- The TILERS ripped my waste out and tiled over my McAlpine boss, why would anyone do that. If there is a waste under the bath it is for a reason. This is quite common on building sites. It’s a big problem in the building industry, no one thinks about the next person all they think of is tho get the job done and the money in their pockets. #srv #plumber
Ha. As a landlord I realised that a long time ago. It inspired me to learn plumbing, electrics, painting, etc. It may take me longer, but I get a decent result.
lol, a landlord caring about a rental, any landlord I've ever done work for only knows 3 words, cheap cheap cheap
Lesson in why you need to brief people before setting them on a task
Give people a task where they need to make decisions, they have a chance of getting it wrong.
Many decisions make it inevitable they'll get it wrong
No matter how much it upsets tradesmen, as a homeowner, experience has shown me that you have to watch the bastards like a Hawk, and ask questions at every turn.
🤣🤣
Unfortunately Pal these semi skilled lads know your good at what you do and will sort it. Problem is they get paid the same or in most cases more than us because we have to spend so long fixing everyone's shit. Make you wonder why we do it! That's the difference between a professional and a chancer! Keep it up fella 👍 top work as usual.
Thank you bud 🙏
Book it in as an extra, charge them even more 😂
Was a permit pulled and inspection completed on this job?
I think this is in the UK and there wouldn't be any permit needed or official inspections on this kind of work, but I could be wrong. If it was a new build or extension then yes there would be plans and inspections to make sure that there was proper venting on the soil pipe etc for example, but aside from that, this comes under 'domestic remedial work' I think so it doesn't need official oversight.
For example if it was copper gas pipework then it would be signed-off/certificated under the plumbers licence, and the grounding/earthing of the copper pipe would be signed-off/certificated under the electricians licence i think.
In essence your asking Narcissists to be mindful. Someone sound of mind would not even dare do what has been done there. The building reality is loaded with toxic individuals . Until it’s understood, and laws made to keep them in order, it won’t change, as they look for loopholes in everything, that’s there character, if you can call it that. It’s more just evil
They get away with it because they know you have no one better to turn to because they are all just as bad.
Unfortunately it’s not about how good they are it’s about their lack of responsibility towards other peoples work. As far as their tiling. Well! If one can call it that then I would say not too good
Whats the Mc Alpine?
It is a boss waste connector the one that fits on to a soil pipe
McAlpine is a brand of waste pipes/fittings etc I think. They have a reputation of being good quality and some people prefer/recommend them.
