I absolutely love this airport! I have been using it since the summer of 2016. That's when I found out that Melbourne, Florida had an international airport! I travel to Central Florida every summer, but I was unaware in the previous years about this airport as I mentioned. I used Orlando International (MCO) which is a lot more stressful like the larger airports that you mentioned. It's like LAX,ATL, Charlotte-Douglas, and the like. But not MLB! They are an absolute treasure! As you said, the TSA security lines are almost literally a joke at times! You're lucky if you have 3 or 4 people in front of you in the regular TSA lines! And getting your luggage after you land is quite easy. The lines at the rental car counters are rarely long except maybe during the major holidays. It is also only minutes from the hotel that I stay at, meaning the city of Melbourne. Since it only services 6 airlines as mentioned, the baggage check-in lines are also relatively light. Upon departing from there, you are in the air relatively fast being the traffic on the runways is rather scarce most of the time. You won't see the massive plane lines like you will at LAX or especially at ATL. I use Delta Airlines when I fly to MLB every summer in June. My favorite areas in Central Flo are Melbourne, Satellite Beach, Cocoa Beach, and Cape Canaveral as well as Titusville, the location of the Kennedy Space Center visitor complex. When I used MCO in the previous years, I lodged in Kissimmee and it took me about an hour to drive to those areas. Now I can get there in a matter of minutes literally from Melbourne! I don't mind driving an hour to both Kissimmee and Orlando. That is such a blessing! I am so very grateful that this airport exists. I just wish I had known about it in the previous years before 2016! Now I'll never have to deal with MCO again! This is about the only airport that I know that you can arrive 30 to 45 minutes before your departure time and not miss your flight whereas at the larger major airports you have to arrive like 2 hours before your flight time. I like your video. Great job! By the way, I live in Southern C.A. and fly to Central Florida for my annual summer vacation there. I used to live in Satellite Beach from 1969 to 1971 as a child in elementary school. My late father was in the Air Force and was stationed out at what was known as Cape Canaveral Air Force Station before Trump renamed it to the Space Force Station. We lived in the old Patrick Air Force Base south housing units at that time. What an awesome part of Florida to either live in or visit!
Agree with everything you said. One problem that I encountered with American Air Lines. We were on an early morning flight to Charlotte and the flight was delayed two hours because there was a bird crushed in one wheel. At Charlotte we missed our flight and American couldn’t get us to VT for several days. We had to rent a van and drive to Burlington. So much for trying to make connections.
I used to live in Melbourne over 20 years ago. I love that town and all of Brevard County. If they want tourists to stay in the area, they need to invest some money. I used to say that tourists that live beach side on A1A they risk their lives trying to get across A1A or even walk along the road. There are no sidewalks or ways to get across the road. Maybe it has changed but I doubt it. There is nothing there to do but lay on the beach. The British tourists of course don't need much. All they need is to get drunk and they are happy. 😂 I hope you are serious about trying to keep some tourists there, but attracting flights alone won't do it. Love you Melbourne
I love MLB airport and it’s a 15 min drive from home for me. I would love to fly out of there more often, but sometimes it’s 2x-3x more expensive than flying out of Orlando😢. So I often find myself making the 1hr+ drive to Orlando, parking my car and flying out from there.
We fly from the UK and we now use MLB instead of MCO. Ok its a bit more of a drive into the tourist hub of Disney but MLB is so much more relaxed and more efficient than MCO.
Melbourne much better than Orlando. I get to Melbourne an hour before my flight not 3 hours like Orlando. And now with the holidays forget Orlando. I use Delta short hop to Atlanta, and they go anyplace in the world.
Absolutely love MLB. I live 8 minutes away and can leave my house 15 minutes before my plane boards. Orlando I have to leave 3 hours before boarding.
Agree! It’s a treat for sure. Orlando is a mess
Yes, I know what you mean by that! It is so much more pleasant and easier to deal with!
This is the best small airport review I have seen so far
🙌🙌🙌 it’s prob the best small airport around!
Keep these bangers comin'
Thanks for reppin' the coast!
🙌🙌🙌

Now that’s a testimonial! Thank you for sharing
@@SpaceCoastShane You're quite welcome!

Damn, that would be awful! Sorry to hear about that experience.
great to fly in to i grew in palm bay
Nice!
I wish the Melbourne airport in Australia had security lines like MLB! Great little review!
Thanks! How is that airport?
I love this airport. They need to come to Boston, Worcester, and Providence.
Agree!!!

Love you Melbourne
The area def has some growing to do and I agree with you about pedestrian amenities. Thanks for your comment 🙌

Same here! It’s always a treat when flying out of MLB
Is 45 minutes ample time for departure at Allegiant?
I’d take that bet
Flying back in May flordia

Great comment and I couldn’t agree more!
Do MLB have job offer for aircraft maintenance engineers?
I imagine so!
The Melbourne Florida Airport is a nice uncrowded airport compared to Orlando International Airport.
Facts! I just flew out of there. Amazing
I love MCO, I used to fly out of there when the terminal was a shack along the Beeline (520?)

Smart! I’m right there with ya
