- I get asked a lot to go over my Livescope settings and I wanted to make that video but I wanted to do it while catching some Walleye and not just talking about it in the garage, so come with me and put some BIG Walleye in the boat and go over my full Livescope setup and settings!

Your thoughts on respecting the resource in the last couple videos are spot on.... I couldn't agree with you more. 🤙🍻
I love to catch Trophy fish!
Love your take on Livescope, Clayton! Too many 🤡s and couch cushion experts out there that hate on it. At the end of the day, it doesn't put the fish in your boat. You still have to catch them!
Love the videos!
100% !!
The only people who hate on livescope are the people who can't afford it.
Well I don’t dislike lovescope but it defiantly makes it much easier to catch fish.. Idk if it’s a good thing for fisheries but I think it’s awesome and fun to use..
@micahdunleavy9227 I think what you meant to say is it makes the fish easier to find. It absolutely does nothing to help you catch them. Livescope isn't putting fish on your hook. At best, you get to see how the fish reacts (or doesn't react) to each bait you throw and helps you determine what the fish want that day. Once you gather enough data and knowledge from using that tool will you hopefully catch more? Of course! But you still need to put in the work to learn. I can find a pod of fish and throw a Leech all day long, but if those fish want a Minnow you're not catching them with or without Livescope.
@@joryhaken4589 if you find fish it makes it much easier to catch them.. It’s about 3/4 of the battle is finding them, when I find fish I usually catch them.. Maybe sometimes they are off the bite and it can take a bit more to make it happen but if you don’t know where they are you sure as hell aren’t catching them.. .. I don’t like these arguments I think they are disingenuous, “it helps you find fish not catch them!” .. Come on, I just watched you cast right at fish and catch them a lot of the time and you couldn’t do that so precisely if you didn’t have a live view of the fish.. I am not against it but trying to act like it’s not putting fish in the boat is kinda silly.. You might have to switch presentations! Oh my goodness you have to do that without live-scope all the time anyway and you don’t even know if you’re throwing right on fish and they’re not interested so you’re just doing it blind, if you are looking right at fish and seeing what it responds to it’s a heck of a lot easier to know if they want something or not and when to try something different..
Thank you for share your livescope settings, also nice to see you catch fish, but the hints, tips, and tricks are so helpful along with lure choices to gain insight. Thanks Clayton.
Really appreciate the view into your settings!
Cheers man!
Thank you for sharing your Live Scope settings. Great video as always
Cheers!
This was awesome! Thank you Clayton. Much appreciated!
very welcome!
Great video Clayton. My Garmin will be here next week. Appreciate the knowledge sharing
Great info. Great day getting outside!
Cheers man!
Awesome video! Thanks!
Cheers!
Wow the vids are a commin!!! Thanks so much !!!👍👍🐟🐟Livescope👍
Gonna try to keeping pumping them out :)
Love the great content keep it up man
Appreciate you watching a lot!
Good info and mix of catching nice eyes.
Thank you sir!
"Short" video heha!! 😆 Nice video, great info! Learning from the Livescope footage you put out is the best thing until I get one for the boat!! 🤙🎣
Hahaha ya. Didn’t end up being that short…
The Last Mountain videos are a bliss to watch by the way, what a fishery!!
Great video. Have the lvs32 and have a hard time tracking my lure and finding it. Hope this helps.
Also agree with your stance on the tech!
Hope it helps a little!!
Great video, I got the Echomap Ultra 126sv and been using it with the live scope for the last three years. I’ve learned so much and seen some really amazing things that it’s just crazy. I hold my camera up trying to capture some screenshots and video, but my biggest regret is not understanding the screen recording capability and not getting the GPSMAP series. Looks like I can get an ECHOMAP ULTRA 2 that does screen recording in the echo map series now and they’re giving the older 126 away at about half price now so that hurts a little bit, but I’ll probably have to re-buy just to do screen recording.
Of course you are a Clayton Schick, who else could it be 😅
Haha been an ongoing joke for a while :)
Starcraft 188T. Thanks Clayton. 😊
Love that boat!
You're always a step ahead, thank you! I just got my lvs34 and have been spending some evenings playing with settings. I found myself wondering about yours last week since I noticed they were so clear, I do think some of it is the better water quality up north. We have a high amount of recreational boating here in Indiana so I have learned to work with a lot of things in the water showing up (sea weed, propwash, bottom silt). Wired the 93sv uhd2 to its own lithium in a shuttle that moves around the boat tracks as needed. I noticed you run lake master on hummingbird also, hows the side imaging compare between garmin and hummingbird in your experience?
These days I only use my humminbird for mostly any auto charting I have done in the past. I started using the new gt56 transducer for my Echo Map and I am blown away. The side vu is just as clear as the mega side imaging. Very happy with it!
@@ClaytonSchickOutdoors Thanks so much for the reply! I was curious about the helix mega side imaging when in reality I just need to learn to use the GT56 I already have and save some money lol. Always look forward to learning from your videos, I did more ice camping last winter than in my whole life because of your inspiration.
Awesome video like always! What update do you have?
Great Info. Does the double stack beat down mount have any vibration at all in it if you hold and shake it ?
Nope zero!!
@@ClaytonSchickOutdoors Thanks . Mine Shakes😡 Not going to mention the brand but the company told me it was purposely made to shake to add less stress in rough water. Seemed weird to me.
PIKE...... PIKE......... PIKE .... wr need some big PIKE videos clay💪💪
I hear ya!!
I might have missed it but you definately need an off/on switch on you panoptics unit . It draws power even when it's off !
