I feel a bit sad for Rachel. What she did wasn’t right but let’s be honest, no one wants to be compared to others especially their own sister and no one wants to be called a bimbo or dumb. Even Sally insulted her. I blame the parents.
For real! The only difference between most of the other main characters and Rachel is that she made the wrong decisions, and instead of the her being ignored for being different, winces ignored for being like her parents.

Sadly, red heads are picked on a lot while younger, especially women. It happened to my mom when she was younger, to myself and now sadly, my daughter. I just keep telling her no only how beautiful and amazing she is and they are fools not to see it, but most of it is jealousy. When I got into Highschool, I decided to stop taking it and stood up for myself as well as knew I was way better then anything they called me. I ended up gaining a lot of respect from fellow students, especially the skaters, punks, rockers and people like that who were great people in general and even now, 18 years after Highschool, still always have my back! I also had a lot of the 'jocks' that picked on me the most, eventually admit that they actually had a crush on me in Highschool, which I of course ignored. Wouldn't want to be with someone that would treat anyone like how they treated me! I told my daughter this and anyone reading this that is having the same issues in school, know that you are amazing and please, ignore those mean people!
