At 3 1/2 months my daughter and I went to Tobago and I was eating a Julie mango she grabbed it and stuffed her face . I was wondering but saw online they said introducing solid food to babies early helps with allergies. So at 4 months I start with carrots and callaloo and potatoes. She loved it.
We introduced veggies to them first. Sometimes we’d put a little in their milk. That’s great to have friends/godparents and family to give wisdom, support, and help. Your godparents kids are so cute! Cairo is not about that icing. Lol.

I’ve been a nanny for the last 14 years. Be careful with the rice cereal it will back him up. Try mixing it with veggies and his milk. Also start with the green veggies first then work your way up to the sweet veggies. That way he won’t automatically like the sweet stuff first. They have these drops you can add to his milk that are organic and aid with gas and constipation. His 💩 will change so I hope y’all are doing well 🤣🤣🤣 Another technique if you go the organic was you can boil and blend veggies ahead of time and freeze them in a ice try silicone works best and have them ready and already in a serving form. Just pop them out into a bowl 30mins before feeding or place the bowl in some hot water for 5-10 minutes for a quicker solution. Never microwave it kills the nutrients and may have hit spots. You can store the frozen veggies together in a ziplock bag that way it’s easier. I also try this with chicken and beef. Same method boil the meat then take some of the stock from it boiling and remove the bones and blend until smooth. Adding stock until it’s the right consistency. Chicken with the bone gives more flavor to the water. Sounds weird but he’ll love it until y’all are comfortable free feeding soft foods. You can try noodles and rice soon. This is so adorable. Another Cairo milestone😊. Well, when my children were babies and they arrived at this milestone, much like you guys we started out with Cereal to see how well they would tolerate it. If all went well we added a bit of flavor, such as mixing a bit of applesauce with the cereal or sweet potatoes baby food etc. You typically try one at a time to ensure there are no allergies to that particular food choice and determine what they like and dislike. As babies my kids loved applesauce, sweet potatoes, butternut squash🥰.
I used fresh and organic sweet potatoes, pears, and carrots. Steam them, blend with the baby Bullet into a puree and add a dash of cinnamon. My daughter ate only organic until she was 3 and I made her food myself so there were minimal additives and preservatives.
Melissa and Mo, you are doing the right thing starting Cairo off with baby cereal. However, thicken it up a bit , where he learns to chew. As time goes on add a little baby fruit or pudding (1/8-1/4 teaspoon) to the cereal to give it some flavor. Also, chew up a bit of whatever you are eating (like mashed potatoes or some vegetable) and give it to Cairo; not to much, because he is still a little guy. Do these things every once in a while. Just gauge it. He will also tell you when he has had enough. Another tip, if he has trouble sleeping, because another tooth is coming in or he is restless, put a little cereal in his milk bottle and warm it up. That will help sooth him. You can also rub an ice cube or baby paste over the gums to sooth the area as well. It will require you put your finger in his mouth. Be ready because he will bite your finger, lol. Last, make sure he is drinking water and of course drinking his milk for the calcium.

So around that time my daughter started teething around 6 to 7 months what I did was I took whole chicken breasts just salt pepper and boiling water we boiled it down then I took it out and we put it in a grinder and we grind it into like a pace kind of and that worked like a charm

New parents food tip, Hi Mel you guys can look into making your own baby food. This way he will get use to your cooking and won’t refuse it later. We use to cook most of our food without salt but seasoned it well with natural seasoning then blend it in a magic bullet and put it away days at time and start over. Lol might seem time consuming but try with everything you eat. ❤️
I've been raising children for thirty years. The hair loss (baby pulls) is standard baby joker fun for them. And can I say the young lady sitting in the background is absolutely gorgeous.
I would mix Gerber applesauce with the rice cereal and milk. Or at night after a nice warm bath I would put a little rice cereal or oatmeal in there bottle for bed. My kids would sleep and stay sleep all night.

At 3 to 4 mo my grandmother gave my son (pot-liquor) that’s the juice from greens and used it to smooth or cream crackers or the cereal or actual mashed taters.
Introducing him to real mashed potatoes around 10 months is all right and then he'll want some chicken but this cereal in his bottle will help him to sleep through the night as well. Also mix his applesauce and with the cereal and he may take it better. LOVE you guys. Love💕

Haha, I thought I was saving time from doing my hair by getting waist length box braids, my 6 month old snatched one out along with my real hair on day 1!! For the rice milk mixture we put it in her bottle so it was easier for her to take and now we added puree foods with a company called Little Spoon that sends us organic shipments every 2 weeks!!! i gave my babies a teaspoon of baby oatmeal mixed with formula at 2 weeks old. they slept through the night. my grandmather and mother told me to do that. Also a drop if gripe water to prevent gas. Old school works.
After cereal, I did vegetables first. Only one type per few days to monitor any possible allergies. Fruits were introduced last as they say once a baby is introduced to fruits, it’s difficult to get them to try vegetables because of the natural sugar in fruits. All the best 🙏🏽

After cereal, I did vegetables first. Only one type per few days to monitor any possible allergies. Fruits were introduced last as they say once a baby is introduced to fruits, it’s difficult to get them to try vegetables because of the natural sugar in fruits. All the best 🙏🏽
