i understand diana, i mean i think in the next season the producers will make diana jealous seeing jerry w someone els and that’ll trigger her to wake up and realise what she lost. But her parents are already enraged by her and she seems to still want to prove them she is better than what they talk her down to be- selfish and deceiving - she wants to do what feels is right, to me it doesn’t seem selfish and deceiving. But, Diana seems to be hurt by all their saying so thats what pushed her to stopped her fling w Jerry, even though deep down ik she wants to carry on. idk thats my input on it.

i know a lot people think diana was wrong to do that. but i think diana only liked romantic gestures and the mystery of the relationship. but when it rly came down to it, they couldn’t relate to each other and they didn’t have anything in common or anything to talk about.

I think part of her anger was that part of the reason Diana broke up with Jerry was their social differences. Since Anne is closer to Jerry in status, she took this to mean Diana also thought she was too good for Anne.

Jerry was Anne's big brother in a way. And when your brother is in a bad relationship you get protective. But When your best friend is the one causing the sorrow you become torn, plus the boy she is in love with is courting someone else.
They at least needed a season 4 so they can tie loose ends and fix this little relationship cuz we need it. But take Hannah for instance I wanted them to save her but no. I'm so angry rn sksk. 😡

okay so i am just gonna spill it out here now.....so i just finished with the last episode of the series. And for some reason i feel like something is incomplete like this should not just simply be the end to the story. It is so horribly sad that the season 4 won't be coming. Ughh....I wanted Diana and Jerry to have a better relationship in the season 4 and for them to make people realise that where there is love, money or anything at all doesn't matter. Also, I wanted Anne and Gilbet to be happy together after all those years. Also now, i think we all forgot bout that indian kid.....we didn't get to know what happened to her. How Diana's parents actually allowed her to go to queens. Anne and Cole's beautiful friendship was just forgotten in the end. Also Jerry deserved a goodbye from Anne in the end you know! U see? that's why i am saying that we all deserved a season 4 and the show should not have been cancelled. overall I think it is a great series. Still I hope they reconsider and actually think about creating a 4th season so ya....

I think that Diana at the beginning was thinking that she felt something for Jerry but maybe, go forward this relationship, she has understood that the only thing that she wanted from Jerry were his kisses, she has understood that she didn’t have feelings for him. I’m very sad for Jerry but at least he won’t have in the future a relationship with Diana that didn’t feel nothing for him

I loved Diana and Jerry and I didn't understand why they had to break up and especially why they had to make Diana be the one to do it. I think this relationship could have had so much potential for great storylines. Like Diana teaching Jerry more about what they learn in school. Or Diana's parents finding out that they are together and trying to forbid them to see each other. Then maybe their relationship would have a tragical end when Diana had to go to Paris, but they would still write each other letters. I would have loved to get to see all these things. I really didn't understand why they had to end it like this :((

Totally agree!! This couple is both romantic and tragedic in the same time!!! I feel sorry for Jerry - he was totally in LOVE with Diana, not just a little crush. And I feel bad for Diana too, nowadays we're so different from those girls, so we couldn't understand that parents were allowed to make their children do every thing they want, especially in marriage! Society has against her every minutes, Diana deserves better!! And the way she be rude to Jerry, I thought it was because she couldn't be softer, she was scared that this wrong relationship would become further and ofc her parents would totally against her. That wasn't romantic to HER anyway! But I still wait for season 4 (hope they'll renew it) and hope that Diana and Jerry would end up together (Just forget about Fred x Diana in the books!!). They are meant to be, and will always meant to be.

I understand that Jerry was not in Diana’s level intellectually (and economically) but he just needed more opportunities. He had potential and I could easily see a great story line for him. Maybe not the traditional one... but changes to stories can be an improvement.
I can envision several story lines with Diana and Jerry. Diana can pursue her university career while Jerry seeks to improve both his economic status and education. While Diana continues to struggle in the life that her parents want her to live she can see herself give that up and create her own path. Along the way she would be courted by wealthier suitors maybe even Moody being a suitor (not as wealthy though). While this storyline with Diana is taking place, Jerry is improving his place in society to be worthy of Diana. He can begin by improving his education and buying and farming land to improve his economic status - with the goal of becoming worthy for Diana. Then the story can take a tragic romantic turn where Diana just can’t leave her social status behind, no matter how much Jerry improves himself (although she is in love with him). Jerry becomes bitter and continues to strive to become the wealthiest man in Avonlea. Obviously, there would be more to their story lines but this could be a draft... lol

