Hype effects the market but we need to look at the sets. Surging was an easy call because of the top end hit cards. If it gets a huge reprint I'll buy more if it doesn't those prices will go crazy. Prismatic also looks really good I don't personally do specialty sets heavily but it looks good. Battle partners so far looks good but doesn't look like a set I'll go into heavily but we still have more to see to say for sure.
no comments? nice yes, invest in the hype. Evolving Skies was all the hype, you see how it's going. 151 and Surging have all the hype you see how they're doing. Whatever has a good amount of hype is probably a safe bet.
Don’t forget about Shining Fates; following hype is not always fool proof. We’re in the early stages of a new hype train and it can play out in multiple ways depending on print runs. In my opinion, short term flips are better than starting long term holds in these conditions for new sets.
@@skippyfxtrue, but that’s why you don’t go all in on one investment and diversify. If you invested equally in all the “hype” sets of SWSH era, you’d be sitting on awesome gains, even if you’re stuck holding a bunch of SF etbs.
Disconnecting for even a month has been so nice for my mental health. People are too close to the day to day numbers. Don't get tunnel vision! Things are going to change drastically 3-8 years out!
It's always a risk to reward balance on a set by set basis. I like to stick to my rule of retail or under but I'm in the UK where we usually have slightly longer to jump on these opportunities. For example we're only just now at the point where Prismatic stock is pretty dry, so we had longer than people in the States to get it. Sounds like it's a lot harder to get things at retail in the US.
I pre ordered $300+ worth of prismatic evolutions product at MSRP and free shipping. Just need to keep your eyes peeled on when items drop from retailers
Hype is a trend, trend is your friend

theres a big shortage of pokemon supply so i doubt they'll print prismatic etbs before they catch up on the rest of s&v
I think the opposite. It’s more likely that they print more prismatic right after launch because it will be gone and $400+ per 36 packs
no comments? nice
