Round about 2009ish I took a trip from CO to CA partly to see the redwoods but also to see Wolves play in Ureka and San Fran. I was obsessed with this song, listened to it all the time. Then I got to the redwoods and the song made all that much more sense. I listened to it multiple times under the redwood canopy. I was staying at a campground in ureka listening to this in headphones before the show. For an unknown reason I just got up and decided to drive over to the venue even though it was still mid-afternoon before the show. I parked in a mostly empty lot, opened the car door and immediately heard the opening cords of this song. The band had just started their soundcheck and were playing the song I was just listening to. There were a few venue employees outside and after a brief conversation they let me inside to see them play their soundcheck. It was just me, a few venue employees and a couple people with the band. They only played this song and they also played it without singing the vocals. They didn’t play this at either of those two shows so that made the serendipity of the soundcheck one of the most surreal experiences of my life \,,/
This was one of the best experiences of my life. The setting, the sounds, the energy were all so incredible. I see the Tetons every day but in this way really changed how I look at them now. I cannot wait for FITM 2024!!! \m/
just bought Two Hunters LP in Portland and the clerk was like, "oh yeah, it's almost cold enough to listen to this in full". There's something so riveting about this song. Seeing them play this at a small venue in 2016 might be my favorite live performance. Can't imagine seeing them in the Tetons!
Where did you see them? They have been huge around here for years, last time they played a small venue in Seattle was probably the Funhouse, 16 years ago. El Corazon is too small for them now, and has been for awhile, so I'm curious. They played backstage Capitol Theater once about 8 years back...shit I think they only even played in the bar they owned once! So yeah pretty rare to see them in a smaller space nowadays. Seeing them is definitely not the same as back in the day, its been too long, I know too much crap about them, and I'm too old and bitter. At one point though I loved this band. Glad the rest of you still get to enjoy them!
@@patrickbertlein4626 I saw them at Gasa Gasa in New Orleans which sadly closed down recently, probably like a 600-sq ft space. this year in Portland I saw them at Hawthorne Theatre with Hulder. I think the sound there was really lacking, I wish they could have played anywhere but there.
The low end sounds incredible. All of it is so clean, and really makes me realize the difference between a band that's been doing this for nearly 20 years and someone like myself.
The song, the band, the sound, the visuals, the crowd, the atmosphere. Everything deserves a fucken medal. This is the essence of WITTR captured to perfection. You can only do better by seeing them live. Thank you for this.
@Paul Batum agreed.. This was stunning.. Funny story.. First time i heard these guys is when i was going through a phase of "if the cover art looks good buy it" lol.. I bought "Black Cascade".. It changed me.. The trace inducing repetition, atmospheric emotion (in the winter especially)... Walking under a moonlit sky on a December/January night and listening too this, it's a journey 🐺 🐺 🐺 🐺
I was at the front of this crowd and their wives and kids were walking around with incense lanterns, I've never had anything engross me in music more than the lengths WITTR will go to. Such an incredible band.
im near tears at how AMAZING this is from my living room. i cant begin to comprehend what it must have been like to actually had been at this performance.,, WOw! WINTTR!!!
Magnificent show, I’m so honored to have been there in that pit - surrounded by magnificent people who turned three days in the blistering Wyoming sun into one of the greatest adventures of my life. Hail, FITM. I can’t wait to see you all in 2024.
the late afternoon time, when in the background we noticed the consummation of another sunset; the stage coming against a majestic scenario, all this makes it clear how the event was very well planned where we have a memorable presentation
Pretty fucking amazing I’ve been a metalhead for 60 years and I’m still discovering new metal insanely delicious thank you you too thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you for such a wonderful sound stay healthy my friends live well and also consider others🤠🤠🔥☠️☠️💥🔥😜😜⚡️ peace be with you all🤠🔥😵💫☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️
This song is GOLD! I've been known to listen to it in an endless loop. It's my all time favorite by the Wolves. It's basically impossible to pick a favorite, come to think of it... must be our Cascadian raw beauty that creates such gems.
I saw you guys at Neumos in Seattle five years ago it was SO fucking loud my ears were fucked for days. And you were burning these Wood things that filled the room with smoke gave me a headache. Was one of the best shows ive ever been to. I love how uncompromising you guys are
awesome footage , natures force - and cams did a good job in blurring just in the right moments - the composition makes me wanna decompose in a lush forest underground mycelium , luv it
Words cannot describe how much I love this, I found you recently due to an amazing person recommending me; I'm a huge Winterfylleth and Grima fan, and this band does both so well! Even the more neo folk stuff more recently, I'm hooked
Damn! What a performanced!!! Wish I could see it live! Too bad I'm far away from Malaysia. I pray for the Weaver brothers for longevity and this band moving forward with great albums and success! 🇲🇾 all hail Olympian!!!
Oh awesome! My favourite song and the sound and video quality is great. Awesome to see you guys play in New Zealand a few years ago, though gotta admit the environment of a dingy city pub had nothing on this!
I saw them at Whammy Bar in Auckland. They played at Valhalla in Wellington, too. 2019. There's a few good ones this year now that the pandemic mess has started to calm down. Vader, Blood Incantation, and Mayhem!
I saw WITTR live in Silver Spring, Maryland with Behemoth. I had no idea what to expect because I still held prejudices against American Black Metal. Their performance was mind blowing. I immediately became a fan, what an excellent band and experience.
Super sick show I was there. Never had heard this guys before, but I was impressed. At the end of the set the entire crowd was howling like wolves for an encore, but they didn’t come out which was a bummer. Killer show though otherwise
Give a sound engineer a medal, please!
A... Black medal? ! 😃
the sound guys were fantastic all weekend
Seriously, this sounds absolutely amazing. Hope i can attend this festival one day
@@donderwalvis6772 BRAM?? JIJ HIER??
@@LukasRisbourg lol, zijn zij dit op dezelfde dag ant checken? 😅
Holy crap. WITTR have always been amazing, but this is the best I've ever heard a live black metal band sound on video.
The sound guy needs a raise.
Jfc, after the second interlude... man, it's fucking perfect and the end. I'm playing them at my funeral
I love this band... Born in the deep woods of Sweden they're like an extension of the better "me". Kudos!!
This song changed my life. Amazing performance.

Play this song at my funeral someday. What an awesome show that was. Such a privilege to be there that night. 🤘

I cannot believe I missed this show. I was literally working on this mountain, playing these songs in my headphones

One of the best experience’s of my life.
This whole festival nails it.
I live in Wyoming and this exemplifies everything I feel and connect with.
The mountains and Wolves = perfection! Thank you for sharing this with us who could not attend.
Wow they pulled this off meticulously. Drummer is fantastic, and the sound is impeccable!!
This set - from the music to the backdrop to the setting - was an absolute religious experience. Thanks for playing for us and the grizzlies 🤘🏻
So glad I got to attend this festival
It's been years since a band really caught my attention. I'm loving these songs
Literally the best performance and recording of all time for this song.

Loved this track so hard ever since two hunters dropped.

Greatful to everyone I met out there in the beyond

It's been years and I still couldn't have wished for any other song to introduce me to atmospheric black metal🤘🏻🖤 See you in Germany, soon!
Perfection in all senses. The lights, the sound, the setting, the song and the job of the sound engineer. Awesome!
Thanks for posting this! FITM was incredible and I look forward to attending in 2024. I hope to see more pro-shot footage of this festival uploaded.
There is no day passing by without listen to this song at least once.