I do have that yes! I have 2 switches, one for each unit.
Is your compass calibrated? Is stabilization/ahrs on? That would stop the bottom from rocking up and down all the time caused by the waves. Thanks for your settings!
No. My compass was not calibrated on this unit. I think I mentioned that. I need to do that!!
I've been running 100ah elfhub lithium batteries from Amazon. They are like 175 -225 bucks. Run my mega live and solix on one and 2 for my trolling motor. I've had very good luck with them
Good to know! Let me know if they last long or how they do :) Like how many years Hope they last a LONG TIME!
@ClaytonSchickOutdoors the one I run my solix on I've had for 3 years. No issue. Probably get 25 to 30 hours out of it if I had to. So far for my trolling motor I've only been running them 3 months. Fished 12 hours using spot lock. Trolling jigs and cranks. Didn't kill em.
Do you see any clarity differences between the echomap and 8600 series? The 86 is supposed to have more pixels and better clarity. But the price point of the echomap is great.
very little difference. I am very impressed with the clarity on the Echo Maps
Is your cranking battery also lithium? i heard the slow trickle charge from the alternator is not good for them. Im planing on going agm for cranking and lifepo4 for house and trolling motor.
It is a lithium yes, the new Dakota 135ah are supposed to be fixed for that problem.
Clayton,
I love your videos. Which fish finder do you have with the lvs34 transducer? Thank you.
I said in the video I think. But that’s the GPSmap 8612. I recommend the echo map ultra 2 :)
I like the pole u use. the one I purchased isn't my favorite and I did look threw a few of them but was hard with what shipped to Canada and what not . would be nice to just go buy another one but roughly 1000 bucks just for the pole I think im stuck with what I have for now
I hear ya! Not cheap for the good stuff! At least these guys are in Canada :)
I like practice with my unit every nite, haha!
Hahah!!
What length Ram arms are you using for your poles? Looks like the 9 inch in the console area and the 6 inch on the bow. Does the 9 inch Ram arm set the pole higher?
nailed it! The 9" one does make the pole higher which I really like!
@@ClaytonSchickOutdoors I see on ArcLabs web site that the black poles come in different lengths. Can you replace the black pole above the silver part that the clamp attaches to with a longer pole to adjust the height?
@@gregdutton8219 yes. On some of them I believe you can. Best to call and ask them. I know for ice fishing the taller poles are really nice
Working towards getting one , hoping sooner rather then later lol and you nailed it as far as people thinking live scope is going to hurt fishery’s , no they won’t , poachers hurt fishery’s , not livescope , not flashers , not under water cameras , and poachers gonna do it with or without livescope , before livescope they said same thing about under water cameras and flashers and side imagining etc lol
Exactly! Guns don't kill people, people kill Walleye.
How far into the water do you put your transducer?
Far enough that it does not come out the water when it's rough out. I would say about 6-9" below the surface. I will try to measure in a future video and add it in a video.
@@ClaytonSchickOutdoors thanks for the quick reply! I’ve been putting mine down much lower so I can spin it “backwards” and still see under the boat, but I’m having trouble with my pole flexing if I’m trolling. I’l have to try pulling it up next time.
@@erichoffer264 you need a solid mount to use it while trolling as well.
good info, but i would like to see your transducer positioning. so many questions about that online, and ive seen different answers all over the place. thanks
Sure could you explain more what you mean? Like how far under the water, on a pole? etc? I can answer that in a future video.
@@ClaytonSchickOutdoors actually just how its facing on your pole. if its level, etc. i know you can find out online how to set for forward/down, etc. but i see conflicting answers online so just wanted to see it in action. thanks
Hello awesome video I’m curious what walleye rods u useing?
I link them below, but I have been running the Elliot and 2B rods :)
Ok thanks been watching for while always amazing content here
Hell ya
Changed it up!! I love it :)
👍
I don’t even have a boat let alone livescope ( luckily have a friend who does ) but anyone still saying bad things about FFS is not a fisherman there just a Karen with nothing better to complain about , several tips in here about the setting we were both wondering about an you jus dialed it in perfectly…. Again clay
Always appreciate your outlook!
❤️👊💪🎣
I see you got your shortpants back on ! Must be warmer tham 5 Celsius 😅
HAH!! I always rock the shorts :)
Man I’ve been getting skunked lately, your videos always make me keep trying though
We all have those days, plus I am luck to fish some amazing fisheries!
Hard to get skunked in Canada where every lake is full of walleyes and no panfish.
Which NHL team are you a fan of?
Go oilers!!
I'm pretty sure it's all the flat earther's that are against the forward facing sonars
Hahaha!! Love this.
It’s really hard to catch walleye in Canadian lakes don’t ya know?
Can’t wait to see all the hate comments on the livescope! Haha
My only negative comment is I wish I went Livescope instead of Mega Live
HAH! Best comment :) I hope there is LOTS of hate, better views then! haha
Video game fishing. The average and below average fisherman has just become good.
Blah. Blah blah.
@@ClaytonSchickOutdoors Hit a nerve did I? Actually will be getting one soon. My point is that we who love to fish better hope that this technology doesn’t help to exploit the resources that some would do by using it.
Bananas are bad luck for the boat. Not for fishing.
Yes. I stated that wrong :)
@ClaytonSchickOutdoors no bananas in my boat. Also no cheesy. That orange powder gets everywhere.
Dermal sarcosis
Aren't you the guy who complained on my channel for not giving out a location?
@@ClaytonSchickOutdoors yes but I still watch faithfully
@@thewildnorthnetley3054 haha Well... At least you are honest! Cheers!
