    For anyone thinking that this is useless tattooing information, I can personally tell you it's not. If you follow along with what this man is doing, you will become a better tattooist. Guaranteed. He isn't showing you his skills, he is showing you, as a beginner, how to improve your skills. That's rare in any TH-cam tutorial and I just want to give a huge Thank you to Ben for all of it!!

    8min 26 seconds in with my arm stationary wrist Nd elbow locked using my elbow as a lever almost to taper in and out smoothly my question is as my arm and wrist are moving aroundthe circle should i tilt my wrist accordingly as im moving with the cirle to keep the needle at the angle it would be at if i was running a line in that position where your gun is facing away from you and youre gliding your arm along the link

    Ben thank you for this course, you've helped so many of us. I've always been into drawing, painting, etc and always wondered about tattooing. Your guidance and knowledge and explaining these fundamentals in depth have helped me more than you know. Just want to say thank you so much! ❤🤘

      Thank you for the support and comment.
      The idea is we get used to tattooing in all directions and create muscle memory in our hands so in the future no matter what we tattoo we feel comfortable and competent

    could you maybe do a vid doing a perfect circle while stretching the skin? or around skin folds maybe on a thicker person's upper arm, I know its follow the stencil and stabilize your hand, but ive seen so many ovals where circles should be or for mandelas outlines really thick where they shouldnt be because I assume the artist had to fix the circle. Idk food for thought. Always great vid Ben, love seeing your style of teaching.

    4min58 seconds in I like to pretend I'm a plane taking off and landing for tapering in and out cuz the machine sounds like a plane and the sound it makes when youre at the right depth and coming in and out are very similar to an engine running at right altitude and decending and asending lol anyway back to video LOL

    • @RyvinRose
      @RyvinRose 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      6min20 seconds in the reason I stopped tattooing circles and looked this up cuz I was wondering if adjusting my entire arm to have the machine facing the right way even in a small circle so the ink is being put in correctly and no deviation back to video so thank you

    Hey dude, I hope you're well!
    I wondered a quick question as I'm learning watching you! Do you still recommend a apprenticeship or other courses to become a fully tattooist? I'm at a difficult point in my life where I'm not sure what to do

      I believe Ben would say that's completely up to you. Taking the TMP course. You could go to a shop and get a chair or open your own. Which is what it did.

    If you’re right handed you don’t have to start from bigger circles, just turn round your skin 😉 f.e. For me it was much easier and better to start from smaller circles

  • @RyvinRose
    @RyvinRose 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I used my throwing knife , my ink cap and a lid of girlfriends make up to make 3 different size circles and use a stencil .marker and let it sit over night so I'm ready to jump right on in with you no stencil required but that would have been very helpful

    I noticed you resting on your off hand a lot, is that for additional stability, or are you remembering to stretch, or something else entirely?
    Thanks, also! your course has really been helping me on the beginning of my journey

      Ben uses his right hand as a stabilizer. As well as using that hand to pull down on the skin to stretch it. Hope this helps.

    • @kratos7893
      @kratos7893 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @aimsink in which way do you pull the skin? I know in lines you pull in that direction so is that the same way for circles in small parts? Like keep moving your skin stretching hand in the direction

    1 minute 51 seconds in we are kindred spirits never good enough always wanting to be better I've kept everything I've ever learned for art since I started including tattoo everything in depth to not just know it but to live it breathe it understand it fully so you can properly use it and manipulate it

    Can i ask what you do to keep it so easy to wipe and get ink out of the skin? When I do it ink is spreading every where 😢

    • @Ridla25
      @Ridla25 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Do you use reelskin mats or cheaper fake skin? I have both and the ink wipes off the reelskin better than the cheaper stuff, I get ink everywhere with the yellow crap

    • @BenFisherOfficial
      @BenFisherOfficial  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      A lot of the time its the matts your using and use a bit of ointment while tattoo as this helps create a barrier between the ink and the matts

    I like how gentle you are even when applying ointment or wiping, like if you’re dealing with real skin. For you is second nature but, I’ll copy those habits so that when I start with real skin I can be that gentle.

    Loving the 30 day challenge. Your videos are amongst the very best. What voltage do you use with these Ben ?

    • @aimsink
      @aimsink ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Say pal. I know Ben would say his voltage doesn't matter. It will not be the same for you. To many variables. Even if you had all the exact tools. Hand speed would be different. Focus on hand speed and voltage working together. Also Ben goes off sound and feel. I don't think he even knows or cares his voltage. Hope this helps.

    • @TheKayPetes
      @TheKayPetes 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I use plain ol' Vaseline, a tiny bit prevents the stencil from coming off as easily when you are dabbing your ink off, as well as makes it was easier to keep your fake skins clean and presentable afterwards if you want to use them in a portfolio or for show
