Loved meeting you at the festival! As one of those colorful hair people and as an artist I am all about color. That is why I love your Making Tracks so much! At 64, I love making others smile when they see all my color. It just fits my personality. White hair is also lovely and should be celebrated. I like to think we live in a time where creative self expression can include embracing your natural appearance or create it! Your choice! Above all, keep your sense of humor!
So great to meet you both and that sweet Maeve! The selection of colors was gorgeous. I had no idea there were so many and seeing them up close made for a difficult decision so had to come back twice before deciding. Love your podcasts. Love your hair color, Peg!
I have the Addi flexi flips and I think they would work well with your sleeves and the bobbles Amanda as they come with two different tips: rounder and pointier. I am also a fan of 9” circulars for sleeves.
Lisa L suggested peanut butter and jam for that color way, which is fabulous!! Also, addi flexiflips are great! You get three bendy needles... One side is blunter than the other, which makes it great for all types of yarn. Can't say enough! Thanks again for being here.... I truly enjoy your mill cast each week!
Another great episode! ❤ Love hearing about spring in Vermont and the NH wool festival. Plus hoo hoo - you broke 1000 subscribers!!! Time to celebrate.❤🎉
Berry Cobbler would be a good name for the new version of Berry Jam. I need some of that color! And I love the Addi flexi flips, game changer for small circumference, best aspects of double points and magic loop combined. 😊
Gotta have a guy or know someone who has a guy! We say that all the time, so glad you were able to repair and not have to replace! Your energy for sheep to yarn is wonderful! ❤❤❤ for the millcast!
Just yesterday I was knitting twisted rib in hairy mohair and it was a struggle. I switched from a 5 left hand needle to a 2, and so much better! I have quite a few vintage (1980s?) skeins that are so much hairier than today's typical kid silk yarns and will definitely use this trick again.
Hi Peggy and Amanda, thanks for another enjoyable episode! You are both so inspiring! Your yarns are so pretty! Hope to take a trip up to your Mill someday ! Happy Knitting !
Hey there, loved hearing about the fiber festival. I had to laugh about your reaction to unusually colored hair. I am an artist, most of my friends are artists and having worked in animation for more than thirty years and being around people who are always trying to express themselves in all ways possible, I am always amused when I am reminded that there are workplaces that would frown on it. 😄
I started doing craft fairs around at age 2, according to an old newspaper clipping, and started my son at 3 or 4. He’s had his own table (with grandma) for three years now (since age 5). Definitely start training Maeve! Flexi flips can be good for children’s sleeves. Small circumference needles too. Really depends on the project, yarn, stitches, etc. And for knitting at night in a hotel with a baby (or anyone else who wants lights off early), go for the around the neck reading lights! As for earlier iterations of Berry Jam, I have a couple of good photos I can share if you’d like. The latest batch looks to me like a purple/orange sunset or something festive. Canyon Sunset? Sedona Sunset? Carnival? Or those pansies that are purple and orange or maybe African daisies? It’s beautiful, and very different from earlier batches, as you say, though other similar style yarns vary greatly too without changing the name of the colorway. Cheers!
When I first saw the skein of Making Tracks I thought of raspberry sherbet! My husband also comes in my room to listen when have you ladies on! Will you be at the Maine Fiber Frolic in June??
Peg I 100% agree, a woman of a certain age realizes she is invisible. Also you reach an age and freeing attitude that you just don't care what other people think, if I like it I'm doing it!
Stopped dyeing my hair when diagnosed at 53 with sclerosing alopecia, which is permanent. Now going on 67. Have saved heaps of money going grey. The hairdressers love my grey colour and dont encourage me to dye it.
Great footage to the festival - thank you for that - what a great day!!

Well said!
Your new yarn has color elements of a purple haze sunset that's what I immediately thought of; very beautiful.

So glad you could stop by! Sorry we make decisions hard. Ha!

I was also thinking your new version of Berry Jam looks like Peanut Butter and Jelly to me. Thanks for another great millcast.

Happy dance all around!
The Berry Jam you showed here really looks like a Peanut Butter and Jam, it is quite tasty looking🤣😍
Love that name.
PBJ for sure
I know I’m late to this but how about “NOT Berry Jam “ as a name 😉
Your variegated yarn color reminded me of blueberry pancakes/waffles 😊
Love it!

I like the colour as is, please don't change it, and i do enjoy your pod cast, ( golden blossom )
I love the “berry jam” colors! Reminds me of a field of pansies
Heartbroken that I could not coordinate my trip to the Cape, Portland and surrounding areas to attend the Boston Market….Next time, for sure !!!!
Millcasts make Tuesdays fundays! The JFM yarn
looks like sports team colors-- how about 'Varsity Hues'

Two table for next year is a good idea. With Stitches closed fiber people will be exploring other festivals to get their fix. Gosh Maeve is cute
My suggestion for your Making Tracks color is “Carnivale”!
I keep thinking that "Berry Jam" variation looks like Lucky Charms. :)
Enjoyed speaking with you Peggy, at the NH Sheep and Wool Festival. Hope to meet up with you and Amanda again in the future!

Yay to the greys Peg! I’ve not dyed for 5 years such a release being natural. But yes people look through us. Great episode wish I was local 😊

Beautiful yarns. How about the name spring tulip

We'd love it if you sent some photos of the original Berry Jam to Hello@JunctionFiberMill.com - no rush!
How about Newberry Jam. Like new (version 2) berry jam
When I first saw the skein of Making Tracks I thought of raspberry sherbet! My husband also comes in my room to listen when have you ladies on! Will you be at the Maine Fiber Frolic in June??
We won't be at the Maine Fiber Frolic unfortunately.

I used to try the “ hide half my money “trick . Now I just blow on my credit card when it heats up and gets melty . 😉
Love IT!!! Melty... LOL
YOu could call it "NOT Berry Jam" %~\
