Man.!. I wish you guys were in California. I’ve been having brakes problems and these mechanics doesn’t like working on classic cars. Because they’re all to young. 80’s to 2000 baby’s. Mostly all the old mechanics has passed away. I love working on my own cars from hot rods to classic &, Lowrider’s. But for our 68 Mustang it’s always the brakes I have the most problem with.!.😢😢😢
I live in NorCal. I'm an old school mechanic. If you are having problems, let me know. Peace brother.
How much bending is involved with brake lines? Do i need a tool to use?
So you said this system won’t work with drums all around where can I find out what I need because I have drums all around and I bought this conversion kit do I have to convert my fronts to disk? And why won’t it work you said on four wheel drum
Can you recommend a brake installer in Pinole California
Did you mention a proportioning valve
I agree with @lonebeagle 100%
Just installed this kit,,they left out that the pedal mounting bolt is at the top of the pedal bracket and the entire bracket has to be dropped down a few inches to install the new supplied bolt and nut as well as the 2 sheetmetal screws sticking out have to be ground down in order for the booster bracket to pull down flush,,and good luck installing that factory upper right bolt back in up under the rain drip behind the booster... a 9/16" claw foot on a wobble extension is the ticket there... Otherwise it appears to be a pretty decent setup for someone upgrading from oem manual brakes,.. Adding ss braided brake lines all around would help to increase braking performance significantly over the oem rubber hoses...
The holes for the booster didn't line up for me in the firewall. Drilled out the threaded ones too.
New break pedal doesn't fit. Used the old one. Break booster leaked.
Pain hooking up the two break lines.
Took the junk out. Put the old back on.
What a pain in the azz. Video isn't fully true.
Off the wall question for you.
I currently own a 1966 mustang coupe (solid red) with a Complete Eleanor kit (3 inch induction hood w/hood pins). Do you know how much it's currently worth? Rough estimate would be great.
New paint(mustang red) -single stage urethane for the old school look.
Rebuilt straight 6, also repainted (blue)
All black interior, All new.
18,000+ miles on motor.
I can't find any stang like mine so I don't know what it's valued at... Thanks
You have a kit for a 62 chrysler new port?
We do not offer anything for Chrysler’s
Would this fit on a 68 Mercury cougar?
Well, I made it to 1:45 and then the music started. Time to find a new video.
Can anyone explain what the booster does?
It uses a vacuum fed diaphragm to create additional pressure on the master cylinder when you push the pedal converting the car to power brakes.
would 've been easier to do if you removed the firewall to shock tower brace as well and a lot better for shooting a vid. Good vid tho!
+Mb cB I agree with removing the brace. Also after you remove the master cylinder is a good time to think of replacing or overhauling the rag joint on the steering column. With the steering column out you have better access for the brake pedal mount for the brake pedal replacement and stop light switch.
Wait! To bench bleed the master cylinder you have to pull out those plugs out and hook up hoses to the bowl!
Both ways work, this is cleaner IMHO.
Where im the actual f word does the distribution block mount
Lose the MUSIC!!!! It's really distracting. I want to see how you install a power brake booster. Having really bad music takes away from the video.
thanks for sharing .. but please turn off the music