After I saw season 3 I realised that they both really loved each other but Jerry still deserved so much better than her.
Diana broke my heart as well, I think she is bad, I love her...
I dont really think Diana was in love with him, according to the actress and the scene in the series, Diana was confused and thought she liked Jerry, but in reality, she just loved the freedom he made her feel. True though that status and interests played a huge part on their breakup. Jerry on the other hand, personally, he also never loved Diana. He idolized her and often times flirted with her (i mean who wouldnt?) because she was very pretty, and is the daughter of one of the richest and well known family in Avonlea. And the fact that Diana and him see each other more often because Anne always hangs out with her, makes me think that Diana was the only girl he knew aside from his siblings, Anne, etc. We also see that the breakup didnt seem to affect them too much, Diana forgot about it quickly and didnt even thought of apologizing, we also never saw Jerry sad or anything, but maybe it was just because of his lack of screentime in the later episodes, and how rushed it was.
But how I wish, if s4 happened, Diana and Jerry could've been a thing. Especially because we never really knew what Jerry did with the embroidered handkerchief Diana gave him. Like the storyline couldve been her seeing him still holding on to the handkerchief, and her realizing that status and money should not play a part in their relationship. Because it sucks since we know that Aunt Jo always told her that her parents shouldnt dictate her, that love is for everyone, and that she has the freedom to do what she wants etc. I was kinda hoping she also asked Aunt Jo advice on her love, just like Anne, but she just asked about her education, which isnt bad but i just wish.
If there wouldve been a s4, I thought that maybe, Diana broke up with Jerry but didnt give him back the book and the dog. She then leaves for Queens with Anne and the other girls, we see her unpacking her things then notices the book/dog that jerry gave her. Which will tell she has lingering feelings for him. Then maybe, ones they take a vacation back to Avonlea, she will see him, apologize, and see that Jerry has been working hard honing his skills in reading, writing, etc. Seeing as how the show really tackles freedom, equality, and many other problems in society, I dont see why they didnt push for a love story such as Diana and Jerry's. It wouldve been nice seeing the struggles that status may affect a relationship, and how differences may play a part, but how it will also help strengthen their relationship, how they will defy the rules set by society in their time period, and how Diana will further show her parents that she is a person of her own and not someone to be dictated by them. Its possible that s4 couldve done something similar seeing as how they really left the relationship of the two open-ended unlike the other happenings in the series. I really hate that it was cancelled, im sad that i found this series too late, and how i wish that i was with the fandom when it was still very active.

My partner showed me this series. It was one of the best ones I have seen so far after "Dark" everything was on point. Truly a masterpiece.
I am naturally a romantic guy no matter how much I tried to deny it or resist it. Years of hardships, between death of loved ones, accidents, near death experiences, fears, ups, downs, rejections, heartbreaks can harden your heart. You become cold, this is why a part of me related to Marilla and other part to how romantic anne, Jerry, Guilbert were. Luckily I met a woman after 25 years of loneliness that felt like the light at the end of the tunnel. A new, beautiful hope. And even her name is an arabic translation of "Sunshine": Doha. This makes it more poetic. She also spent all her life alone, had her share of heartbreaks. It feels like we both have been waiting for each other. I too used to feel like those romantic movies are biased and cliché. But a part of me has Always craved it. When you re a hopeless romantic you become bitter. Having someone in your life that cares for you and worries about you as much as you worry about yourself (at times even more) is truly a blessing. It is a real thing, even in movies it's not perfect. It was never meant to be perfect but it is meant to be real.
Anyways.. Got carried away lol. This series is full of life and good vibes. As episodes go by at some point you feel like you became a member of their family. Not gonna lie at some instances I even teared up. The acting was amazing and so believable, the events felt real. Too bad it had to end. The kinda series that always keep you wanting more and actually that's why we're here.

Jerry and Diana are not right for each other, simple as that. They couldn’t hold a conversation together properly because they don’t have things to talk about. I agree that they both deserve people and this furthered Diana’s story but I wish they could’ve used a new character to do this instead of Jerry☹️
