Venkat - The silent but alround consummate performer
An Extraordinary Song - a tough one none dared to attempt so far, I believe. Kudos to QFR - both for attempting and presenting it too too well. Most probably, this song would have been within her First 10-15 Songs sung by VaNi Jayaram within an year since her entry into Tamil Film Music in 1974. Her voice was a magical one blended with both sweetness & an awesome maturity even when she was young and that's the reason she was able to adapt quite easily while singing such tough songs for the matured onscreen characters. After her maiden song Malligai En Mannan mayangum, she just rocked the Thamizh Film Music Listeners continuously with a long spell of lovely songs in a row - one after the other: like Thathi chellum Muthu kannan Sirippu, En Ullam azhagaana VeLLi Thirai, 7 SwarangaLukkul, Kelviyin Nayagane, Naadham Ennum Kovilile, idhu undhan Veettu KiLidhaan, anbenum Sudaraal yerindhadhu ViLakku, Kaaviri Nagarinil Kadarkarai Oarathil, Veru idam Thedi PoavaaLO, Pongum kadal Osai, En Kalyana Vaibogam - to name a few.. This song is certainly at a different level. BS Sasirekha was unfortunately an underrated singer despite her proven track record with so many good songs to her credit and this one could probably be the toughest song she has sung so far. Very well sung here by both the QFR Singers - Srivardhini and Surmukhi touching the upper most octaves with their painstaking efforts and with a remarkable level of confidence. Venkat's the Hero Today as this song fed enough food to his appetite and he came out with flying colours showing his multi dimensional skills once again after "AAsaiye alai Pole" with Editor Sivakumar projecting him most fittingly. Being a practising Carnatic Violinist, Rangapriya relished her role today giving her best. When presented perfectly, it's this kind of great songs that will make others envy with QFR. Keep it up QFR !

Srivardani's voice maybe suits to match Smt Vani Jairam voice I guess. I enjoyed her voice even in Pongum Kadalosai song from Meenava Nanban.

I have no words left to congratulate the Ragamalika orchestra, Venkat, Rangapriya, and our dear Shyam! They all excelled with their reproduction of this challenging journey of MSV’s pinnacle of a composition. The two ladies Sri Ranjani and Surmuki rose to the call so gallantly to reproduce one of the strong but sweet and bell ringing voice of Vani Jeyaram, a challenge few would relished without much reluctance!
The lyrics of this song written by another unchallenged king of Tamil film poetry, Kannadasan would have stumbled quite a few, but these two ladies pronounced every word and line so perfectly to make us all proud.
