I'm French the US praised the performance in general yet the Brits for some declined it... Yet imo it's the most atypical, versatile and eclectic opening ceremony ever. May be a bit too much fashion and the rap was not necessary to emphasize diversity

I kept alternating between the CBC and Radio-Canada live coverage to try and dodge the truly horrendous advertising timing that broke the key moments of the ceremony, the French commentators had the good sense to shut up during some sensitive moments of the show but the English commentators were simply infuriating.

Turned on the TV this afternoon to catch the opening ceremonies. Saw some dude dressed in a dress walking on a runway and thought I had the channel wrong. Then I turned to another channel and it was the same thing. So thats it. I turned it off and wont watch the Olympics this summer. It's ruined for me now.

I can not believe South Korean team was called as a North Korea at the boat ceremony!! What a deliberate mistake. Great insult to all South Koreans. Bad impression to Paris.
Someone wrote it down. Someone else reviewed and approved the writing. Then the announcer reviewed the writing to make sure of correct pronunciation. When the time came they proclaimed "North Korea" in French and English.
