I have a Traxxas rustler 4x4 and I ran straight into a wall. The center drive shaft took all the impact and bent it.

2 orings up front and 2 orings outback, then you slide the outdrive down on the driveshaft to take up the slack, then tighten that grub screw down.

I just bought a rustler like a month ago and the center driveshaft came bent like that mine is the same way and I’m replacing it right now lol

I bought this Center drive shaft. It sucks. Check out my latest video what happened to the rear pin on this center shaft end! I have a custom 2200KV VXL-6S 4x4 Rustler. Steel drive shafts all the way around. 20T Pinion. HR motor mount. Ultimate VXL Center junk shaft. Huge slipper with alum shoes. Traxxas X0-1 rings and pinions (getting HD cups and X0-1 diff rebuild kits with I-beam and longer pin next). I added a RC10GT alum shock spacer to my battery arm swivel and longer screw to gain height for double stacked 3S batteries. Took a 35mm battery arm and shaved the top ridges down about 1/16” and installed in n the rustler upside down. Drilled a small hole in my battery arm clip and that double secures my heavy pack in the battery tray with a body clip. I’m running 4 Duratrax Six-Pack tires all half inch offset.
Honestly, I’m thinking of having my own center drive shaft custom made out of hardened steel. But before I go to that extent, I’m going to try the GPM steel/alum shaft first. I can’t find a tekno shaft for the 4x4 rustler. Any body have a link? All I have found is for slash/stampede. Rustler 4x4 Center shaft is a few mm shorter than slash/stampede 4x4.

To answer your question about the antenna, you can use one of the set screws in there to keep the antenna secure. You achieved the same goal though.

Why does mine don't have that screw. I have the stock plastic driveshaft, and it doesn't have the front screw anywhere, it has the rear one wtf????!!!

you dont need the antenna, its pointless, i run mine without the antenna and just have the cord in the box, i get the same amount of range.

Best thing instead of removing the antenna completely and sticking it in the receiver box would be to cut the antenna tube to about 3 inches (maybe a tad shorter) just enough to clear under the body shell so it doesn’t get damaged. On my rustler 4x4 build I relocated my tube and it’s about 1-1/4 inches long now. But I did that because I slammed a 6S 2200KV combo in it and had to remove the receiver box completely. Take a look at my build and see what/how I did.
