don't buy a card at the mrt ticket machine, buy a card at the bus stop ticket machine in the middle of the road, the card is called jaklingko, one card can be used for all public transportation in Jakarta, Jaklingko can be used for commuter trains, MRT, LRT and Transjakarta buses, if the MRT card is only used for MRT

This is only just the first phase. The 2nd phase connecting Old Jakarta to HI Roundabout is well underway and might be completed in 2028 at earliest estimate. The 3rd and 4th phase will commence next year and connects the Eastern and Western portion of the city (3rd Phase: Kalideres to Pulogadung - both being Industrial complexes , 4th Phase: Fatmawati crossroad to Kampung Rambutan - both being busy meeting point for workers from neighboring cities).

Jakarta MRT are relatively new but Jakarta KRL operated sinced 1925 in early 20th centuries and used by more than 1 million passengers each day was cleaner, modern, efficient, well-maintained system than New York City Subway .

not really , in my opinion
security in Indonesia, especially in malls or the MRT is more about helping people who are lost or confused, and to discipline people so they don't break the rules and build a good and clean MRT culture, because as we know there are many MRTs in other countries that are less safe, so they keep that from happening
