice to go with the 24-70MM is very interesting. Why didn't you go with the Sigma 50-100M 1.8 instead? Wouldn't it have been a better fit with the 18-35MM kit? I feel like the 50-100MM is just constantly slept on when it's such an amazing lens, and was literally built to be the bigger brother to the 18-35MM. But then again, the 50-100MM IS massive, but I've only ever heard great things from people who own that lens and an 18-35MM 🤔
Good question. That lens does look great. With the projects I am shooting, the 24-70 still gives me the versatility to shoot wide at 24mm. I rarely am filming at a focal length past 50mm unless I am filming interviews with a B cam. In that case, the 24-70 is pretty perfect for me at 70mm for something tight, but I can also back it off to 35-50 depending on the look I am going for. It’s more about versatility for me than covering every focal length - hence having my lenses overlap a bit :)
I am thinking of getting the fujifilm XT-4 for stock videos. I guess i can use my canon 24mm pancake lens on it. Do i need any adapters to use canon lenses on fujifilm? I could save some money from buying lenses

@@soymezus4637 Dope. Yeah the 18-50 looks great. I can't speak to the Fx30 but I am super happy with the XH2S. I have no need for Raw at the moment but Cine Dailies did a good video on it for the XH2S. Hope that helps!
that adapter is like 350€ or more... its adds to the lenses... where is the money saved?
They aren't the cheapest for sure and wasn't trying to say so. See the whole section on price towards the end of the video. In addition tho, cost savings is def in the long term as I have used my Sigma lenses with other camera systems before Fuji and plan to take them with me even if I were to not shoot Fuji. But in the short term, the 18-35 is $400-$500 used on eBay. The adapter is $350 but K&F Concept makes a good adapter as well for $150 less bringing that total down to $600-$700 for a really solid setup. Fuji zooms are going to cost you more than that most likely. Hope that helps!
