My fave gear montane so well made
yes I must agree it’s decent gear 👍
Stunning countryside and diverse scenery.
Yes it’s a beautiful route that’s for sure. atb Dave ⛺️🚲👍
I rode almost the exact route you took with a few deviations, unfortunately I chose the weekend of the great North run which I had no idea about so had to make a hasty return to Newcastle to catch the train back to Carlisle, excellent video.
Great stuff, I bet that was busy trying to get back home . tfw atb Dave ⛺️🚲👍
@@davesolobiker5601 It was a bit tricky as I had no lights, it was dark when I got back to Carlisle fortunately a friend in our village very kindly came and picked me up.
A bit more to the story, this took place a good few years ago when we lived in Fletchertown just off the A595 at mealsgate, I rode down to Whitehaven and did the traditional dipping of the front wheel in the water, unfortunately I didn't realise the green stuff on the slipway would be so slippery, needless to say the front wheel went in the water very nearly followed by the rest of the bike and me! Catastrophy was avoided just in time.
The rest of my route closely followed your own , I wasn't bike packing I stayed at Once Brewed Youth Hostel intending to do the same on the return journey the next day, however as it was a case of no room at the inn for miles around Newcastle it was a dash to the station for me.
Your video certainly brought back happy memories of that ride.
Thanks, very enjoyable.
Thanks for watching atb Dave 🚲👍🏻
Very interesting Dave and loved the camp spot just the sort I like
🍻👍
Thanks , camp spot was crying out to be used 😂🍺🚲👍 atb Dave
Great video Dave. Just love that UK scenery. Cheers from NZ.
Glad you enjoyed it, I just wish it would stay drier more often atb Dave ⛺️🚲👍
Good one Dave, nice to get out on a bike every now and then. 👍🍺😎
Thanks Snowy , I’ve done very little wild camping that’s for sure 😭👍🏻
A cracking ride and I really like the minimal bivi set up, I live near Berwick and my daughter is in Newcsatle, so I'm temped to do the castle and coast route south, the trouble is you are so experienced and make everything look so easy 😁. Maybe a few local cycle overnight rides before commiting to your level rides. As always thanks for taking us along ATB Big Dave Scotland
Thanks Big Dave , go ahead and do it , sounds like a great trip . I drive trains down that east coast thru Berwick and some beautiful countryside. I’m tempted to catch a train to Edinburgh and ride down to newcastle . It always good to do a few overnight trips to test yourself and the gear ⛺️🚲👍 atb Dave
Another nice route Dave, thanks for bringing us along :)
Glad you enjoyed it atb Dave ⛺️🚲👍🏻

Aye up Dave lad…anotha crackin post…luv em n keep posting
I thought from ur last adventures when I picked ur channel up that I had subscribed but this time I have
Love the flow of your editing and the way it picks up key points along the way and your cheeky wildcamps not just on this one but on your other adventures.
Just point as a hopefully constructive comment dis me if you want….
When you stop and linger to take a panam on your camera to a point of interest such as that old mining wheel, it would be useful for something like that for you to hold the shot a wee bit longer…call me an anorak but I’m a sod for information on your or anyone else’s routes.
Cheers Dave….Bessies …Ron
Thanks Ron, and for the sub again lol I always take on board my comments. My problem why I don’t linger when doing stuff on points of interest, is I am always aware of time, and I try not to drag videos out to be any longer than they are. It’s a fine balance but I will try and hold the camera for a few seconds longer, or just as easy hit the pause button.
Anyway I’m glad you liked the video and thanks for the comment atb Dave ⛺️🚲👍
Great video Dave, cheers - I'm sure your wallet was a lot lighter for the rest of the journey after that pint in Corbridge 😂
Thanks mate , the pint wasn’t bad really at £4 and very nice too 🍺⛺️🚲👍
@@davesolobiker5601fair enough, it's a while since I've been in, but I worked there 10+ years ago and back then it was going on for £4 for a pint of coke, never mind a beer!
Cheers
