    Great video! Mine was very slightly different... as the one I was fixing is the A03s A037G/DSN and motherboard/cables only very slightly different, but all the relevant parts in the same place! I didn't have any alcohol so I used my soldering station heat gun attachment on 100 degrees C and applying to the (broken) glass-side to help release the battery and also used the same heat gun settings to lightly go over the power/volume buttons to help release the adhesive. Luckily I already had mobile phone double-sided tape from various glass replacements in the past to help me stick down the vibration motor and the connector for the power/volume.

      Nice!! I'm glad to hear it. That's a really good method to use for battery removal if you don't have alcohol, and not directly heating the battery is perfect technique. Glad it worked!

    Taking the volume power flex cable off is one of the hardest things I've ever done and I've fixed many devices. I would have been a lot better off buying just the LCD and leaving the frame intact... Bought the frame version based on your video... I truly dislike when videos make a job look so much simpler than they really are. The rest of it was as shown, but I've never seen a harder removal than that flex.

    • @TapticDigital

      That ribbon cable is a single layer circuit, so the best thing to do is check for any rips or tears. Even the slightest cut can kill it. If it's toast and you absolutely need it to power on you can bridge the pins on the board where it connects using tweezers. The button ribbon is very cheap to replace if needed.

      I was able to find them on MobileSentrix, you'd just have to be sure to get the right model number as it appears they make two variations of it. Thanks for the reminder to remove the SIM tray and also the heads up about the finger print reader cable attached to the back cover. Also I have one question. Near the top there is that 6 connection point square pad attached to a ribbon cable. On the replacement I bought on eBay, it is glued down slightly crooked, not perfectly square like yours. Do I dare try to peel it up to glue it back down straight or should I send it back? I wish I could attach a picture of it here but I don't see a place to do so. Thanks

    • @TapticDigital
      @TapticDigital  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It shouldn’t matter too much, the spring connectors on the board only touch a very small point, and with how large (by comparison) the gold pads are, it should still make contact. If it doesn’t and you need to adjust it, a few drops of isopropyl alcohol on those gold pads and some tweezer action should get it free safely!

      I ended up moving it so it was straight, probably would have been ok but being the perfectionist OCD type I had to fix it. Got it moved without any damage, same with the volume control. My new frame did not have the ribbon cable under the lower board so I had to peel off that gasket and carefully remove and transplant it. Wrecked the gasket but ribbon came off in one piece and everything works good after reassembly. Thanks again for posting this video, it was very helpful.

      Advice for other repairers:
      1. Safety first. Be aware that working with a power source, in this case lithium ion batteries, has a potential danger. Have a safe place to secure the phone in case it catches fire or explodes and a method to put out the fire. Try not to breath in the fumes.

    • @TapticDigital
      @TapticDigital  ปีที่แล้ว

      This model has some little foam pieces in the frame that the microphone sits in, sometimes the replacement part doesn't have that foam in it already, and this causes sound to echo and bounce around the microphone. This is the most likely issue, but it could also have some slight damage

    • @TapticDigital
      @TapticDigital  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That's an interesting one... First step is the super obvious, are there any stickers inside the replacement frame that cover a microphone hole? It sounds dumb, but I can't tell you how many times it's happened to me. If that isn't it, let's try to isolate which microphone is the culprit. Phones typically have three microphones, one in the charge port, one next to the earspeaker, and another facing out with the cameras. Talking normally on the phone uses the charge mic, calls on speakerphone will use the earspeaker mic (and sometimes the charge port as well), and the camera usually utilizes all microphones. Test by making a video and rotating the phone as you record, then play it back and see if your audio drops out when you turn it a certain way. Blow into the microphone holes one at a time to find which one is dead.

    Hi, Is the A03 and A03S LCD screen the same or different?

    • @TapticDigital
      @TapticDigital  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Unfortunately they are not. Even between the A03S variants they are quite different, for example the A037F model is wildly different from the A037U. So make sure you get the one specific to your model!

    My phone is samsung galaxy A03s sm-s134DL. And I need to replace the screen. Is this the same screen as the one in the link you provided. I'm trying to purchase one but I wanna make sure it's gonna work on my phone first? Thanks

    • @TapticDigital
      @TapticDigital  ปีที่แล้ว

      As long as yours is a US model that part should work fine. It would be a bit more expensive, but you could also buy another A03s (I believe the model you gave is from Tracfone, so Walmart should sell the phone) and swap your main board into it.

    • @diamondlaw3846
      @diamondlaw3846 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh yea I'm debating on whether to just buy another phone or replace the screen. Cuz I mean I've never replaced a screen before but as long as I follow the video it seems pretty easy. I just wanna be sure I get the right screen. But the website that you have in the link is out of stock 😪

    what should you do when the battery gets damaged when taking in out\

    • @TapticDigital
      @TapticDigital  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Always replace it, if there is any rip, tear or major bend, get a new battery. Even if there's nothing immediately wrong, it can lead to the battery swelling up over time or leaking harmful gasses. Cover the damaged area with electrical tape before disposing of it (at the proper recycling place).

    • @TapticDigital

      Not that I've found, unfortunately in your case it may be best to locate a display only without a frame

    • @butterflygroundhog

      Good to know. Do I need a particular model number without the frame or do I just need to worry about the dimentions? Have any videos detailing the steps for that? I am definitely not as experienced in this field of repair, so any help is really appreciated!

    • @TapticDigital
      @TapticDigital  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@butterflygroundhog the display should be the same for any model of the A03s, so no worries there. You'll likely need some better glue for attaching the display though, check out my video on the OnePlus 7 Pro, I replace the display only and they are very similar in how it's done.
