Unfortunately Kwazulu-Natal has a couple of houses / housing complexes built on low-lying areas, on descending steep hills and on sand. Over and and above that, some houses (also the case with Cape Town) are too close to the sea - so they have to also contend with crashing waves. People in those type of situations need to pray to God for protection. We all need to cling to God now more than ever - heavy storms and tornadoes (among other disasters) are a threat to all of us. We must put our trust in God.
My baby brother lives in Umdloti, the kids are growing up there, their lives and business... We are lost for words, we are shocked and still we praise God they survived.

Looking at the building, the sand is fine and foundatio fine. The major problem is the drainage system, if the stormwater drainage is anable to cope with heavy rains then overflowing and erosion is unavoidable.
